Should I Have Energy Drinks Whilst Going Through Pubity

Can a 12 year old drink monster and other energy drinks?

Ok so i really want to drink monster because I love it and my parents both think that it will stunt my growth and all that stuff because the ingredients aren't good for kids, but all of my friends drink it and their growth is definitely not being affected (some are taller than me). I try to argue but they won't budge. Am I wrong? Is it really that bad? I need some reasons to give my parents because I really want to be able to drink it and I don't think it's like some poison or something.
P.S. I'm a 12 year old girl and I'm 5'3" so it's not like I'm short already or anything
Thanks!

Do monsters (energy drink) affect puberty?

There is no evidence that it interferes with puberty - but it CAN cause many other issues you might want to learn about below.

Negative Effects of Monster Energy Drinks

Energy drinks such as Monster have become very popular. Although they can provide an energy boost, many of the ingredients in these drinks can have various negative effects.

Sugar
Most energy drinks have large amounts of sugar, which gives the body a temporary boost of quick energy. However, after this burst of energy wears off, it can cause a "sugar crash," which leaves the drinker feeling less energized than before.

Caffeine
Monster also has significant amounts of caffeine in it. Caffeine can lead to irritability, headaches and nausea, as well as sleep disorders such as insomnia.

Even though energy drinks are mostly water, they are not effective for hydration. Many athletes consume energy drinks while exercising, which may lead to dehydration. Extreme cases of dehydration can even lead to death.

Alcohol
Although there is no variety of alcoholic Monster, many people mix in their own alcohol. When mixed with alcohol, energy drinks become even more dehydrating. Monster drinks contain taurine and ginseng, which when mixed can cause cardiac problems.

Heart Problems
Energy drinks can cause high blood pressure and an accelerated heartbeat. This can cause an irregular heartbeat or even a heart attack.

Can I drink Boost Energy drinks with my tongue piercing?

Well try to change the rice and cereal with a nice heart warming homeade soup :) that should help you out with the nutrients and give you back your energy
But, It's not reccomended that you drink anything Sugary like soft drinks because some crystals can stick on the piercing and cause irritation and rarely rejection but tongue piercings heal in 2-3 weeks so you can hold yourself and most important drink lots and lots of water and orange juice helps but dont "ovderdose" on it hehe and some ibuprofen "advill" will help with the swelling and the tongue and if the swelling is just huge suck on an ice cube ;)

Hope I Helped

I have never gotten acne before and if i did it was little. Its driving me insane that this stuff is on my forehead. Did i get it fro drinking the energy drinks? i have had a monster before and i didnt breakut.... Help!

Help, 3 year old drank "monster", the energy drink?

I wouldn't worry too much. Yes, it's not good for his little body to consume that but isn't not going to poison him. The ERs not going to be able to do much at this point because I'm sure its already been mostly absorbed. Your best bet is to find the closest family fun center and go crazy for a little while. I bet both of you will end the day with a headache. Good luck.

Are energy drinks harmful to teenagers?

My younger brother turned 16 this past week. For a while now he has been drinking so called energy drinks on the odd occassion when he has money. For his birthday though he got a fair amount of money and has used some of it to stock up on 4-packs of energy drinks like mother, rockstar, wicked (not sure if they are only Australian brands). The past 2 days he's had 2 cans each day even though the max daily intake is one can. I don't even think he should be drinking 1 can. Especially when he has also recently taken up going to the gym for hours at a time doing weights and other exercises. That in itself I think is potentially harmful because I think he is overdoing it. Given that he's going through puberty and his body is at a sensitive time and going through many changes I think he should be careful in how he treats it.

Several friends and family members have tried to explain the dangers of energy drinks (and overdoing exercise). But my brother says that he had two cans yesterday and survived so he can have two cans today. Plus he's at the stage where he thinks he knows everything and is right about everything. So I thought if I have proof...

What kind of harm can energy drinks cause, especially in teenagers. CAn it have an accumulatove effect so that one drink now and again won't cause harm but one drink every day can add up?
Sources would be appreciated too so my brother doesn't just think I'm making it up...

I gained a lot of weight during puberty. Can I lose it when I'm older?

