Should I Be Worried Sudden Neck Pain Even When I Touch My Skin

Why do I get neck pain when I drink alcohol?

Fact 1: Alcohol addiction from two parts per thousand disguises the painThe central nervous system (CNS) is an important target organ of alcohol.Alcohol comes as a small molecule through each cell wall of the body, is quickly absorbed and quickly distributed in the body. For more detail visit this article. After drinking alcohol, it is already absorbed in the mouth and throat area. The main part, however, is absorbed by the body in the stomach and small intestine. How quickly alcohol is absorbed and thus also develops its pain-relieving effect depends on whether you have eaten before, as well as the type of alcohol.Carbonated drinks, such as sparkling wine, accelerate alcohol intake, as they mechanically irritate the stomach and intestinal wall and promote the circulation of the mucous membrane.Scientific studies have shown that alcohol attacks specific neuronal areas. This involves so-called receptors and signaling pathways of neurotransmitters.acetylcholineAlcohol causes a decreased acetylcholine concentration.Acetylcholine receptors are found on the musculature, brain and heart. The effect on the musculature leads to the known uncertain gait. The heart, in turn, beats slower. In addition, the unsafe movements probably also result from a reduction in blood flow in the cerebellum, which is responsible for the course and coordination of the motor system.dopamineAlcohol causes an increase in dopamine and thus a positive influence on the body's brain reward system as well as an improved moodSerotonin and norepinephrineAlcohol causes a decrease in the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine. This increases aggressive and depressive behavior.Endorphins and enkephalinsIncreased alcohol consumption leads to an increase in endorphins and enkephalins.

Upper neck/back/shoulder pain, sensitive skin, squishy bump?

I'm 18 years old, and for a few years if I were to stand or sit a while, of get an achey pain, kind of sharp, on my right shoulder near my spine, at the base of my neck, and the skin would be sensitive to touch, almost like a burn. Its gotten worse as I got older, and just recently I was pressing around it, and I found a small, squishy like lump right near my spine. When I squished it, it's almost as a teeter totter, like it'll lift up next to it. I can feel it move in another spot kind of. It's squishy feeling. This pain always hurts, but barable, but will get worse through out the day. Any ideas on what it could be? I get headaches often, and have bad anxiety, if that could be a factor?

Tip of my nose hurts when touch, any ideas?

You could have a pimple or ingrown hair up in there, that is quite painful when you touch the tip of your nose.

I got hit on the head and it hurts when I touch it, but there is no bruise. Should I be worried?

Yes. Go to the nearest Hospital right now, Please. I have had multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries. When your head gets hit, your brain hits the inside of your skull and bounces around, Your brain can bleed and swell inside your skull. You would not feel a bruise on the outside because you can’t feel inside of the skull where the damage is.Go to the nearest Hospital as soon as you can get a ride, do not drive yourself get a friend or relative to do so. A Taxi, Uber, Lyft or ambulance. Go to the ER. NOW

Can a muscular neck injury from pullups cause sharp ear pain and swollen lumps on the back of my head?

The sharp ear pain subsided after a couple days. Neck range of motion improved, too. But the number of swollen lumps on the back left side of my head have increased. They are painful. I think my scalp may even be upset - the hairs are sensitive. This is now 5 days after the I caused the strain while exercising.

What should I do (besides see a doctor)? If anyone has any knowledge of a condition like this, or can just explain the relevant physiology I will be grateful. Thank you.

What causes pain below my jaw on the right side? Could it be Hodgkin’s Disease? Its swollen under my jaw, on the right side, on top of the neck (compared to my left side). I dont have a flu/cough or any other symptoms and I'm putting on weight!

You should see a doctor and be examined.I can't put your mind at rest based on what you've said, but I can say that two common causes of what we doctors would call "submandibular swelling" are stones in the submandibular gland and tooth decay leading to an abscess. Both are statistically roughly twice as common as Hodgkins  which is about 30 cases per million people per annum.People with cancer of all forms typically lose weight, although there are always exceptions, and yes, some people with Hodgkins do gain weight. 1/2 the adult population manages to gain weight and does not have Hodgkin's disease so you can't make too much of that in isolation. The most common lymph node site affected by Hodgkin's disease is in the neck, however, Hodgkin's disease can also cause swelling of the groin or nodes of the underarm but these swellings are usually not painful and can feel rubbery. Like most cancers Hodgkin's disease can also cause fevers, night sweats, weight loss, and even generalized itching. Hodgkin's disease may cause lymph nodes in the chest to swell, which can't be seen or felt, but can cause symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain. Interestingly, some people with Hodgkin's disease will note pain in the lymph nodes after minimal alcohol consumption which appears to be something you've noticed. Please get a checkup ASAP.

What should I do if I cracked my neck and now it hurts?

By "cracked" I suppose you heard something go click or clunk.  This in itself may be a spontaneous release.  Although any release can change muscle length and then trigger aches and pains. It all depends on the type of pain.  If it feels like muscle pain and soreness then likely you have a muscle strain.  For home treatment you can apply ice pack, keep the head stable and get some rest.  P.R.I.C.E - Protection,Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation is the basic first aid.  You can perform isometric muscle test, hold your head still with arm and move against it gently.  Where you have pain is likely the muscle which is injured. For professional help your best best is a massage therapist with training in therapeutic (aka deep tissue) massage.  Alternately if it feels like a bone is in the wrong place you might seek treatment from a chiropractor or osteopath. If you feel any tingling sensation or loss of feeling then you could have some type of nerve impingement in which case you should first visit a medical doctor like your primary care physician first to get a diagnosis, and then likely back to chiropractor for adjustments.  Alternately go to an osteopath or chiropractor first. If you are in Silicon Valley area you can book a massage with me.
