Sharp Pains In My Right Leg

Sharp pains in my right leg? Sudden?

For a few hours now, I've been getting these random sharp pains in my right leg. I don't think it's a cramp... those last a little longer, don't they? I got one a couple of hours ago and then it didn't happen again until about 10 minutes ago. Then I got another one about a minute after that, and another one 2 minutes after that. It's kinda freakin me out...

Any ideas what this could be?

Why do I have a sharp pain in right side of my right leg while running/walking fast?

These are some of the possibilities:Muscle imbalance: (Threat: minimal)Some muscles are stronger than the others, the weaker muscles feel pain and stimuli to grow and strengthen faster. Gentle exercise with adequate protein in diet should take care of this for you.Torn muscle/sprain: (Threat: minimal)A certain vigorous workout may have caused you to pull a calf/hamstring muscle. you will need to give it time to heal while incorporating general stretches. Do not exercise this muscle while in pain, of it may aggravate the pain and you won't be walking for weeks.Thrombosis/clot: (Threat: moderate-high)A clot may have formed in one of the arteries/veins of the leg in the calf. There is a possibility of this clot clearing out by itself. While the clot sitting there by itself is of no serious worry, the chance that it may dislodge and block a pulmonary or heart artery causing a PE or a heart attack, may be a cause of some concern.Hope none of this has freaked you out. To get a more accurate reading it's best to visit your doctor. Other than the above listed possibilities there may be other conditions that pose similar symptoms. Thanks for the A2A.

Sharp pain in my thigh when I cross my legs?

Tight muscles in your lower back are pressing onto the nerves leaving the spine and going to your legs to cause that pain. When you cross your legs you are adding that much pressure to the nerve to cause that much pain. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your back muscles to release the tight muscles pressing into the nerves and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do while sitting on a chair)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front, and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm as straight as possible. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, then release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

I had a sharp shooting pain when I put my right leg on the floor and now I cant walk, what could this be?

Thank you for the A2A.What could this be?I think this could be time you go see your doctor.Your doctor will need to look at your personal and medical history, take a detailed history of what led up too this event and note all the features associated with the event.  Then he will examine you and do a couple of basic investigations before he develops a working diagnosis on what the problem is.We could speculate all day but in the end you would still have to go see your doctor to get any answers and any relief.Generally speaking, sharp pains are associated with nerve impingements.  These can happen at multiple places along the path of the nerve, including the lower back from where the leg nerves emerge.Signs and symptoms associated with nerves can be very urgent or more chronic (long-standing).Any new, sudden, incapacitating and unexplained sensations or loss of function must be investigated by a licensed physician as soon as possible.Nothing is gained by wasting time.Good luck!

I have pain in my right upper leg and the right arm. What's causing this?

I could list 50 possible causes, and the next person add 50 more. It’s just too broad and vague. My first wild guess is how you slept or how you sit for long periods. Those who work at a desk with a computer often favor one arm and one leg, leaning just enough to the right or left, even a tiny amount, to have an effect all day, every day, that translates to pain. Most people also don’t have their chair at exactly the right height, nor their desk height, nor the monitor (they hunch down to peer at a notebook).Of course a DOCTOR can see your age, gender, weight, have you move your arms and legs, get your history, look at your eyes and mouth and ears, and maybe even order xrays.I usually tell everyone they are pregnant, just to show how absurd it is to ask for diagnoses online. But people tell me I can be too sarcastic.

Sporadic sharp shooting pain in shin area of right leg (not shin splints)?

hd it been from your hip, i would say sciatica but from your knee down... hummmm....

any shooting sharp pain i put on nerve pain... it tends to cause that sort of pain.. nerve damage... nerve compression, irritatin..... or trigger pojts that refer pain as well.... all of these things tend to cause radiating pain....

the big problem is WHY? that would be a reason to go to a doctor, specificaly a neurologist to see if you have nerve damage or something of the sort.....

Im not sure what else could be causing it... hopefully not a deep vein thrombosis... that could be very dangerous.... or PAD... pereiphrial artery disease... i cant spell.... but google will help you get there...

hang in there.. .

I have pain and numbness in my right arm and leg. What is causing this pain?
