Am i too fat to do gymnastics?

i am 16 years old and 5 ft 3, i weigh 104 and my dad (i live with him) tells me that i cant do gymnastics again because i am too fat.. i have a pic

is there a certain weight requirement needed for gymnastics?
should i go through with joining again even tho my dad doesnt want me to? i need opinions please

Should i do gymnastics?

Yes, just go for it!!! Gymnastics is awesome. Its a great way to have fun and work out. I started when I when I was 15. I thought I would be too old too. But there is also a guy at my gym who started when he was in his 20's. Its a really fun way to stay in shape. Most gyms are for all ages. It may just look like its only little kids because of lack of older kids being interested in starting lessons.
And I couldn't do a cartwheel when I started either. At least I thought I couldn't. When they told me the right way to do one I was doing almost perfect cartwheels my first lesson. Its not that hard.
And if the beginners class at your local gym is full of little kids then ask if you can sign up for private lessons. Thats what I do. You get to learn a lot more when your working one on one with a coach anyway. And with private lessons you can ask just to learn floor and trampoline stuff like flips and cartwheels. Thats also what I do. I don't do bars or anything like that.
So just go for it! You'll regret it for the rest of your life if you don't.

How often should I do gymnastics?

Hey! This may seem frustrating, but getting your splits can, and most likely will, take around 3-4 months. This may seem discouraging, but you have to be persistent if you really want them! Stretch as often as you can. Some people have naturally more flexible muscles than others, so they can get them faster. DO NOT PUSH TOO HARD! if you stretch too intensely everyday, you can severely damage your muscles or pull them. i suggest stretching out your inner thighs everyday for about 5-10 minutes. If you stick to this, you will have your splits in no time. i have both left and right splits down and it took me about a year to get them. I didn't stretch everyday though, so if you do, you can get them a lot faster than i did. make sure to warm up before you stretch too, because you can permanently injure yourself if you don't. Work on it everyday! hope you get them soon!!

How often should I do gymnastics?

Hello so I get injured pretty easily and it might be because I do gymnastics everyday, sometimes at like 10pm I would go outside and do gymnastics on the trampoline and wake up with a sore body, I think that I am over-doing it, what do you recommend?

yes you should.

Should i do gymnastics or basketball?

Its your choice. Basketball is a great sport, but gymnastics is also great.
