I was dating a girl for a while and then we broke up. Then she had a douchebag bf that hurt her but they only dated for about a month. I know she really likes me and still has feelings for me. She says she wants to be together maybe in the future but is emotionally exhausted and wants to wait. She always makes jokes about how she hates romance and never wants to watch a girly romantic movie. I want to know if there is any way i can do nice things for her or maybe something to get her to want a relationship sooner.

I've been dating this girl for a little over 2 months now. We get along extremely well and for the past two months we haven't put a label on our relationship. It's not like we're pursuing other people, we were happy with each others' company. Recently I asked what she thought about getting a bit more serious and having a committed relationship. She tells me that she really cares about me, but doesn't want to deal with the responsibility of a committed relationship and constantly having to worry about how I'd feel if she were out talking with other guys. Now she wants to take a step back and we haven't really spoken much for almost a week. I've been respectful of her feelings and given her space. She's told me that she didn't think it'd be fair to me to continue a relationship with me if I wanted something more and she didn't. I don't know how to play this, I care for her a lot and don't want things to end, but don't like the idea of her being all kissed on by someone else

ask her to hang out with u some time, kinda like a date but let her decide for herself whether she wants it to be a date or not. then on ur "date" just be nice to her and show her it could be a good thing if you two were together.

I am in the same boat my friend. In my situation the girl told me she wasn't ready for a relationship yet, but for me to stick around because she needs time to heal from recent tramas. I'm going to tell you now, I decided to stick around and this has got to be one of the hardest things i've ever done in my life. I care for her alot, think about her all the time, and constantly want to make this work. But because she (they) pulled the friendship card it's up to them when they come around. Someone gave me a piece of advice here recently but I can't seem to grow a pair to do it. Tell her how you feel. Tell her to get ahold of you when she gets her prioritys straight Dont talk to her for a while My friend says this works almost everytime and it's the best way to get out of the "friend zone" Too bad I have trouble taking advice myself...

Not ready for what? She is your friend; therefore you are in a relationship, we call it friendship. Just be her friend. That’s what she wants right now.But don’t wait around for her either. You have made no promises to each other. Go out with other people. Don’t stop your life to wait for her to catch up. She may never, or she may end up heading out in a different direction. And if you are still available when - and if - she decides she’s back in the game, then you can explore a relationship with her.

I think you should stop thinking about dating her. She told you how she feels. That is your cue to be a gentleman and back off asking her out. If it were a really big deal, you could always quit your job and ask her out again, though that seems extreme as a dating strategy. Here's the thing. If you ask someone out and they say no, you must accept the no. That's the rule. If you are given a reason, you must accept it, even if you don't agree it is valid. Especially in a workplace environment. You run the risk of being written up for stalking or creating a hostile work environment if you persist in asking her out. Be smart. Find someone outside work to date.
