Sharp pain in stomach when I sit down.?

The pain happens above my belly button and it's tender to the touch. When I bend over and sit down it's a sharp pain that just happens until I sit down and straighten back up. What could it be? It just started yesterday, and I haven't fallen or been hit.

Why do i have sharp pains in my stomach?

if you're appendix has burst you would notice / you need to go to the doctors really really soon to get it removed. Other than that I don't know. Maybe that time of the month, or **** food. You're question is making it sound like this has been going on for awhile, in which case I dought is has anything to do with your appendix or you would have serious problemes. Go see your doctor / don't trust the yahoo answers!

What causes sharp pain in the middle of your stomach?

Not much to go on here! Are you male or female? Age? Smoker? What brings the pain on? What helps take the pain away. Any family history of a similar pain? Does eating cause the pain, or take it way? What medication do you use regularly? What medication do you take as needed. Are you stressed a lot? Point with one finger to exactly where the pain is… oh you can't do that here. Well I hope you see just how much I have to guess here!So most stomach/chest pain is a bit to the left and just above the lowest rib. Here is where the Esophagus, tube from the mouth to your stomach comes into your stomach they meet at a muscle called the cardiac sphincter. Here on an partially empty stomach the stomach acid can splash up and burn this area. Especially if you lay down. This is known as GERD Gastric Esophageal Reflux disease. You need an anti acid. Baking soda works in an occasional situation. Other over the counter medication is available such as fomodadine, ranitidine, of omeprozole. There are others too. The ranitidine may be the cheapest and good for long term treatment. Follow directions. It could be many other things too. Yet usually this is what it is…

Sharp stomache pain after holding in pee?

When you had to pee and were holding it in you were using your back muscles, tightening them up, to do that. When you finally got your relief and all things got released it causes a muscle to be pinched to tighten up in your back. Tight back muscles can press onto the nerves going to the organs as they leave the spine. Pressure on those nerves will cause the organ they go to to act up or go into pain. Pressure on the nerves to your intestines will give you pains in the belly button area. Pressure on the nerves to your bladder will send pains to your bladder and down to your vagina, pretty much mimicking a UTI, and UTI's have beem mistreated for this before. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your back muscles to release the pressure off the nerves and here's how to free them up:

Back:
(do while sitting on a chair)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front, and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm as straight as possible. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, then release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
