Should I Go To A Boarding School Or Junior College

Going to a boarding school for senior year?

It's generally not recommended that you do that. Your teachers will only have had a few months to get to know you and your teacher recommendations for college will be lacking. Most schools don't even accept incoming seniors.

It's however possible to apply late for Junior year. Now I don't know what school you're talking about(if it's a GLADCHEMMS it's probably not gonna work) but some schools have rolling admissions. You should call their office and check whether they would allow that.

Under those circumstances time is everything, you aren't applying for a spot but applying for a possible spot and you want you're app submitted when that happens. April 10th is an important date in relation to that. It's the common acceptance/decline day for accepted students and almost everyone that gets off the waitlist(seeing as you'd basically be applying for the waitlist, waitlists aren't ranked though so you'd have as good a chance as any) gets off on either April 10th or 11th.

If you decide to go for it and apply now you have to be really quick finishing your app(essays + teacher recs + SSAT/PSAT scores + grades) get a checklist from the school website and work fast.

Since you'd be applying late you should apply to more than one school.

Applying as a repeat Junior is also an option, it doesn't seem appealing but it really isn't that bad. Boarding school students are varied in age to begin with + up to 20-30% are repeaters. Colleges also know that prep school is a lot more rigorous and challenging than public school, most won't hold it against you at all, if any.

Good luck :) You can PM me if you want if you have any more questions

After tenth what should I join: junior college or school?

Depends on you and your learning needs entirely. If you prefer the school routine, you can continue in a school If not, you can opt for a junior college. The general impression is that one may lose focus from studies in a junior college. But with a college like Sinhal Integrated Junior College, you can have the best of both- focus on studies as well as time for social life. I hear, they maintain small batches in order to pay attention to all their students. Apart from ensuring proper understanding of concepts, teachers equip students with skills of time management and problem solving. Students from Sinhal Integrated Junior College still have high regard for their teachers not only for their teaching but for their encouragement and motivation. Do visit their website or give them a call to know more.

What is the best age to put a boy in boarding school?

There was a time when parents used to put their children in boarding schools at the age of seven or eight. However, today, this is considered to be too young. So, this brings us back to the question. Well, it all depends on your child. The best age to put a boy in a boarding school depends on what is right for your son. There are numerous boarding schools, and you need to find the best boarding school for boys first, one that your son likes. Remember, boarding schools can have a positive effect on your child. If, as a parent, you are busy and cannot spend quality time with your child, boarding school will offer the stability that your child desires. Also, if you live in a city, a boarding school with its ample campus offers a safe haven for children to run, play and grow.Make sure that you make your child a part of the decision-making process. Explain to them the benefits of a boarding school and together shortlist the best boarding schools. By the time your child is nine or 10 years old, they will know whether they want to go to the boarding school and that is the right time to put them into one.

Should I go to boarding school half way through high school?

Hey,

So my parents always wanted me to go to boarding school but until this year I didn't want to. Anyways, for a number of reasons my mind has changed and while I know it is too late to apply for this year, I was thinking maybe I could start fall of 2014. I would be going into my junior year. I am a little shy at first but quickly warm up to people. I'm just worried that these kids would already have groups established and not have room for one more. I am also scared that I wouldn't have the same upbringing as them which could make them a little less friendly towards me. While I am from a nice family with a good income, I am not some hedge fund baby who is given hundreds of thousands of dollars in clothes and things. Also, I already go to rigorous private school so I'm used to a big workload and a ton rules but I'm afraid that switching junior year would screw up my college goals at such an important time. If anyone could give me advice that would be very helpful!

Thank you!

Should I go to the UK for junior college? I am currently in one of the top secondary schools in Singapore.

If you plan to continue your studies in UK and can afford it, sure.Secondary education in their more infamous boarding schools are no less rigorous (or vigorous) than the best JCs in Singapore, but you get the added benefit of networking with a wide variety of nationalities, though more often than not you will be surrounded by the progeny of the filthy rich (and will struggle to develop any perspective beyond that). If you plan to return to Singapore for further studies instead, note that our Universities are institutionally biased in favour of local secondary/ tertiary institutions.

Should I go to Carrington College?

Hey, how's it going?

I was just researching Carrington College on youtube and google today and I was think about going there for a second career in part time in criminal justice cause I just saw that they have criminal justice class now. I was originally going to be a U.S. Border Patrol agent in the U.S. Border Patrol when I was 18 years old but I didn't get a chance to, so that's why I want to take a one or two year class in Carrington in the criminal justice class and see if I can major in U.S. Border Patrol or if they don't offer that kind of class, then I'll do police to be a police officer instead in Carrington but only if it's worth taking a class in Carrington college for a year or two.

I'm still going to go to community college and university for movie making and business, but I also want to take criminal justice in Carrington after community college and university afterwards to see if I can be a border patrol agent when I'm not doing movie making and business or if I become a border patrol agent full time, I'll just give the boarding school I want to build to my girlfriend and let her own it instead. I'm still going to do movie making and business but I also want to do law enforcement part time too when I'm not doing movie making and business. I know Carrington is expensive to go to and the price is like $20,000 or $30,000 dollars to go to, so I'll need to get a grant loan to go there.

So is Carrington College a good college to go to, yes or no and why?
