Why do some sent messages appear in the drafts folder of Mail?

If you look at your Draft folder now are they still there? Gmail automagically saves a draft every now and then while you write an email just in case something happens. The email should dissappear from the Draft folder when you send the email but it will for instance stay there if you have selected "Delayed sending" (so you can cancel a send of the email) until the email is actually sent.

Why do Gmail sent items do not appear in the sent items folder?

This could happen in certain cases. You are a subscriber to a list and you are sending (originating) a new topic. Here you will see a copy in sent mail folder but a copy is not delivered to you in Inbox. However when a reply / response to your topic happens you will get it. As a subscriber you can always check in the website of the group / list or know if it was not delivered.

Why isn't there a sent messages folder in Tumblr?

Messages in Tumblr are a post type - Questions. The new unified inbox helps keep messages and submissions to all your blogs in one place, but as each question is a post, Tumblr transfers the message onto the blog once it is answered. Even with the new private reply option, which doesn't publish the question to your blog but instead puts the message back in the inbox of the asker, the post is transferred across to the asker, where they can either delete it or leave it in their inbox. The great thing about the private reply is that when people send you a response, you'll get your question back also, so you'll always know what you've asked people, unless they choose to forgo the private reply option and travel to your blog to post a reply directly into your ask box.On top of that, not having a sent messages folder helps streamline and simplify the dashboard. Tumblr isn't an email client, nor is it a chat platform - it's a blogging platform. That's not to say Tumblr won't introduce this feature, but by keeping focused and uncomplicated, they're leading the field in what they do.If you want threaded messages, send an email.

Can you move deleted messages back to the sent folder?

I have had a couple of answers that have suggested going to the trash folder and locating the message, selecting the message and using the pull-down menu from the "Move" button, select the folder to which I want to move the message. I am using the new Yahoo! Mail, the Sent folder is not an option in the Move pull-down menu. I would be interested to know, do you have this option and I don't?

Thank you for your contributions, none the less.

Why are IMAP message items sent from Apple Mail intermittently not stored in my Yahoo (or Mail) sent folder? They just disappear.?

Why are Messages sent from Apple Mail (IMAP) intermittently not stored in my email sent folder? They just see to disappear. Yahoo and Apple Mail apparently treats them as if deleted yet they do not appear in the deleted folder either. in both Yahoo mail and Apple Mail there is no trace of the sent item unless cc or return reply emails show their origin.

Mail not being saved to sent folder

Yahoo upgraded classic mail to "new" classic mail a few weeks ago. Many people have been experiencing different kinds of problems since the switch. Here's a chart outlining the changes.

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl... >classic mail changes

One of the changes is "auto-save to draft". That means as you compose an email a copy of the email is automatically saved in the draft folder every few minutes. When you send the email the draft copy is *supposed* to be deleted and a copy put in the sent folder. I suspect this is why you're not getting a saved copy in your sent folder.... no matter what Yahoo says.

This might work for you and get copies of emails saved in the sent folder. First, disable the "Save a copy of the message in the Sent folder" option.
1. Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Yahoo! Mail page.
2. At the top of the list on the left side of the page, click General.
3. Un-check the box next to "Save a copy of the message in the Sent folder".
4. Click Save Changes above the options area.
5. Restart computer to make sure change takes effect.

Next clear your browser cache of old cookies, temp files, and history. They can keep returning you to a non-working website or web page. This article from Boston University explains how. Select your operating system logo and then your browser.

Now re-enable the "save to sent folder" option and restart your computer.

Why am I unable to view my sent messages in LinkedIn? I don't see any sent folder too.

LinkedIn changed their messaging structure to one more like a chat, than an email. As such, there is no ‘sent’ message to check. Think of your messaging program on your phone, you can’t search for sent texts. If you know who you sent a message to, you can pull up your chat with them and view the entire conversation history.Sending Messages to Connections
