Should I give up on trying to be a model?

But thats my opinion when you consider that, some areas may blow you off. And usually to let you know the reality lol family lies lol to make you consider higher! But if they arnt wait til your rookies yr of excessive tuition! Thats what i would do! So the place do you reside in Missouri?

Should I give up on modelling?

You could become a face only model, or you could study drawing fashion, then you can still sort of work with models or model yourself. I wanted to be a model at 19, and I regret not pushing it, I was so insecure, but I was 178 centimeters, I should have done it. With your height it might be tough. Anyway, there are so many things you can do in life. Don't feel forced to choose something. Modelling is a tough industry. I went to uni and in the end I regret not doing something simple like gardening or carpentry.

Should I give modeling a shot?

I think you should follow your dream and do what makes you happy. Your passion will help lead to success. I have two friends, one is a hollister model, she was asked to do it by a store manager because she had the look they wanted. Most clothing store models are asked by the store themselves to do it. You will need a portfolio to model for a fashion label or agency. Send in your best pictures that show a varoety of poses and looks, you'll need some creativity in your pictures. You can go to fashion school or a college to major in fashion design, photography, etc. Take classes in fine arts and communication before taking advanced fashion design classes. You'll need to pay a fee to send in a portfolio or get an appointment for a modeling agency and those can be expensive, starting in the hundreds of dollars, and there's no guarantee they'll accept you. At your age, I'd recommend developing your drawing, sewing, and other art skills through high school classes or other activities. Also consider working at a clothing store that has store models, such as hollister, abercrombie and fitch, etc.

Should i give up my dream of modeling?

Dont give up. The only thing that can prevent you from reaching your dreams is your attitude. If you think positive you will receive positive results. I am a model and although not supermodel I do work for an agency in florida and have won many pageants including the chance to compete for Miss Florida USA. Take it from me. My parents have always supported me but there are always negative people that will tell you that you can not achive your goals. That is when you have to prove wrong, and prove yourself right. Keep searching and you will eventualy come across your opportunity.

Should I give up my modeling/photography dream while in the military (Air force or Navy, not yet decided)?

Pursuing your love of photography should be no problem, although if you are serious I would definitely buy a camera of your own rather than rely on borrowing one. Most base community centers did have dark rooms at one time, but with even most professionals switching to digital, they may have become a thing of the past. However, most community colleges and local community centers (civilian) offer classes in photography, which you can certainly take on your free time.

As for modeling, that will be much tougher. While you will have free time, military work schedules can be odd and they will not change or adapt your military schedule so you can work as a model..the military will always take priority, period. While active duty, it would be nearly impossible to do more than local modeling simply because you could not garuntee being at a shoot when you were supposed to be (even leave can be cancelled and it would only need to happen once to damage your credability in that field). Also, since you would more than likely be spending time overseas at some point..be it deployment or assignment to an overseas base..that would impact your availability as well.

I can say from personal experience that working on photography can be done. While in Japan, I worked as a studio assitant to another family member who did portrait and group photography. We were even able to do so theme shoots and romantic photos for wives to surprise their hubbies with. It was great fun and a good way to earn extra cash. My advice, if you join, take time to really learn your equipment. Get a decent digital and look into what sort of photos you want to do..will you need lights, etc. Take a class or two on Photoshop and get the best version you can afford, along with a decent laptop. Learn the craft. If you want to model, volunteer for things like local charity fashion shows, mall shows, etc and go from there.

QUITE SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND HOW IT WORKS.If You would like to learn how 3D modelling works, an ideal program to learn is, SketchUp. (The free, online version is all most people need). Just sign in with your Google account.SketchUp FreeHere is how it works. You look at your screen to see an object, (say the truck above) using your mouse like a game controller you can zoom in and out of that object, rotate anywhere around it, and pass through it. At any stage in that process you are able to totally manipulate that object with a set of tools, (About 30) from a digital tool box. There are things you can do that you cannot do in reality, such as pass through walls rather than through doors. There is also an X ray tool.Simple to understand and not much harder to do (If you don't mind using up vast amounts of time, because of the sheer joy of using it).For more detailed information on how it works.Who uses SketchUp, and why?For a good example of its use.Narrow boat Pullman-style" dinette - does anyone have typical dimensions they can share so I don't leave too little space?Canal narrow boat.

Should I give up university to model?

you can have some better options than giving up university, for example:
-you can be a model and study in university both at same time together, that for this you need to move to london ,change your university and go to a university in london and start your modelling career too.
-also you can firs finish your university courses and then start modelling if you still want it on that time.also you can have a job that is related to your education subject beside your modelling (of course if you like to) , it wouldn't cause a problem.

anyway I think it's better don't give up your education, then you can get a job if you are tired of modelling one day by the way even with continue studying you still have the chance of being a model.
good luck!

It really depends on what you want out of it.Getting a paying job in 3d — particularly in games, where the competition is fierce. If you’re self-teaching in Blender and you don’t feel like you’re making progress, the likelihood that you’re on the track to a paying job isn’t great. However you may get a lot more energy out of being part of a larger project — an indie game, a student film, or just a local developer group. Working in isolation is tough (and it’s psychologically harder when you compare your self-taught efforts with the best work from Hollywood or the games business). A group project gives you some momentum, a chance to learn from colleagues, and a little bit of external pressure to keep you productive. But, if you’re looking for a new creative outlet — well, that’s a lot more of a personal thing. 3d definitely is a lot of work and time — but so is programming or web dev. Depending on your temperament you may find one of the more techie, less artsy options more satisfying or more puzzling and frustrating. If you really want to go down the dark path, become a technical artist or start an game project in Unity and see where that takes you. You’ll at least find a good test case for seeing how 3d and development go together and which one really suits you better. In neither case, though, are you going to be reveling in your new-found free time.

Did they tell you what sort of look they needed? Certain agencies specialize in certain kinds of work, such as photo shoots or even local fashion shows. The criteria for a high fashion photo shoot are different from a local fashion show, where they may want a diverse mix of genders, body types and ethnicities. There are a few legitimate training approaches for modeling - you might want to try researching the topic online if you are really determined to do this.If you live in or near a large city you can try to contact the show runners of a fashion show and find out which agencies they recommend. Good luck! In the meantime, if your desire to model is based on love of the fashion world. try taking some classes in fashion, hair and makeup, some dance classes that will develop a graceful body type and walk, etc. If what you are looking for is traditional fashion modeling, these skills are needed. You can also meet with some photographers and look into having a few headshots done. But if you are a young person (under 21) make absolutely sure that you carefully vet any venues, classes, and especially photographers and don’t go anywhere alone or meet with people that you do not know. Care in using social media to get into modeling is also crucial. Being lured to a dangerous situation by some creep while pursuing a modeling opportunity is a cliche in the movies, but it still happens.

OK, I will tell you this with all the truth I got in me.Are you dedicated to doing this? Do you WANT to have this be your career? Do you WANT to improve? If you said yes to all of these, then I would tell you to try and dedicate as much time as you can to trying to improve yourself and become better at this subject. I have taken a few years of animation so far and we have stayed on blender for a solid 80% of it. This is showing you that you need to practice as much as possible, learn the things that you need to, and try and improve where you can. Here’s a little list of things that you need to learn or have.Hotkeys - essentialNodes - essentialpatience- THE MOST ESSENTIALhow to use the tools - essentiala good music playlist - optional, but hey music can’t hurt, right? That’s about it, I hope this helps you out and good luck on your journey
