Severely Matted Hair After Hospital Stay

My hair is severely matted..?

I been sick for a week and I have been kind of slacking, not doing much. Just sleeping a lot. I am finally feeling a little better, but now my hair is complete mess.

It's matted really badly, especially in the back. I am having an extremely difficult time getting this out.

Any suggestions?

Severely matted hair after hospital stay?

One of my close friends just got out of the hospital after a month stay. The first two weeks she spent unconscious and the next week was spent on bed rest until the last week when they started weening her off everything. The entire time her hair wasn't washed or brushed and someone had the idea to put it in a bun. Now it sits on the top of her head completely matted. Is there anyway we can save her hair without cutting it all off?

How to detangle BADDLY matted hair?

My sister had brain surgery and they seem to have "tied" her hair up. She has been laying on it for a week and now has a HUGE mat of hair. We would prefer not to cut it as the surgery was enough for now. PLEASE offer ANY help you may have. THANKS!!!!

Need Advice....Shattered Ankle?

In 2004 I fell and shattered my ankle..I have screws and plate in the both sides of my left ankle..things aren't going well with it as come to find out there are more problems with my foot..the doctor who did the surgery told me that there is nothing more that he can do so he sent me for a second opinion.. this doctor gave me pain patches to wear that did help some but I can feel my foot getting worse and it scares me..My daughter called me because she knows someone who did the same thing and his doctor told him that the plate and screws have to come out after a year because the bone does heal...they can't remove mine as I did alot of damage..they said the next step would to take out the nerve in my foot...would it be worth it to do or just learn to live with this pain..been having alot of spasms in my foot at night and it is really bothersome..I am also afraid of losing my foot but if I have to then it needs to be done...has anyone out there had this done??

Self-Defense: If you fight with someone who attacked you first, how do you prove that you have a justifiable reason to attack back?

You can only "prove" it by evidence such as videotape. The more eyewitnesses you have the better, in a case sans tape.A lot of people use the excuse that "he started it" when in reality they baited the person to make the first move so they could feel "justified" in inflicting violence on someone. This is why ego contests usually start with "chest bumping", name calling, and other enticements to tempt someone into being the "aggressor".Half the time this is simple word games. There was no true self defense at play. A state like Colorado even has a "mutual combat rule" where you are allowed to fight another, which seems rational, if not outdated for our day and age.In a true self defense situation you are allowed to strike back. But you need to end your assault the moment your attacker is no longer of threat to you. You can't say, "well, he touched me, and I don't allow ANYBODY to put their hands on me, so we threw down!"Sure, that will justify it to yourself, but it's not right to provoke someone simply to have an excuse for kicking their ass.If it's true self defense, for example a strong armed robbery or random street violence, then strike back, strike hard, and worry about your personal safety first and the law second. But as soon as it's over, look to clean up your mess (getting witnesses on your side) as soon as possible. Tell the police you were a "victim", and try to be the first one to call and talk to the police if at all possible You are not going to look very "victim-like" if you have a bloody body lying at your feet, so be careful to paint the proper picture of the incident to the police. Speak with an attorney as soon as you can too, obviously, and be careful how much explanation you give the police. Just make sure you are labeled as victim and complainant.

How can you prevent hairfall after suffering from dengue?

i too had dengue few months ago. A few weeks back i noticed a huge bunch of hair on my comb. It really was a shock for me as this was the first time i had such a bad hairfall.Basically it was due to the fact that my body has undergone a shock (dengue) which resulted into this excessive hairfall. This condition is known as telogen effluvium(A reversible condition in which hair falls out after a stressful experience).Nothing to worry about. This condition is merely for 5-6 months after that you will start experiencing lesser hairfall. In this hairfall doesn't lead to bald patches, it just make hair thinner and density is reduced. So here are some things which i am trying and getting really good results .COCONUT OIL- coconut oil is a blessing for hair. Coconut oil stimulates hair growth getting deep into its follicles. Massaging with coconut oil will increase the blood circulation and hence promotes hair growth. The more you keep coconut oil on your hair the more will it work.USE A MILD SHAMPOO- So this is also an important step in your healing process. Using mild shampoo will help alot in saving your hair. I was regularly applying coconut oil on my hair but i was making a mistake of washing my hair with a harsh shampoo. Then i switched to Himalaya Baby Shampoo and noticed lesser hairfall. You could try on other mild shampoo or any baby shampoo as they are safe to use on hair.COMB DAILY- Combing your hair daily will keep the hair less tangled. But remember do not comb your hair again and again after short period of time. As everytime you will comb your hair there will be some amount of hair on it. So try to comb as less as possible but do comb on regular basis.DIET- Diet also plays an important role. (1)EGGS (2) Almonds (3)Spinach . and other foods rich in Vitamin A. So thats all i know about hair loss due to dengue.

How can I deal with skin irritation from fiberglass dust?

First off , I am no doctor , so with that cleared I would point out two different things with work using epoxy/fiberglass that might be the case for you. Most likely it is what you say ,super small dust particles of glass fibers that your skin reacts upon . These reactions are in this case not from chemicals or an allergy out break. First thing after your work session you should have showered in cold water, so not to open your skin pores. Then you should just leave everything be and wait. After a day or two you will be fine. My opinion is dont upset your skin during this time , with any more cleaning or rubbing or applying anything, just let everything be.Now to the second part that might not be the case here but super important when it comes to epoxy. Do not ever expose yourself , skin , lungs or any part of your body, to uncured epoxy, if in doubt just let more hours pass. Uncured epoxy is extremely allergy provoking. Always use protective gear while working with uncured epoxy. Always make sure your mix ratio is just right and your surounding temperatures are within requirements. Epoxy is not like other stuff. Read about it prior to you work.Good luck !