Start healthy eating habits now, not to diet, but to reboot your eating to a responsible style that you can live with for the rest of your life.Avoid sugary sodas, energy drinks and juices. Choose water and zero calorie drinks.Junk food and dessert are for rare special occasions, which is not every day after school, or even every weekend. No double portions except fruits and veggies, and have at least 3 - 5 servings of those daily.Cut back on simple grain-carbs: stick to 3 to 5 half-cup portions over the whole day, and choose high fiber: brown rice, high fiber bread and cereals with at least 3 gms of fiber per servings, or more. No more sugary candy cereal. Pastas are available in high-fiber now, and a serving is a side dish of a half cup, maybe one cup, but not the whole plate.Eat only when you are truly hungry, and don’t let yourself get so hungry you eat everything in sight when you get to the refrigerator. Don’t eat for boredom, entertainment, socialization, or just appetite.Snacks should be healthy choices like fruit, cut veggies, cheese, a couple of tablespoons of nuts/seeds (they are calorie dense), yogurt, and small portions of granola (which are calorie dense, too). Small snacks can keep you from getting too hungry. These few changes can revamp your eating style to a more reasonable one that will help control your weight while getting adequate nutrition: I’m willing to bet you aren’t currently complying with any of these guidelines. But they are easy and make big changes.Every time you make food choice, listen to the voice in your head reminding you. Give that voice power, and make living this way a habit.

What are some things you can do during puberty that will help you later in life?

Start thinking about where you want to be by the time you’re 43. Do you want to go to work everyday and be comfortable? Do you want to be able to do whatever you want and start a business? Set some goals for sure. It’s a great thing you want to start planning for your future so young! You’ll be so far ahead of everyone else your age and even some people older than you.Don’t worry about a serious relationship is the biggest thing. There’s so much growing that you need to by yourself.Keep an open mind. Your mind is going to change a lot in the next 10 years. By the time you’re 20, you’ll probably look back and wonder what was wrong with you.Learn how to not complain. Complaining never fixes anything. Learn how to figure out how to make a situation better instead of just whining about it.Learn how to manage your time. This is something that the majority of adults struggle with. Don’t get into the habit of procrastination.Learn how to handle finances. Ask your parents if they wouldn’t mind teaching you about how the household finances work. Learn how to pay bills, take out a loan, manage a credit card, and especially saving. That’s the most important habit you could learn is how to save.Don’t do drugs or drink. At least not until you’re older… Or ever. Both of them are bad, but they can be fun… Just don’t go crazy here.Never stop thinking. The school system is almost designed to make you stop thinking because you just get facts thrown at you. Keep your ability to think by being that kid that always asks why something is the way it is.

Is Gamma Labs G-Fuel Energy Drink safe for me? I'm 15?

I'm 15 years old and an aspiring professional Call of Duty player. I wanted to try G-Fuel because of recommendations by other pros and also I heard it was safe. After a while of gaming I tend to grow tired and lose complete focus and sometimes it costs me. So the real question: IS G-FUEL SAFE FOR ME TO DRINK? WHY OR WHY NOT?
p.s. if it makes a difference I am a late grower (hit puberty late)

What should I do during puberty to grow?

You can’t really make yourself grow, but you can give your body everything it needs to do all the growing it can.You should eat a healthy, balanced diet. That means lots of leafy greens like spinach, kale, and broccoli, lean proteins like chicken and fish, fruits and vegetables, drinking lots of milk and water, and so on. You don’t need a special diet of any kind, just a well balanced one. That said, you should avoid junk foods and sugary snacks. When you want candy, eat fruit. When you’re tempted to grab a soda or energy drink, drink ice water instead. This includes breakfast - no more sugary cereals; have oatmeal or cream of wheat or grits instead, with some eggs (a great source of protein). That doesn’t mean you can never have sweets, but it should be a rare treat rather than the norm. You should get exercise. I don’t mean you should go to the gym and try to lift hundreds of pounds. You should very much not do that, as your bones are still forming and lifting can actually damage them, making you shorter than you would have been. Instead, do things that give you a great cardio workout like swimming, playing soccer, running, and the like. Maybe get involved in a team sport or something organized like a martial art.In the meantime while you’re eating well and exercising, sleep! Make sure you get at least eight hours a day. Scientists currently think teenagers need more, along the lines of ten to twelve hours a day, but in this day and age it’s very hard for a busy high school student to get that kind of rest on a regular basis. Instead, focus on trying your best to keep a regular bedtime and a regular time to wake up. Keeping a regular schedule allows your body to adjust, and you won’t feel as tired in the mornings or have a tough time getting to sleep at night.Scientists also know that teenagers are biologically inclined to be night owls (that is, to stay up all night and sleep all day), but unfortunately, schools don’t operate on those hours, so you have to adapt as best you can.So now you’re eating right, getting regular low impact exercise, and sleeping regularly! That’s wonderful - you should feel more rested, sleep better, have more energy during the day, have an easier time waking up and an easier time going to bed. You should be able to focus better at school, too!Best of luck!
