Should I Go Into Beauty

Why do people go to beauty school?

Hello! For every person you ask this question you may get a different response. There are many reasons people go to beauty school. Here are some of the common reasons I have heard for people to go to beauty school. It’s creative: Creating new looks and styles demands that beauty professionals use their creative power. They also have to stay on top of what is happening with new trends and styles then put their own unique spin on things. It can be a very creative career choice and people who go to beauty school love that!Rapid Growth: The beauty industry is also growing faster than many other occupations in the United States. It’s a good choice for people who want to begin a career as soon as possible because the education process is shorter than a traditional four year college, and there are many opportunities because of the industry growth. These are a couple of the reasons that people choose to pursue an education and career in the beauty industry, but there are many many more. There are a lot of things that make going to beauty school a worthwhile venture.

Should I go to beauty school or college?

There is no guarantee that a college degree will get you a high-paying job. Many college graduates have incurred tremendous debt with loans that must be repaid. So, even if they do get a well-paying job, much of their income goes to the repayment of loans-- So how much better-off are they than someone who makes less,,but has no loan obligations?
TONES's advice is good if you have a clear career goal. And statistics show that over a lifetime, college graduates do earn more. So, I'm not saying college is worthless.
It may be possible for you to switch around some of TONES steps.
1.]Attend beauty college-- (especially if there is one nearby and you can live inexpensively at home or share an apartment)
2.] Earn as much as you can as a beautician or hair stylist. Save what you can for full-time college
3.] Attend college part time until you make a career decision.
4.] Follow your dreams.

There are talented cosmetologists, stylists and beauticians practicing in places where there is high demand (and higher pay) for their skills. Ability to relate well with people, A reputation for good customer care, ability to develop a loyal clientelle, and achieve fantastic results can help you earn above the average income of the rest of the hairdressers.

You can get more information about this career-- or any career from the Bureau of Labor Statistics site.
The info for hairdressers and cosmetologists is available in the source listed. You can explore from there.

Best Wishes !

How do I get my daughter into beauty pageants??

If she really, really wants to do this, I would say do the Pretty Little Princess one. They have a website if you want to take a look. My daughter talked me into this one, and it was actually a good experience. Minimal or no makeup, no "pageant dresses" required. No pressure. Everyone got ready in one big room, and other girl's moms actually helped with my daughter's hair (I'm hopeless at that stuff). Everyone helped and encouraged everyone else and it was fun. They do not allow eye makeup or anything that looks too grownup for the age of the girl; that will get you removed. No nasty competitive stage mothers. Everyone gets a trophy just for being there, and there are many categories you can also place in. My daughter took home 3 (first place in print model division; hey, moms are allowed to brag a LITTLE!) trophies; some take home just the participation one; some take home 2; maybe some take home a bunch. But nobody leaves with nothing. She really enjoyed it; totally positive thing. One caveat; I don't remember exact numbers now, but the price on the website (or flyer in the mail if you get that) is not the whole cost. After you sign up to get entry forms, there are additional registration fees; I think it was around $100.00 altogether, but when you consider what many "pageant moms" spend on hair, makeup, entry fees, etc, I'm sure that's WAY on the low end.
Of course, you can always say no. But if she really wants to try it just once, this is in my opinion the way to go. I am NOT a fan of typical little girl pageants and I would never enter my daughter in the high-stakes, fancy hair/makeup/dress, way too grown up kind. But this one was okay. They travel around the country; you should be able to see when there's one close to you on the website. I promise I don't work for them! Good luck!
