Should I Buy A Acer Laptop

Which Laptop should I buy?

These are the 2 choices available to me due to limited electronics shops where I live. I like to game: League of legends, Minecraft (nothing too intensive), and do alot of Software development using tools like Android studio, Visual studio, SQL server etc.

Both are Aspire V3:

Option 1

ACER ASPIRE V3 572G 56A3 15 6 FHD (1920x1080)
Multimedia Notebook Intel Core i5‐5200U 8GB 1TBHDD
GTX840M‐2GB DVD+/‐RW 802.11ac+ BT 7HrsBat WIN8.1
Option 2

ACER ASPIRE V3‐572G‐77T0 15.6 FHD (1366x780)
Multimedia Notebook Intel Core i7‐5500U 8GB 1TBHDD
GT840M‐2GB DVD+/‐RW 802.11ac+ BT WIN8.1
They are almost the same price, however the trade-offs are the resolution for the processor speeds. Is it worth stepping down a processor just for a better resolution? What are the drawbacks of such a high resolution on an i5?

Should I buy this laptop or a ps4?

Should I buy the Acer aspire v3-571g 6622 or a ps4. I am leaning on the ps4 side because of game exclusives and not having to worry about not be able to run new games. I would rather get the laptop if it can run the new games coming out soon. Which would you recommend and can the laptop run games like assassins creed 4?

Should I buy a demo laptop?

It's half the price of a brand new one. It comes with two years' warranty, so at least I can get two years of use out of it. But it's been on display for one and a half year.

What is your opinion about Acer laptops?

I've had/have two Acers. The first was a Core2Duo era, with Nvidia 8600gs, and the second- is my i5 with Nvidia 840m. In between, I've owned an ASUS Transformer (tablet/laptop), and an HP Pavilion with AMD parts. I also had a Lenovo Bay Trail windows tablet. In my household, there has been also been other Toshiba's, HP's, and Acer's. From cheap to the MacBook pro class HP Spectre. I've also touched many a random laptop.I wanted an ASUS, not an Acer. (For my i5 Laptop)- But the Acer fit the bill right. It had/has exactly what I needed, at a great price- plus on sale. (aaannd some warranty $$ from the old HP). Anyway...My observations, from earlier in life, were that Acer was cheap, and did not last long/was not as durable.I've changed that view. The Acers i've used have all been on par with any HP,  or Toshiba i've used (or others). I still like ASUS, but I've seen the ASUS version of my laptop (after my purchase) and it is in no way better. (But no worse!).Oh, they all make you pay out the ass for repairs. If I was concerned (bad) I'd get an accidental warranty (expensive)- else, I'd save my repair $$, and buy a new one. They get better every year! *grumble,* $350 repairs on $300 items. Anecdote: Remember when I said that I used to think Acers were bad? I used to think Toshibas were good as well. Every HDD swap I do is Toshiba. I even joked that my friends PS3 that had a dying HDD was Toshiba. When we replaced it (With a Western Digital), it was Toshiba. This advice is when you are looking at the same $$$. You can't pull the ol "Mac vs PC" classic, where someone argues a $600 machines vs a 1.2k machines. Generally $$ = quality. More so when there is no clear cut stand out.Quality Parts: I need to address this. The Screen, Ports, and Case are all on ACER- however when you are talking about the processor, or the Video card- those components are not made by Acer. They are "as-is" from Intel or AMD, or Nvidia. So you should not be worried about those dying anymore form brand to brand. Literally only bad Airflow (case design) can impact the performance of these core parts from brand to brand.
