Should I Be Offended When Someone Criticize My Photography

Why do writers get so offended when you give critiques they don't like, even after they've asked for them?

The person who asked you to critique him knows you, and has made some unwarranted assumptions based on that premise. He assumed you would love what he wrote. He assumed you would find nothing to correct. He sailed blithely into the situation assuming that instead of critique he would get praise.None of these assumptions were true, and so he is blaming you. This is an entirely predictable response. You made some assumptions too; you took him at his word and assumed he wanted a real critique when what he wanted was praise. However, the weight of unwarranted assumptions definitely falls on his side of the scale.I don’t know if you want to tell him this or not, but someone should: until he stops thinking of his work as his precious baby that is not to be touched or criticized, and starts thinking of it as an unpolished, unfinished lump that has nothing to do with his ego he will never be professionally published.

Would British people be offended if someone criticized the Queen and called her a bloody dictator, cruel woman, killer of Diana etc in front of them?

Having read many of the answers here, I feel that the majority of responses are from republicans. They of course would feel indifferent to the disparagement of the Queen. I however am a Royalist, I believe in the Office of the Queen, I believe she has a very special place, without actual power. She has the final choice on the passage of any law passed by parliament. Both Houses are aware that she could if she wished refuse to sign an act thus making it law. The Queen, is our safeguard against unjust legislation. It has never been used however I am glad her power of veto exists. That said, it demonstrates that she is far from a dictator, she does not interfere in politics, she is the ultimate ambassador for the UK. She is a great patron of many many charities, as are most of her family. She is actually the owner of all Royal parks, the royal art collections and of course the crown jewels all of which was donated to and now come under the ownership of the nation. We seem to forget that family fortune passes from one generation to the next. Would any of you attempt to deny, the heirs to the Rockefeller fortune their birthright? So would I be offened? damn right I would be. I swore an Oath to defend Her Majesty, her heirs and successors, an oath I take seriously.

As a photographer do you accept constructive criticism on your photos or you get offended by it?

I love constructive criticism. I used to belong to Photo.net - Where Photographers Inspire Each Other which has a critique forum, and have gotten a few very good critiques there. A good critique should tell you what you did well, and how you could do better. However, I do have one major complaint about supposedly “constructive” critiques. My favorite subject is high speed flash photography of hummingbirds. Not flowers, not backgrounds. The bird, the whole bird, and nothing but the bird. This is an extremely “unnatural” way of approaching the subject. I want to reveal as much detail about the bird as I can. I usually say this when requesting a critique, because a lot of people just don’t get it. Even with my statement of goal.Photo copyright Gregory J. Scott — All rights reserved.Click to photo to see it at higher resolution. Now that photo isn’t “natural” at all. The bird is wild, and in flight. But the background is a piece of white cardboard. The wings don’t look blurry, because it is high speed flash. On the other hand, the photo is about the bird, and the details of the bird, and the color, and the composition, and a few other things like that.A comment that you prefer blurry wings, in this context, is not a critique, it is mere prejudice.

Photography ratio of good vs. bad pictures?

With digital photography it's very easy to snap snap snap and then throw away the duff ones.

If you're still learning to use the camera then perhaps its unsurprising, but slow down, review each photo after taking it, and try and understand WHY the duff photos are duff.

Sometimes its things that are out of your control, someone walks in the way, someone blinks at the wrong time, etc. As I've progressed I've found I take less photographs of a subject, but more of them are 'keepers'. I aim for around 60% of photographs are fit to give to a client, but it depends entirely on the situation.

(it's also possible your camera has a fault, if you're getting such a bad ratio when its set to AUTO, either there's something wrong with the camera, or you're very fussy!)

Why does my sister always criticize me?

she says since Im 19 I need to act like an adult.
I know I act like a child, I chase geese, I carry a stuffed raccoon around with me, Im hyper and sleep at 10. Ive always been this way.
I am on anti psychotics, and antidepressants. But my sister says that Im annoying and embarrass her.
but what the hell, I do her laundry, clean up after her and let her use my laptop

Without learning or taking course on photography is there any way to improve our photographic skills?

You cannot improve at anything without learning about it.

Why can't I accept criticism ?

Your problem may just be that your a very sensitive person and that you want everything you do to be perfect. I'm a perfectionist who had to learn that criticism though it may hurt and make me feel bad is for my own good. Even from the people who love and really care about me. You have to realize that the people who give you criticism aren't doing it to bring you down, but in a constructive/bettering yourself manner. Like one of my teachers taught me, my advice to you is "Sweetie, that's reality, that's life, you gotta learn how to suck it up and deal with it". Just keep your mouth shut and do better next time. If you get a bad grade on a test what do you do? Study and work harder. Apply this method to life and you'll be a better person because of it. Everyone is going to try to bring you down but it's your job to show that you can take it and stand on your own two feet. I wish you the best of luck!

Why do Libras suck at taking criticism?

Breathe Electric - you mad though? Edit your answer and take your zodiac sign out. It doesn't matter because even if you did not say you were a Libra, I still would have known by the way you responded. It's the exact same way other Libras have responded, and a good amount of them respond by saying something similar to "nobody wants/likes to be criticized."
Like I said in my previous additional details, nobody wants to be criticized, but it happens. There are many things that nobody wants/likes to happen, but it does. How do you handle it when the situation arises? That's what truly matters. Some people let criticism roll off their shoulders. Others take it constructively. And others feel the need to turn it around and start pointing out others faults. There are many people that actually handle criticism well, or have learned how to do so. Just because you don't doesn't mean that other people don't either. Not every criticism has to be interpreted as b
