If you know the model, just Google your own question.

How fast does a kawasaki klx 140 dirt bike go?

Manufacturers don't include top speed in the specifications on dirt bikes, it's not really something that matters off road, but just to guess I'd say 50 - 55. It most definitely won't run 90!!

Kawasaki klx 140 question?

Did the bike come with a trickle charger for the battery? You shouldn't need to replace the battery or clean the carb on a bike that new, although it is possible. If you don't have a charger go by one, they are not very expensive. These batteries are very small for weight reasons and tend to run down very easily. I don't think leaving the kill switch on would run down the battery, but if it has a key leaving that on would. Either way both should be turned off for safety reasons when the bike is not being ridden. I had a CRF230 years ago and had to charge the battery from time to time. I feel pretty sure that is your only problem.

KLX 140 engine start button does nothing?

The bike is a 2008 model and recently does not start. I know that the button itself is not bad because I tested it. The power button on the bike also isnt bad as i tested that as well. However the starter motor does turn, and the battery is good. The bike can be jump started, but the starter motor is not enough to fully start the engine. Are there any relays or switches that it could be? I've been at this for a while.

My bike's clutch lever has a set of 2 wires connected to it besides the cable. What is it for?

Did you ever try cranking you bike's engine when gear ~= Neutral & Clutch is locked ? If you try this you will notice that engine will never get cranked. Here lies the answer for your question. Those two cables in clutch lever assembly of your bike are connected to a switch. This switch is a contact based switched & outputs 1 if clutch pedal/ lever pressing >= 65% (this is including play & % pressing value is calibratable. It means Switch tells whether clutch is in open or locked position). Moreover, in the gearbox of your bike there is a switch, which is also contact based switch, & gives information about whether Gear is Neutral or not. So when gear is in neutral position lever closes a contact & switch outputs 1.The contact switch for cranking motor uses the information from these 2 switches & lets user crank the engine seamlessly. Let's define 2 variables, gear_box_Neutral_SW & Clutch_SW for gearbox & clutch contact switch. Logic is as follows:Case1: gear_box_Neutral_SW = 1 & Clutch_SW = 1 or 0 ---> Allow E-motor cranking. (actually these are two cases) Case2: gear_box_Neutral_SW = 0 & Clutch_SW = 0 ----> Do not allow E-motor cranking. (for obvious reason that E-motor & 12 V system's power would be drained out immediately without engine getting started. In short cranking motor can not be used for producing a driving torque)Case3: gear_box_Neutral_SW = 0 & Clutch_SW = 1 ----> Allow E-motor cranking of the engine.

KLX 140 bogs out of no where?

KLX 140L bogs out of no where. ?

Just bought a klx 140 used. Ran great past week. Even rode it yesterday and it ran great. I get on it tonight and has trouble starting. Bogs where it never bogged. Has FMF pipe as only mod I believe. I drained the gas and poured new gas and sea foam in. Didn't help so far. Should I tear the carb apart or wait a bit? It doesn't bog with choke so it's lean but I have no idea how it could have gotten like this. It was perfect, now it's crap.

Jump starting a dirt bike?

I won a 2009 kawasaki klx 140 about 6 months ago and never ridden it. I've tried to start it, but to no avail. i'm assuming the battery has gotten discharged since its been sitting there for 6 months. I was just wondering if it was possible to try and push starting it like a manual trans car or jump starting it by hooking jumper cables to the bike's battery. Is the battery still salvageable after sitting there for 6 months? If not, how much would a replacement battery cost? thank you.
