Should I Call In Or Go In

How do I call into work because I'm moving?

Sorry in advance, this is gonna be long:

So two months ago I requested a day off, because I'm moving apartments and need to be there to sign my new lease, and get moved and all. Well a week later I put in another request off for a week of vacation (I still had not heard back about the request for the move date) & got a response the next day and was told no I couldn't have that week off, but still had not gotten the move date request back. So I asked about it, and my boss said that she would check on it, and I when I FINALLY got a response back from that, it was declined because there are already 2 people off (which doesn't make any sense to me because last week there were 5 people off work, & when I put the request in, there wasn't anyone off), but she said that she would "work something out". Well here we are, 2 months later, with my move date this Friday, and nothing has been "worked out." I've asked about it, and she said she didn't know, and kind of brushed it off. So my boyfriend and a few co-workers told me I should just call in sick and go on with the day, moving and all. I agree, I just don't know what to say. Because if I say I'm sick, my boss is going to know that I'm calling in because I need to move, & I'm afraid she'll threaten to fire me if I don't come in. I don't know if I could say I'm calling in for personal reasons, or I don't know. Any ideas?

Should I call in sick at work to go to my friend's party?

Okay so one of my good friends' birthday party is on Friday, unfortunately my job also scheduled me to work this Friday from 6-11. I work at a grocery store btw, and I'm 16.

I've never called in sick before, and I've been working there for about 4 months, so not too long. My grocery store has a union, so it's hard for them to fire people for no good reason.

Should I call in sick? Yes it's just a party, but she's one of my good friends and I don't wanna miss it.

And if I do end up calling in sick, what are some good excuses? I'd been thinking stomach flu/food poisoning, but are there any other more believable ones?

Should I call to see if a job is hiring or go in person?

yeah im also looking for a job .. i called this one company and they said there are no vacancies until .. so and so date. i goes down to the company the same day and walks in and ask if there are any vacancies a lady behind the reception gave me an application form , i feel its best to go in to a company rather than call and sometimes they do judge you by appearance which they shouldn't really happens to me most of the time yet i go in with my hair down dressed al woman like and they don't even recanise ya .. makes me laugh. but yeah go down and get a form or pop in a C.V or you can use the post or websites . good luck.

Should I call in sick at McDonalds?

We are in Winters break and my throat is hurting and I have a cough that occurs at least every few minutes. It hurts to eat stuff and earlier I felt like throwing up.

My question is since I have only been working at McDonalds about 2 months, would it be okay to call in sick about 4-5 hours before I am supposed to show up? I have worked really hard this week and they are legally only allowed to give me 20 hours, and I already worked 14 of those hours this week, so they gave me the last 6 tomorrow from 3-9. Would it be in my best interest to call?

The reason I ask is because it has only been 2 months and I haven't worked the last few days (Last time I worked was Tuesday), so will they think im faking it?

And what would I say when I call? Ask for the manager and say I feel really sick and have a bad cough.. and will I be payed for those hours?

Do you call people before you come over or do you just show up?

If the person is far away, and I have a specific reason, I will call to make sure they are at home before I go (for my own convenience). however, if it is someone close by , it is customary to just stop by open the door and shout “Hello. Excuse me!”I can’t remember the last time a neighbour ever called me before stopping by - only people from out of town who were making the journey specifically to see me would make an appointment. If they are just passing through, or if I am passing through their town on other business, I will pop my head in and say hello. If they are not busy we might sit and have a chat and tea.Sometimes I will be driving past someplace and remember “Oh I have not seen XXX in a while!” so I stop an stick my head into their door and give a shout out to say hi. Sometimes it results in an hour of tea, sometimes just five minutes of chit-chat.In fact, it seems rude to call a neighbor rather than just go to their house. Usually I will wait until I see them just getting home or outside, so I know they are not settled and cozy in bed or something, but calling is more rude.

If you call a phone with a dead battery, will it ring or go straight to voicemail?

all depends on your service provider. Some will ring some will not. But 7 - 8 rings is a lot of rings. My service provider will give you about a ring, and a half then voice mail. My old service provider went straight to the voice mail.

Should I buy call options when I expect the stock to go down or to go up?

Thanks for the A2A. When you buy options, the simplest trade-off you are making is leverage vs. a finite time horizon. There are other nuances, but basically, that is the most important consideration. Most of the time limiting your time horizon is a mistake. There can be occasions where buying long-term options (LEAPs) can make sense, but those are infrequent in my view.So unless you really know what you are doing and have thought it through, owning the underlying stock is by far the safer path.
