Will I lose my game if I uninstall/reinstall?

No, you won't lose any achievements items or anything else. The only thing you may lose is your graphic settings. To unstall TF2, go to your /program files/steam/steamapps/YOUR STEAM NAME and delete the /team fortress 2 folder. That way, the game is uninstalled, but you do not need to redownload it again, steam will just reinstall it.

Usually during the uninstall process of any game you will be asked if you want to keep your save games or not. If you don't get asked the save games are saved by default in your my documents folder or in the game install folder. So, you can just reinstall the game how often you like, the save games will still be there. For the installation you will have to use the same license code you used before, that is your license for the game. If you bought it online it should be on the website where you bought it or on the email with your receipt. If you still have performance issues with the game then your computer is to slow to run the game(check the minimal system requirements on EA's website) and you should try to lower the graphics details ingame. It should make the game run smoother.
