Should I Go To College Full-time Or Part-time

Should I go to college part-time, full-time, or not at all?

I am thinking of doing a similar thing, for me it is a disadvantage to work while going to school. My grades suffer and I am not able to get scholarships that would help me even further in my education. Often times you can qualify for merit aid, if you are both a fulltime student with good academic standing. However for many students that work part time and their grades suffer for it, they are C students, they miss out on the money opportunity, even though they are the neediest. To answer your question, yes, I think you should work full-time. However look for non-conventional ways of saving money or making money. Sell your things online, find a friend that has a similar goal and toggle who works and who doesn’t (once a semester each), live with parents, have online courses so you can find the cheapest place to live. Finally, get in contact with organizations in your field. If you have wedded to the ideal that you aren’t going to work, it doesn’t really mean you won’t work. It means you may have to take up internship jobs during the summer. Delay vacation and other fun thrills, and if you do go, make it as cheap as possible. My last note, you seem like your really want to change things around. Just understand that many will not want to help you because you have a degree. You had your chance.  Don’t listen to that, you are the only person who can make this happen. Make a full proof game plan that doesn’t rely on the well wishes of others. Just know how to be fluid with this plan, don’t be so rigid and unmoving, go with the flow and constantly reevaluate.

Should I work full time while at college?

Sounds like you are setting yourself up for failure. If you are already going poorly, why are you trying to make it worse with greater demands?

If you leave college now, you will probably not go back. Most people don't. Get a part time job that doesn't interfere with your classes. Make graduating in a year your top priority and getting a job comes second. My daughter has that kind of schedule that makes it impossible to hold a day job, so she has a job that is just on weekends.

Getting the degree opens up the opportunities to get a better than minimum wage job. Stay with it. It also greatly increases your chance of promotion when you do get a career. You are only 22. Pretty silly to think you are screwing yourself of the opportunity for a career.

College course HELP full time/part time!!?

I've been doing a business course for the past 3 years. Up here (Scotland) the full time course up to a HND level is 2 and a half days (9-4,9-4,9-12). Uni course is 1 and a half days. Part time would probably only be 1 and a half days. so 9-4 and 9-12. There's always a night time course too but you have to pay for that. It's up to you if you want to go full/part time. If you're under 18 you get an EMA a week (£30) but over 18's get a bursary (£80 a week) at NQ level. Then HNC and HND you can get a student loan which is roughly bout £400 a month if you're an independent student. i don't know what it is for dependent students cos that goes from what your parents earn. Plus there's always the January starts. It's like a full course squished into 6 months.

Should I drop out of college and work full time?

I graduated from High School just a few months back, and I am now planning on dropping out of community college after finishing some courses.
These are my reasons as to why.

1: As I said in the sentence above, I was only out of school for one week before going right back in agian, this transition was hard considering that I came from a very small school and was suddenly thrown into a very large and densely populated community college.

2: I have almost no way to pay for this, the money that I had used for the courses that I have just finished cost me a lot of the money that I was given after graduation, I have less than half of it left. And I figure that when I go out into the world on my own I do not want to be buried neck deep in loans and debt that cannot be paid off for another fifteen years.

3: I was not prepared for college level work upon leaving high school, my schools educational standards were WAY below par.

4: I have worked minimum wage jobs before, and have really enjoyed all them.

5: I am still living with my parents, no surprise there coming from someone young. But I have now hit a point in my life that urges me to go out and make myself happy. We do not get along at all and argue over just about everything, they are very conservative people, and feel that college is everything and that without it your nothing, getting away from them is something that would be very nice. ( I know this sounds like a typical rebellious stage, but trust me it’s not. They are just very harsh people.)

6: Most importantly, I am NOT HAPPY. While attending high school I was depressed because of having few friends, and now after just one semester of college it appears that it has become even more severe because my social life is completely null and void. The courses are for a culinary certificate (nothing that I wanted to ever do in the slightest), but it is what my parents wanted me to do. Now I am finding it very hard to live with myself.

Thank you to all who read this.
Don't harshly criticize me or leave messages try to convince me to drop/not drop out, this is very serious for me right now.
I am just a young adult who is doing some true soul searching in her life and wishes for the opinions and advice of others.
Thanks

Full time or part time College student. What's best?

If you go part-time, you might have more time for a job, but it will take you much longer to graduate. You also might not be able to get as much financial aid, because many kinds of financial aid require you to have a specific number of credits in your schedule every semester before you can be eligible for aid (at the undergrad level they usually require at leas 12 credit hours per semester, which is considered a full course load).

If you go full-time, you won't have as much time for a job, but you are more likely to finish on time and you will be eligible for financial aid in terms of how many credits you are taking each semester. Which isn't to say that you CAN'T have a job and be a full--time student, just that you won't have as much time to devote to one, especially if you want time to study and time to yourself.

Working full time and going to college full time ?

I’m planning to go back to college but I don’t want to quit my job as I have bills and stuff, so I’m going to have to do both. I work from 5am to 1:30 pm and then plan to go to school right after. Any advice by people who have done this before ?

Should I work full time and go to school part time?

Question:It can be done however much will depend on class schedules for your required classes. Waiting to find out if you “like it” is taking big chances w/ your studies. My experience: at one time while attending university half time I also worked half time. My classes were daytime often Tu & Th or M & W, rarely all four days. My approximately 40 hours work was concentrated on alternate weekends from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. This worked out very well, allowing time for studies and use of campus resources during the week as well as family time on alternate weekends. At different times I had qualified for Dean’s List, Academic scholarships, two national honor societies.A full time job with one year remaining was a huge challenge - or so I thought. The organization was pro ongoing education (no financial help though!) and I discussed my scheduling needs w/ my manager. She replied, we'll work it out. It worked out fine. The only worry was ensuring that I continued to apply myself. My opinion is this: if you have commitment to your educational goals, if you have proven your reliability and excellence to your employer, and a very big if - if your employer has the flexibility then you will need a commitment for scheduling work hours around your school schedule each semester or quarter. One thing to consider… You might offer to take the “worst shift” - the one your manager has trouble with, such as people cancelling last minute, everyone wanting that time off, for the duration of your education. This may impress your manager w/ your commitment and help meet organizational goals at the same time.Lastly “like” doesn't enter into the equation really. We often must “bite the bullet” and sacrifice our personal comfort and preference for long term goals. We may even find some excellent fun along the way.Best
