Should I Put A Tooth Or Leave It Like That

Is it okay if I leave food in my tooth extraction hole?

First of all your dentist might have advised you not to chew from the side of mouth where the extraction was done. However its practically impossible to prevent food from getting anywhere in the mouth while chewing. This is especially true for soft diets like boiled rice, soups etc.The problem under question is, if you feel pain around the extraction site, see your dentist immediately so that you dont get fibrosing alveolitis (a dry inflamed socket). The dentist will probably then irrigate the area with normal saline and plug in a small size of alvogel (soothing agent that contains eugenol). However if you dont have any kind of pain and your only concern is food being impacted into your extraction site, then please dont try to remove it using your fingers or any kind of object such as a toothpick or toothbrush. Instead, rinse your mouth with water in a very light manner (no aggressive rinsing/gargling) and use a good mouthwash such as Sensodyne/Oral-B.Some general instructions after tooth extraction:Avoid chewing from the extraction site.Avoid blowing your nose in the first 48 hours after extraction.Avoid sucking any drink from a straw. Use a glass instead.Avoid aggressive mouth rinsing/gargling.Avoid any hot drink such as tea/coffee in the first 48 hours after extraction.Use ice packs to sooth any pain after extraction or just enjoy having plain ice cream.Go back to your dentist 7 days after extraction for evaluation.Hope you get my point.

How much does the tooth fairy pay?

$100 - with a note attached that reads "I'm coming back tomorrow for the rest!"$5 max!Who invents this stuff anyway.  My wife was Ninja!  Our kids were light sleepers and always seemed to set traps for anyone trying to gain access to their teeth.  I would crawl military style on the floor taking an hour to cross the room, only to scare them awake.  While I was complaining about muscles seizing and rug burn - my wife would walk in and be out 3 seconds later with the tooth in hand.  One of our tricks was to place the tooth in a ziplock bag.  It makes it harder to lose and easier to find.  I remember one time when our daughter lost a tooth while we were on a family ski vacation.  We told her to place the tooth under her pillow at bed time and she was stoked because all the other kids were jealous.  We, the fairies (parents) then proceeded to get drunk with some of the other parents.  We woke up in the latter part of the morning to a very upset daughter who was holding a tooth in a ziplock!  WE FORGOT!!!!  We had to think fast and explain that it the tooth fairy probably went to our house and didn't know we were on vacation.  We had to double down the next night!Speaking of imaginary characters that resemble parents, It's 12:01 am October 31st - Halloween and my kids reminded me how terrible we were years ago when we introduced them to the concept of "The Pumpkin Man".  The legend goes that the day after Halloween, kids are told to select 5 candies and place the rest under their bed.  Then the Pumpkin Man would come around at night and collect the bags leaving $10 in their place.  In hindsight now they're calling BullShit!

How long do i leave on Opalescence tooth whitening system gel?

It really depends on the percentage of Opalescence you were given, but typically it is 20%. Per the instructions you are really supposed to wear it in the trays over night ( 6-8 hours). But I use Opalescence 15% gel and I use it for about 30 minutes (I cannot use it much longer because I get really sensitive) and after about 3 uses (3 days) I am bright and white. So here are the instructions: Put a small "dot" of gel into each "tooth" of your trays. Place them on your teeth and rub the gel around. Wipe the extra gel that gets on your gums with a paper towel, q-tip or your finger (if too much gel oozes out, try using a little less gel next time). It is important to wipe off the excess gel off your gums... after all it is bleach and you do not what to bleach your gums. After 4-6 hours, remove the trays from your teeth and brush your teeth as normal-- the gel on your teeth will be sticky. Rinse your trays in COOL water (NOT HOT OR WARM-- DOING THIS WILL DISTORT AND RUIN YOUR EXPENSIVE CUSTOM BLEACH TRAYS) after rinsing your trays you will want to let them air dry. VERY IMPORTANT; KEEP YOUR TRAYS AWAY FROM HOT/WARM WATER-- AS MENTIONED ABOVE ALSO WAY FROM PETS-- THEY LOVE THE SMELL OF OUR SILVIA AND KEEP YOUR TRAYS OUT OF THE SUN). I hope this helps! Happy Bleaching... P.S. if you experience tooth sensitivity try using the bleach gel less (like if you use it for 2 hours only do 1 hour next time) or you can Skipp a day-- it may take longer to get that bright smile, but it is better than being sensitve. Sorry for the long answer

If the dentist left a piece of tooth in the gum, can I use Orajel to numb the pain and try to hook it out myself?

HelloIf a portion of tooth is left in your gums and you are informed about it then it’s ok. Not to worry. Your dentist must have tajen this decision to avoid inadvertent surgery to remove a small chunk. It will resorb or may come up as the time passes. If it’s hurting you go back to your dentist and ask him to solve your discomfort. Comfirm it with xray.I have done many dental surgeries where sometimes a small root piece is left intentionally if broken during the removal of teeth/tooth so as to avoid more complicated surgery and discomfort to the patients. I inform the patients when such incident occurs. So don’t try anything at home.Thank you.Best Dentist in Surat India - Dental Implant Surgeon India in Affordable Fee

What happens if u leave the creast white strips on your teeth for more then 30 min?

If you leave them on your teeth for a few more than 30 minutes, it isn't going to hurt you. However, if you leave them on your teeth for a significant amount of time, your teeth will become very sensitive and hurt. I once did the 30 minute strips, and then took them off and put on another set because you are supposed to do it twice a day, and I didn't feel like waiting, so I just did them back to back, and it hurt really bad. My teeth were sore for a couple weeks afterwards. I had wished someone had punched me in the mouth, it would have hurt less than my teeth did at the time! I do NOT recommend doing it back to back, and not to leave them on any longer than a half hour like it says.

Why do people leave the water running while they brush their teeth?

I agree. I'm in Ca and like the other poster, in school, they taught us early on. There were programs every year. Now, I put several big cups in all the bathrooms and suggest guests use those instead of running water. Or if they like to run it, place a big cup under it to catch it then use that. =)

I have an adult tooth growing behind my baby tooth?

try and get an appointment with your dentist. you need them to remove the tooth, cause if it stays there it will cause the tooth behind it to come out in the wrong position, which cannot be changed without braces later on. i had the same problem with two of my front teeth, and now my teeth are all over the place and i need braces to correct it.
