Can I wear earrings in softball?
Depends on the leagues rules. On my hs team the umpires wont allow you to wear any jewelry at all, but some travel teams and club teams will allow it. Keep it in during practices(unless your coach has a rule) but during games take it out, just make sure to put it back in right after.
Which is better Softball or Dance?
I have played softball for 7 years now. And i have only danced for 2. And i'm 13 now and i have to decide between both of them? And i love both of them. When i'm on the softball diamond i feel strong, but when i make a mistake it gets carried with me for the rest of the day and sometimes the week!! but, everyone in my family plays softball or baseball. And when i dance i feel beautiful and happy, but sometimes i don't want to go to dance lessons at ALL. but at my recital my mom said that she cried watching me dance, which she of course never does at softball. My parents said that they don't care what i do as long as i'm happy, but i don't no what i want!? I would like someone else's opinion, please!! P.s. i only have 2 weeks to make my decision!
Should I join the softball team?
If you can fit it in your schedule, then go for it! Softball is a great sport that is a lot of fun. Don't worry too much about skill because even if you're terrible, all the girls still give you high fives and cheer for you. It's a pretty relaxing sport too, and you said you already play volleyball, so it's good that you are already athletic. Girls are always doing chants and stuff and they seem to really enjoy themselves all the time, even if they lose. It's also a great way to make new friends aswell. If you have some athletic ability, you can help the team in some way. I say go for it and good luck!
Is 13 too old to start playing softball?
The thing people say about things being harder when you are older only really counts for learning a new language since children pick up languages quickly just like they do when learning English. But it is never too late to start softball. Your friends dad being a coach can be a huge advantage to you and with practice and determination, you will make the team. I started to cheerlead for the first time a cople years ago and that is a sport that should be started at a young age cause tumbling (doing flips) can be difficult to learn. But my sis has been cheering for 7 years and she helped me and I gave tryouts my all and I ended up being a really great cheerleader. People thought I'd been cheering for years! So I believe in you and think you can do it. Good luck(:
I want to be a softball player, but I'm 16 and I've NEVER played before or had experience, what can I do?
Practice until you are sick of looking at a softball, take a break, hydrate and practice some more. Vary the practices so they don't get boring; fielding one day, batting the next, fitness the next.Remember that practice doesn't make perfect unless it's perfect practice. Work on the basics for your position but don't ignore the things others do at there's. As an outfielder handling ground balls is a low percentage of your duties but you must still learn the right way to do it. Take a turn behind the plate and on the pitching rubber so you know what it's like and what they see; you can't have too much information or too wide a depth of experience. When you are finished practicing, watch the best players actually playing. There's much to be learned by watching best do their job but stay away from odd routines. Hunter Pence's pre-at bat routine works for him but no one else.Fitness should include a lot of running. I know running is annoying and I never found it fun but it is essential. Include sprints and stairs as wellLateral agility training is needed as well so talk to the football coach about what he uses for such things but no sleds or anything that would slow you down.I know there's a trend to lots of weight training but I favor using lighter weight and doing more repetitions. I'm a believer that long muscles are better for baseball and softball that bulging muscles that lack flexibility.Like everything in life the only way to improve is to practice and continue to set goals for improvement. Good luck.
Can I have acrylic nails while playing softball?
I'm one that really discourages nails but if it doesn't interfere at all then there is no worry but in my years I have found even short acrylic nails are distracting but then again I was a pitcher. But I still am one that would tell you to shy away from them because sometimes just the foreign objects on Your hands are distracting. Your fingers feel different and plus after good hard games they will be dirty anyway.

What is the difference between a softball glove and a baseball glove?
Softball gloves tend to be slightly larger than baseball gloves and have a larger pocket and web area. But there really is no need to get a softball specific glove. I’ve played softball for nearly 40 years and started using my old baseball glove from my high school days. All of the subsequent gloves I bought for softball, including my 1st base glove, were actually baseball gloves that were broken in using a softball. I happened to like the way the gloves fit better than the softball gloves I could find. And if the choices of my hundreds of softball teammates over the years are any indication, they are perfectly happy using baseball gloves for softball. It doesn’t work quite as well using a softball glove for baseball. The ball can get “lost” in the glove and might slow the glove to hand transfer of the ball. Also, once a glove is broken in for softball, it won’t function quite as well for baseball.
How do you make an accelerated softball team a nonprofit with a 501(c)(3) so that it can get donations from businesses to go to tournaments?
Not easily.501(c)(3) status, which exempts the organization from paying taxes and allows it to receive tax deductible contributions from donors, is only available to public charities or private foundations…that is, organizations that are specifically set up to benefit society by undertaking exclusively charitable, educational or religious activities. That’s why the government is prepared to subsidize them by forgoing the tax revenue it would otherwise collect from them and their donors. There are many organizations that are not designed to make a profit themselves (and hence are technically “not-for-profit organizations”), but are also not designed to be charities. This includes things like merchant trade associations, some angel investment groups, and even, for many years, the National Football League (that is, the league itself, rather than the individual teams.) It is highly likely that your softball team would be considered to fall into this category, and while it can register as a not-for-profit under section 501(c)(7) as a “social or recreational club”, doing so will not let you receive tax deductible contributions, which is what you are trying to do.In order to obtain tax exempt status from the IRS, you would need to show that your primary purpose was to benefit society as a charity. Perhaps you could do that by proving that you charge admission to all of your games and donate 100% of the proceeds to other charities, or that you only play exhibition games in hospitals for terminally ill children, or that your team is made up of all ex-felons and you donate your time to coach and rehabilitate them. You could also do it if all of your players were children (enabling it to fall under the “educational” category.)But other than that, my guess is that you will have a pretty hard time convincing a skeptical IRS auditor that you should be tax exempt.
