Should I Have A Career In Politics

Should I still pursue a career in politics?

I'm sure you've noticed that all politicians have done regrettable things. It's all part of being human. No one gets elected for their perfection. However, politiics is neither a poor perosn ro young person's game. You need a tremendous amount of money, energy & experience. Technically, yes, outsiders can run for office, but you need to be a name familiar enough to all parts of this nation. You also need an expert knowledge of the political system of the U.S. and it's updated problems.Once you are publicly questioned in debates and you can't instantly come up with a suitable answer, then it's all over. Sorry, but this is the truth. Politics are competitiive and brutal. However, if you enjoy power & making decisions, you may do better with an MBA & running a corporaton. It also pays a heckuva lot better than POTUS.

How should I start my political career in India?

The essential qwalities of Indian politicians are:1st you should know that you should not speak only truth always.2nd you have to first take shelter of some existing leader preferbly of your cast.3rd whatever social service you do, you should spend more than that for advertisement.4th you should not be anxious to fulfill the promises given to public and should try to prolong it as far as possible.5th you must have the knack of amassing wealth when in power even for short periods.

What do you think about career politicians? Should there be term limits for congressmen or not?

when this Country was set up you were not to be paid, it was an honor to serve, do your 4 yrs. and get out, all the lawyers,& the rich have changed all of it to what they want, they are to govern not make more laws. none of them should be in office more than 4 yrs. and no benefit's. Please tell me why are we to work for 20 yrs or more for a small retirement and they can be in office for 4yrs. and get big bucks and all the benefit's there are to get, why don't they get the same as we do.S.S.

Has the US had enough of career politicians?

The question appears to have been asked by someone who has an answer in mind,  but I will ignore that. The US should have learned why we need career politicians from the nonsense that Donald Trump and Ben Carson have been spewing. If that doesn't persuade you that you need experienced politicians who have been under the public microscope for a long time, then you won't really care what kind of politicians we get.I don't like a lot of our experienced politicians, but I certainly am not going to vote for someone for a major political office who has never had a political office before. I am not a fool. There are jobs that clearly prepare you for top level political roles. General Eisenhower had already proven his ability at leadership and managing politics in WWII. He was not a rookie (notice that no one thought Patton was a good idea). The problem is egomaniacs who think that they know how to do something without any experience or comparable experience.

Which current NBA players could have a career in politics after retirement?

I don’t think there many obvious NBA players who could move into politics in the future. Part of this is hindered by the fact that most NBA players do not have college degrees anymore. Perhaps that becomes less of a barrier to entry into elected office (which is what I assume you mean by politics) in the future—obviously Trump’s outsider status bends norms—it’s certainly an unofficial prerequisite for almost any major elected office. In fact, the only major elected official I can think of that does not hold a college degree is Scott Walker (though there are probably others).Players like LeBron James, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, etc. have been involved with the players union, but that seems motivated more out of self interest than a proclivity for politics. James was active in the 2016 presidential election, campaigning on behalf of Hillary Clinton, but it’s hard to see him having an interest in elected office. It’s totally reasonable to expect him to be an activist for causes he cares about (his foundation, etc.), but his post-career future is in business and entertainment.Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala would be naturals, though neither seem to have an interest. Who knows what Steph will do. Andre’s obviously very much interested in tech/Silicon Valley/fashion. Perhaps someone like James Jones, who sits on the NBAPA executive committee, but isn’t going to have a ton of options post career that the bigger names on that committee will, could go into politics. And though he’s not a player (he’s a current coach in the NBA), it’s very easy to imagine Steve Kerr going into politics.
