How do I install CyanogenMod without Google Apps?
I'm using cyanogenmod without Gapps in Samsung galaxy grand duos GT-I9082.How I did it?Flashed custom recovery Philz touch via Odin.Flashed SuperSU.zip via custom recovery.Downloaded and placed CM 12.1.zip file on my SD card.Rebooted phone in recovery mode.Performed Wipe data/cache partition/Dalvik cache.Installed CM 12.1.zip by choosing 'Install zip' option.Rebooted phone.That's it!! Installed unofficial CM 12.1 on Samsung galaxy grand duos GT-I9082.It's smoother than custom ROM and many customisation options available which is not in Actual Android OS.Installed Shared_it.apk (for sharing via WiFi) and transferred required Apps like WhatsApp, Quora, Facebook.... Owing to the absence of Gapps you can't use some Apps. Thats nota big issue. I can make call/Message via GSM Network SIM, WhatsApp, Skype.... Browse/download with UC browser.Audio player, video player,Galary...I did it!!!
I have Cyanogen 12.1 on my Yureka Plus. I found a Cyanogen 13 (unofficial) file as Cyanogen has been closed. Do I need to root my phone to update it?
NoThere is no as such need for rooting your device to install unofficial build of Cyanogen Mod or any other Custom ROM, however unlocking the bootloader is a must for you to do to install custom recoveries like TWRP, CWM, Philz Touch etc..And from custom recovery you need to wipe the system, user data, cache, dalvik cache and data directories of your device to flash the unofficial build of Cyanogen Mod 12.1 else you might end up either with a bricked device or your device in a bootloop.Hope this helps! Here are the stepsRoot your phone : you can do this by going in recovery mode and flashing superuser or using any third party app like kingoroot it will be very simple or by using laptop(warranty will be voided)Download a custom cm12 ROM for your device (search on xda developers and also read all information given there and also download all files given there )Put rom in external storage go in recovery mode and select 'apply updates from external storage ' find your cm12 zip file and flash it also flash all other files which you have have dowbloaded with cm11.zip they will fix bugsNOTE :please back up your phone befor doing all that bcoz there may be bugs in rom so you may have to come back to your backup ,you can do backup by going in recovery mode and selecting backup phoneread all info given on xda developers site or from where you download rom in many cases you have tl wipe your data and cache that will be written thereYour phone may be get stucked in bootloop i.e. stucked on the cyanogen logo solution will also be there on the site these all things are specific for every deviceAt last if still there is any bug in rom post it on xda developers and if it is not get solved restore your backup by going in recovery modeIf any step is not clear to you then you can search that on google it wil be easy
After flashing a custom ROM, my phone is unable to detect a SIM card. What should I do?
There are three possible explanations for this. Assuming your sim card is not defective.It might be the result of slight deviation during the flashing process or,The problem lies in the ROM itself or,Your phone is damaged.To determine where the problem is, clean flash the latest version of that ROM again and check if the problem persists.If it's still there, it's either the fault in the ROM or your phone. Check the forums and threads relating to the custom ROM you're flashing to get a better idea. If nobody else has the same problem as you, then it's definitely the fault in your phone. What should I do? I was trying to root my HTC One, but due to some errors it failed terribly and the screen is blacked out and mobile isn't booting.
Even I have HTC one. And i had initially flashed cyanogenmod 11 on my one with the installer. It was a plain simple process. But after few days I wanted to revert back to the HTC one stock rom as the beats audio and HTC sense camera feature had not been incorporated into cm11.So now my device was having a unlocked bootloader. I tried flashing HTC stock Rom but it went into a loop and stopped at a black screen. I crawled through number of xda forums and then I got to the crux of the issue. HTC devices have a S-OFF/ON feature.
