Sharp knee pain?

I'ma keep this short, about 4 days ago I was doing squats when I felt a sharp pain in my right knee. I tried doing more and after that first pain it wouldn't go away. The pain only occurs when I put pressure on my right knee like doing squats or crouching, if I sit or even stand and I bend my right knee I don't feel a thing, I also don't feel random pain in my knee at all either. I barely feel anything when I go up or down stairs. It's only whenever I pretty much exercise the knee. I don't really exercise that often and I really wanted to start but now this hinders me even exercising. Any thoughts?

Sharp and aching pain in knees?

I would be curious to hear what diagnoses' you have been given. I have had a lot of experience with knee pain as I had severe knee pain for a year and when I saw the surgeon he immedaitely diagnosed and treated my problem. With your case I believe the cause could be patllo femoral syndrome. It is a condition that occurs when your knee cap (patella) is incorrectly tracking. It is not sitting in the right position when it is bent and when straightened it may slide back in causing pain. Usually the pain is increased by activities such as; standing up, squatting, going up and especially down stairs, and after sitting for long periods. Usually what is reccommended is to go to physio to try and strengthen surrounding muscles and sometimes alleviate or cure the condition. However as you have already attempted this it is not advisable. Sometimes taping of the patella to keep it in position, helps with the pain or the wearing of a patella stabilizing brace, however these simply help cover up the problem and do not cure it. This condition is obviously very aggravating and surgical treatemnt may cure your problem. They may arthroscopically loosen or tighten muscles which will help to stabilize your patella and hold it in position. Consult a surgeon and don't give up until you find someone to help you. Try getting your family doctor to get you in to a sports medicine clinic. Good luck I hope this helps.

Knee pains while going up from squats?

I've been working out for over a month now, and recently I've been feeling minor pains in me knees. If I keep doing squats the pains get more intense. I know it isn't the form since I had a friend watch me do them. I can squat 135 (and I'm 13 so not sure if that effects me at all) and I feel this pain if I just do the squat motion without weights. I also feel this pain if I walk up stairs sometimes. I think the pain comes from going up from a squat motion or any form like that. I also barely stretched my legs out so I'm not sure if that could cause these. I was just wondering why this might be happening. If anyone can answer this then thank you!

Why do my knees hurt when stair climbing?

It is a good idea to consult with a Medical Doctor to examine your knees and check overall health condition. You may have medical issues* with your knees or they may be healthy and you simply lack adequate muscle strength. Usually, most HEALTHY people can build strong legs by training with barbell squats. That is a good start. I use back squats, front squats, and deadlift varieties to strengthen my legs and core extended to my hips and posterior.I also recommend adding some overhead pressing to cover everything from head to toes. You must get strong all over. Before you start lifting with barbell squats and deadlifts you must rule out any medical condition you may have. See a Doctor.* chondromalacia patella is a painful condition that results when the cartilage under your kneecap is damaged.Another name for this condition is patellofemoral pain syndrome. Its most obvious symptom is increasing pain with stair climbing. I'm 13 and my knee hurts when i squat?

well to begin with my knees have always (to my embarrassment) cracked really load whenever i would squat to sit down or to squat and when i move my fingers, wrists, or toes they all crack 2. But now my right knee hurts when i squat down, try to stand up, and when i walk down and up stairs. I can feel tension in my left knee when i do any of those things but it is only the right knee that i feel a sharp twinge of pain. My right knee is also swollen a little. The only exersise i do is fast walking at 4.9 mph on a tredmil. but i have been taking a weeklong break of that. (and yes i always stretch really good before) my mom has been told that she has artheritis in her right knee and she is only 43. so tell me what is this???????? :(
