Should I get rhinoplasty (nose job)?
Hi, I've recently been considering getting a nose job. Well, not recently actually. Ever since elementary school I've always wished that Id had a different nose, but it wasn't until I was 13 that I'd started thinking about getting a nose job (yea, young right?). All my life I've been picked on and had to deal with comments about my big nose. Especially at school, but even with my family sometimes. My grandma will say something like, "stop making your nostrils flare like that" every now and then, even though I'm not. I just have a big nose and big nostrils. Now that I'm older, I don't get as many comments about it at school, but I'm still very insecure about my nose. I know I'm not ugly though. I've actually done modeling in middle school to 9th grade, but quit when a girl said something about how big my nose was, and a lot of the other girls agreed. It's really just something I've always wanted to fix. I'm 17 now, 18 next month, and I was thinking about getting a nose job. I like the shape of my nose, I just want it smaller. What do you think? It's also important for me to get it by next year, because I have a job now where I am going to be doing some modeling again, and other things where I'm going to be in some videos. I also wanted to do it before college. I'm going to be going out of state, and that way no one will know the difference (except of course people at home). I've already talked to a doctor and everything, and I know the risks. Again, What do you think?
How long after lasik can I get a rhinoplasty?
Oh wow, ask your doctor who perfomred the lasik this question first! But I dont think that has anythingthing to do with it! My advise... wait atleast 6 weeks for full recovery... just incase you know! Good Luck!

Go for it. I had an older cousin get a nose job once opon a time. No one cared. The only people that I think would care would be other girls. But girls are just drama-whores and hate-mongerers and get jealous about everything.

17 year old getting rhinoplasty (nose job)?
When you get home you should rest in bed with your head elevated for the first day, and then limit your movements to around the house for the next two or three days. Moving about too much may cause bleeding, and will also increase your pain. In the first 24 hours after surgery your face will feel puffy, your nose may ache and you may have a dull headache. Cold packs can help relieve the discomfort. When you are discharged you will most likely be given a prescription for pain medication, which will minimise your discomfort. You should take only the pain medication prescribed, and eat before you take it or it might upset your stomach. Eat lightly for the first few days after surgery and then resume your normal diet. Make sure you get plenty of fluids. You will return to the surgeon's office within the first week after surgery. During your first visit he will remove any packing you may have, remove the splint from your nose and re-tape the top of the nose and probably remove your sutures. You will have follow-up visits on a regular basis over the next year to ensure the desired result is maintained. You should plan on minimal activity for at least 48 hours after surgery. The swelling and bruising around your eyes will actually increase at first, peaking at about three days, post-surgery. Most swelling and bruising should disappear within two weeks. Some subtle swelling will remain for several months, but only you and your surgeon will be aware of it. You should resume your normal activities as soon as you feel comfortable. After two weeks all your dressings will have been removed and you will notice a change in the shape or size of your new nose. It will take a number of months for the skin of your nose to fully "re-drape". At this time you will see the final result. Goodluck!!!

I'm feeling bad now. You guys are right, it is unacceptable. I feel naive and shallow. Although, wasn't going to ask her right away. I was going to ask her later on down the line. I should have pointed that out. I was always chubby in high school and first few years of college, I never got girls. I was always insecure , intimidated, absolutely scared of females. Now the story is different, females are physically attracted to me (not being conceited). I even got asked to model 3 times this quarter. The reason why I am dating her in the first place is because of her personality/intelligence. If I were to get serious with her I know that our lives would be good. And by all means, I could definitely live with the current situation. I do know that she is definitely a better person than me and can do way better. She's experienced many hardships. She probably will break up with me. I think I need to work on my shallow side.

Do you regret getting a nose job?
I got a septoplasty and rhinoplasty at the same time about 30 years ago. When I was a teenager I really wanted a “nose job” but my dad wouldn’t let me. So when I got married I worked at a teaching hospital, where it was offered for free, if I agreed to let students observe. I agreed, I trusted the surgeon who would be performing the operation. I woke up hours later in a private room at the end of the hall on the surgical floor, all taped, bandaged and black and blue. The doctor came in and asked if I liked my new nose, are you kidding me, you couldn’t see it with all the tape & packing!! But he went and got a mirror and made me look, I could see it a little. Well, much later after it’s all healed, I am SO happy with it. It is one of the best things I have ever done for myself, and would do it again without a second thought. I look better but also can breathe better.
