Should I Apply For State Health Insurance Or Health Insurance Through My Job

How do I get health insurance?

Hi. I am a 19 year old low income female from Missouri. I applied on the Marketplace and it said that my state has decided not to expand Medicaid so I am no longer covered. It gives me two options: but a marketplace place or get exempt. The cheapest plan in the marketplace was still $378. I am a college student and working two jobs to cover my bills already and that’s not do-able. My mom just started a job and does not have health insurance either so I am not able to be on her plan. I would just go without and just use my exemption on my taxes; however, I have many health issues that make me a frequent doctor visitor. Not having health insurance is not an option for me. Is there something else I could apply for? I don’t really understand how all of this works. I know I can go privately but would about how much would that cost me? Thanks!

U.S Health insurance. My job is offering me Health insurance but i don't want it? "no tax penalty in 2019"?

Long story short, its a part time job but i meet the criteria/Hours for health coverage as required by The Affordable Care Act.

The coverage starts Nov 1, and by having the coverage i avoid the Tax penalties for not having qualified medical insurance.

but in 2019
" The Shared Responsibility Payment " / Penalty will no no longer apply onward.

Can i just enroll for the remainder of 2018 and opt out in early 2019? . i dont really make alot of money bi weekly so thats why for now i just want to see my options.

If I am under 26, can I stay on my parents' health insurance if I live in another state?

If you live in another state, your access to health care will be super limited if your parents have a plan elsewhere. Your other options for getting insured include:Getting a plan through your school or employer.Signing up through HealthCare, gov or your state’s exchange (where you’ll probably get some financial aid to help pay for premiums).Enrolling in a catastrophic plan, which provides minimal coverage for a reasonable monthly premium cost. (Note: You can only stay on this kind of plan until you turn 30.)Signing up for Medicaid if you meet the income requirements. This article has more details on your options. Good luck!

What happens to your health insurance if you get sick & can't work?

No, your former employer is flat out not allowed to keep you on their health insurance, once you are no longer an employee. This is an IRS law.

If your employer is subject to COBRA, you can keep the coverage, at your own cost, for up to 18 months.

Look, the idea that it's fine to go heavily into debt, to buy stuff we can't afford now, and continue to live paycheck to paycheck, with NO nest egg of AT LEAST six months expenses, is flat out stupid. Yes, it's quite possible you will lose your job tomorrow. Or get seriously injured. You NEED to be putting away 20% of your pay, NOW, every paycheck, AND DON"T TOUCH IT, until you've got six months of expenses - including but not limited to mortgage payments, taxes, rent, food, utilities, health insurance, car payments, etc.

YOU HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF. This is called "being responsible". If you're irresponsible while you're working, and DON'T live on less than you make, then yes, you're going to be FORCED to be irresponsible when you're not working, too.

Is it OK to stay on COBRA and decline group health insurance after getting a new job?

Actually, legally speaking you are ineligible for COBRA if you have access to another group health insurance plan with the only exception being that if the group health insurance plan available to you does not cover some item that your COBRA plan covers. Some common examples are infertility, coverage for autism, coverage for acupuncture/chiropractic, or limits on some type of coverage, etc.In practice no one really enforces this (as it's practically impossible) but there are companies that perform "eligibility audits" to try to kick pick off insurance that are not eligible and this is an area that they look at. So likelihood of actually getting caught is ~1-2%.

Moving from the UK to the USA? Health insurance?

So I want to move from the UK to the USA not now but in about 5 years. I’ve already researched what I’m going to have to do, but I’ve started saving, and I’m going to rent an apartment, and pay 6 months rent in advance so all I have to worry about is getting a job ect.

I know I’ll have to get a Visa, but I have no idea how health insurance works? Because I know I won’t have thousands of dollars to cover health care cost, is there something as insurance? Where you pay monthly to get free health care or something like that. Help?
