Should I Be Taking Medication

How much food do i need to eat before taking medicine?

OK - this is my suggestion

I would first take the pain killer and would drink milk with this or yogurt or ice cream is fine too and then wait until the pain reliever kicks in (about 90min to 2 hrs) and then take the antibiotic with a cracker or something that will be easy to swallow since some antibiotic will not perform well with dairy products and since I don't know what you are on this doesn't help - sometimes if you list the medication that you are taking it helps

But if you have any questions about any medications - call your pharmacist - they should be able to help you always

Do you have to eat before taking medicine?

tylenol cold medicine should be okay to take on an empty stomach but in general taking
medication with food will lessen the chance of an upset stomach. keep in mind though that
some medication like ampicillin should be taken on an empty stomach. whenever you get
a prescription, your pharmacist should tell you whether you should take the medication
on an empty stomach or a with food.

Blood Pressure 146/84. Pulse 74. Taking medication for this. Should I be concerned?

Your heartrate is normal. Your BP is elevated but, not dangerously so (unless you are pregnant). If you aren't feeling poorly (headache, blurred vision ...) I wouldn't think that this is an emergency but, I would talk to your primary care provider about it. If you are on BP meds I would hope that it would be lower that that.

You should trend your blood pressures. Take it a couple of times a day for a few days to see where it sits on average. Many things affect your BP (stress, pain, illness ...) at any given time, that's why charted BPs are more helpful for your health care provider to see what is going on. Good luck to you.

Should I inform my employer that I am taking medication for depression?

Definitely not unless your job requires you to disclose personal medical information. If your depression requires modifications to your work and you live in the US, you are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Your physician can write a letter to your employer describing the specific accommodations you need. If you can still do your job with these accommodations, your employer should make them.I am taking various medications in the aftermath of a stroke. My employer knows I had a stroke because I was carted out of the office by the EMT’s. I was off work for 5 months disability and did a gradual return to work, starting at 8 hours per week. I am now working about 34–36 hours per week because I still have physical therapy and see other doctors periodically. It adds up to about 8 hours of medical stuff per week. My employer is accommodating my disability, but I am never specific about medications, procedures, therapies, etc.

Can you take medication while tongue piercing is healing?

by what I have found I would take a Pill Medication.. make sure you don't take it with alcohol though.. Hope this helps.. Hope you feel better

Here are some tips that will prove to be very useful, if you are deciding to get your tongue pierced.
1) Do not get your tongue pierced if you are on medication for Mitral Valve Prolapse, a heart problem.
2) Be careful about the food you eat, taking in solid food will cause friction against the piercing when you chew and this will delay the healing process.
3) Rinse your mouth with a non-alcoholic mouthwash twice a day after you get a piercing done.
4) Mouthwashes that have alcohol in it tend to burn the piercing and will delay the healing period.
5) Go in for a liquid diet till the tongue piercing heals.
6) Avoid taking in spicy and hot food until the piercing heals.
7) Applying ice on the piercing helps reduce the swelling to some extent.
Keep these points in mind and have a safe piercing experience.

Can i drink alcohol while I'm taking medicine?

Absolutely not if the doctor suggests you not because alcohol has a set of chemicals from yeast that act as a catalyst when you take medication. Some medication, you can, but I would not do it if I were you. Better yet, read the labels because the Food and Drug Act requires all medication for any side-effect with smoking, pregnancy, or alcohol.

How long should you wait to drink alcohol after taking medicine?

Always follow the directions. Most medicine is not good with alcohol so give it 5-10 hrs but then what does the bottle say?

How long should I wait to drink alcohol after taking medicines?

Ah this one question! There is no simple one liner to this for we have a plethora of medicines and ways they react with alcohol. Now if it’s a 20 years old asking this one or a 60 years old?!For the elderly, highly recommended to stay away from any form of drinking atleast for 72 hours. As we age the capacity of liver to metabolise the drug itself reduces, let alone alcohol. And for the rest of us, let’s divide it into categories for a quick glance.1)‘Don’t even think about it’Here are a few causing a reaction so strong they have coined a term for it- Disulfiram like reaction. Headache, vomiting, chest pain, breathlessness and worse!•Nitroimidazoles (Metrogyl mostly)• Cephalosporins (Third generation)•Antifungals•Propanolol•Vasodilators•Cotrimoxazole•Antidiabetics•Antiepileptics or antipsychotics•Immunosuppressive drugs2) Over-the-counter AntibioticsThose reading this, I assume, are not sick anymore and just forced into finishing the course with a party to attend! Here’s the deal- alcohol in moderation can be taken with common antibiotics (Amoxicillin/Azithromycin/Augmentin). But I doubt if it’s going to be a pleasant experience since the mild side effects like metallic taste are just going to worsen.3) Cold n’ Allergy medicationsNo matter how fancy the claims, almost all of these cause mild sedation. Alcohol exerts a synergistic effect only making you sleepier with a longer reaction time.Let atleast 8 hours pass before you hold that drink. And in case you’re going to drive- drop it altogether.4) PainkillersThe golden rule with NSAIDS (Ibuprofen/ Paracetamol/Aspirin) is never take them empty stomach. And whether you should mix them with alcohol depends on the duration you’ve been taking them for!•Close to a week- your stomach mucosa is too vulnerable to be exposed to alcohol. It might lead to an ulcer or GI bleed. Stay off.• A day or two- couple of drinks wont harm. Just make sure to eat along. The obvious be stated- it’s all a game of moderation. And I’m sure everyone knows where to draw the line. Stay safe.Cheers!

Can u drink milk after taking medicine(any medicine)?

Milk contains calcium, which is a divalent metal cation. This interacts with some medications and hinders absorption. Certain antibiotics are the worst (quinolines, tetracyclines). Levothyroxine and carafate are other big no-nos.

Most medication is fine, the packaging you with with your rx will indicate if dairy is a concern.
