How do you get a shiny Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y?
There are a few ways to do this. Some are easier and more successful than other. However the most successful way I have done it is chain fishing.The idea of this is simple. Fish in a single spot consecutively without moving and successfully reel in a pokemon. When the battle starts you can run and then fish again. The more you fish in the same spot consecutively, the more chances you have to catch a shiny.There are a few things that can break a chain however:Reeling in too fast or too slow. This will result in an unsuccessful fishing attempt and you will have to start again.Nothing bites. If by no fault of your own, nothing seems to be biting, this would again be an unsuccessful fishing attempt and you will have to start your chain again.Taking a step in any direction. Even if you are surfing this factor ruins the chain as well. Since you are fishing in the same spot over and over again, moving at all between casts will reset the chain.Turning off the 3DS.One major downside to chain fishing is that you cannot catch non-water types this way. However there are more ways to do that:Horde chaining (sitting in a patch of grass and constantly using sweet scent. ) because you are encountering 5 pokemon at a time, the chances increase just out of number of encounters.Poke-radar chaining- This method comes back from Gen IV. The basic idea is that you chain the same pokemon using the pokeradar up to 40 times. After 40 consecutive encounters of the same pokemon, The odds of finding a shiny pokemon improve drastically (1/600 chance, 1/200 chance with Shiny Charm)There are other methods that can be used but this would be a novel. Pokemon x and y shiny charm?
I'm trying to get the shiny charm but I'm a little confused, I got the oval charm after seeing every pokemon in the regional, so do I just have to see every pokemon to get the shiny charm, or actually have them all? So far I have 567 caught and 608 seen? I have all of the starters (gen 1-6) and all the other pokemon from the bank, besides legendaries.

Let me tell you a story, In pokemon heartgold, I headbutted a tree. out popped a shiny pineco. remembering that it had explosion, I switched to my level 84 golduck which had damp. it used explosion but damp prevented it from happening. I threw a pokeball at it to see if I could catchit first try. it shook three times, then it popped out and used selfdestruct. I then made Godduck use false swipe which if you do not know, never let’s the pokemon faint, always leaving it with one health. it then used takedown and died from the recoil. first and only suicidal shiny I have ever encountered. there is a small chance of any of the catching tutorial pokemon to be shiny. the worst one is in gen 4 as you never see the pokemon Dawn or the male one captures again. Wally’s Ralts can also be shiny. and if you are really unlucky, he can accidently kill it with a crit. while shiny. then the classic no pokeballs. and then when you have no room left in the PC. There is also a video on youtube of a shiny mew using metronome, then teleport. there are also people who run away, don’t realize it is a shiny, or accidently soft reset a game. and then there was me. I traded my shiny manaphy I hatched from an egg in pearl when I was in grade 1 for a non-shiny bidoof named haha (it was because it looked funny, but it may have had another unintentional meaning) and a choclate bar.
How do i get a shiny froakie in pokemon x and y?
I have been trying to get a shiny froakie in pokemon x and y for about a week now. I started out breeding my greninja with a forign ditto. a couple of boxes full of froakies later, i switched my grninja, who is american, to a german one. that didnt work either. then i got a friend safari that had frogadiers. i spent countless hours, searching in there. i thought it might work because i had gotten a shiny stunfisk earlier. When i was searching i did the restraunts and got the perfect amount of turns and tipped $10000 each time. still nothing. If anyone knows any other tips to help me, please tell me. Thank you!
