Sharp Pain On Back Of Hand

What is the sharp pain in the back of my hand?

It sounds more like tendon strain,or tendonitis. When you move your fingers and hand that moves the tendons and causes pain..but there should be something you can point to that you did to cause such an injury.
I doubt it's carpal tunnel...this is usually the first 3 fingers and maybe the thumb..but more numbness and tingling than pain and symptoms are on your palm side(finger print side)not back of hand.
Try ice x 3 days, then mild heat ...take OTC advil, motrin etc..per label.try some of those rubbing creams...as well

Sharp pain in the bottom left side of my back?

So just recently, I breathe (like any human) and as i take in the air, i get a sharp pain, like needle going in for a quick hard poke and bam goes away, on the left side of my lower back. In the area right below my rib cage and above my hip bone? This pain does not allow me to complete my deep breath and i have to hold my breath until i know it wont hurt if i breathe in more or just suck it up and try to go past that pain and it goes away when i pass the pain. The pain usually lasts about 15 seconds. And it is only when i breathe in, so what could this be? My dad says it is the cold weather but why would i hurt in the left side of my lower back? Anything would be helpful, thank you!

Sharp stabbing pain on hand?

Basically spmetimes when I pull something or do something in an awkward position I get this sharp, strange pain. It happens like in the middle of the back of my hand like coming from my index fingers bone in the middle? Idk but it's really strange and after for sometimes like a day if I clench my fist it hurts from there

Sharp, stabbing pain in the middle of my right hand?

I woke up this morning with a sharp, stabbing pain in my right hand, kind of in the middle of my palm, but between my thumb and pointer finger. I don't know what caused it, unless I slept on my arm/hand and it messed up a muscle, but I don't know why that's the cause since I sleep like that every night. I googled around, and I thought it may be carpal tunnel, but this is the first time it's happened, so I don't think it would be carpal tunnel. Plus, I don't write a lot; the most I do is type, but even with that, I don't type entirely too much, same with texting. It stopped once I got up and took a shower, but now it's come back. It's very intense pain whenever I move my right hand in any direction or apply pressure to that area. The pain is secluded to my right hand, and there isn't any pain in my other hand or arms or legs. I think this happened before a very long time ago, but it hasn't happened since, and that went away within a day, I think. I've taken a couple Ibuprofen to see if it will get rid of the aching, but is there anything you'd recommend I do? Should I just wait it out or what? Please and thanks.

Strange, sharp, pain in my left hand middle finger?

That sharp stabbing pain sounds like nerve entrapment. Does the tip of that finger ever go numb?

I don't remember what my orthopedist said about which nerves cause what kinds of pain, but I believe the first couple of fingers (index and middle) are from carpal tunnel syndrome; the ring and pinky are from ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow (which is not your situation). Or it could even be median nerve involvement.

Suggest you let off repetitive stress activities and see how you fare. If it doesn't improve, pls see an orthpedist - a hand specialist.

How to get rid of nerve pain in the hand and arm?

Depending on what side the pain is on, it could be CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome) in which case you would need to stop doing redundant activities with your left hand unless you want surgery later on when it becomes irreversible. Now remember, this is only if you would per se do the same thing for hours every day or something like that.

now this is only if the pain is around the thumb. Even then, it might now be. Most likely it is just a pinched nerve, and if you just stop putting stress and using the left hand/arm as much, then it should feel better in a couple of days to a week. (:

There's a sharp pain at the base joint of my thumb when I pull it back or push it forward, but the pain disappears temporarily when I massage it. Would you have an idea of what's wrong with my thumb?

If you can follow these instructions and it illicits the same symptoms, yes I can.On the affected thumb, open your hand and hold it in front of you, palm upward.Flex your thumb, drawing it across your hand toward the pinky digit and into your palm.Simultaneously, bend your wrist laterally toward the pinky finger sideIf the maneuver reproduced the hurt, it is a positive Finkelstein’s test.If so, you’ve got “de Quervain’s Tenosynovitis.”It is a repetitive use syndrome, much like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome of the wrist or Tennis Elbow. It's being reported more because of the frequency of the thumb being overflexed in texters, video gamers and mouse users of computers.Treatment: rest. brace to stabilize and restrict motion around the thumb, oral anti-inflammatories, and/or steroids injected at the base of the thumb.

Sharp abdominal pain and throat/neck pain?

Pinched back muscles will cause the spine to press onto the nerves going to the organs, as they leave the spine, to cause pains in them. Pressure on the nerves to the stomach will make it release more gastric acid which is going to give you stomach pains. The back muscles connect with the neck muscles to also pull them tight which causes the neck muscles to get tight and that's the pressure on your throat to make it sore. Freeing up the back and neck muscles will get rid of the pains and keep them from happening again. Here's how to free them up:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about one minute, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For both- For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
