Should I Quit Lacrosse

Why won't my parents let me quit lacrosse?

the only reason i joined the high school team was to get involved. It's been two years and I just don't enjoy it anymore. but they keep signing me up for these fall and summer leagues, and conditioning classes with the team, and it's costing us a lot of money. I've tried multiple times to tell them i just can't do it anymore. I haven't had a week off since the last week of 8th grade. i'm in 11th now. it's not like i'm just quiting and not doing anything, I want to play hockey, a sport I love and have loved for a long time, but lacrosse is making it a lot harder for me to play. Please how can i just tell my parents i'm done with lacrosse?

Should I quit high school lacrosse?

I am a freshman and think that I could use the extra time for school work. There are a few assholes on the team but there are douchebags everywhere. I have some fun but I have little time for schoolwork an have very little free time. However, my biggest fear about quittin is that I will regret it for the rest of my life. What should I do???

Should I quit Lacrosse?

This is my second year and I started a lot better. The coach put me on starting attack but I I got scared because of the sudden change, causing me not to catch the ball. Ever since then I barely get any time in a game and the person who replaced me is always worse than me, even on my bad days. I understand why my playing time decreased substantially, but now he barely lets me get drills during practice. If there are only 3 attackmen (which would include me) he will tell a middy to switch to attack and when it is my turn to do a shooting drill he will sometimes end it before I can go. I've been getting worse and worse now that I am not able to practice for a good enough amount of time and I'm starting to forget how to play the game all over again. I love everything about lacrosse, but I don't want to have to just stand around in practice and games while the coach doesn't let me get better. What should I do? Quit?

I suck at lacrosse. Should I quit?

I'm a Jr in high school and this is my second season of lacrosse and I play Midfield. I started spring of sophomore year. Last year I was bad but I wasn't so bad and was able to be somewhat decent for a first year player. This year I missed a lot of practice because of injury's and am getting back into it in the middle of the season and I am worse than I was last year. I am pretty athletic I can sprint and have good endurance but my stick skills and my toughness mentality is very lacking. I cant catch! I do wall ball every day for about 45 minutes and I do fine but when it comes to passing with someone on the run I just cant! I always drop the ball. Also for ground balls or dodging I always get scared that ill get destroyed and pushed to the ground(I'm really skinny and light weight unfortunately) And its not like I'm weak I go to the gym and for my size I'm pretty strong just I get scared last minute and slow down and either let them get the ball or I get intimidated by the defenders and drop the ball. I also don't have a very strong IQ. Because I have been absent for a lot of practices I don't really know our offense and defense very well. I always will mess up and my team mates will yell at me and make fun of me. Because of this I purposely miss all the games because I do not want to be put in and make my team lose. I just don't know what to do. I spent money for this season and gear and I really do love lacrosse even though I suck. What should I do? Please help!

How do I tell my parents I want to quit lacrosse ?

Look, it is always hard to talk about something like this to your parents. But you must, that's obvious.

Yes, they spent money on lacrosse camps. They might be a bit disappointed you want to quit it. But mad? I don't think they would be really mad, if you explain them carefully why you want to quit it. So, you enjoy track more? And you feel it would give you a better chance with college? Two great reasons for track, there!

Do sit with them and explain this carefully to them. Tell them how you feel about it, tell them why you want to quit. It is ok to change your mind, especially in sports, it is actually vital that you follow the sports that feel good to you, not only those you are good at or have money invested in.

They're your parents, they love you and care for you...As I said, there could be little disappointment, of course, but you should understand them too and not get mad at them for not understanding you right away (if that happens). Do be patient and reasonable and calm and act as a grownup. As I said, they care for you and they will understand, especially if you underline good sides of this change.

Good luck :)

Quitting Lacrosse Senior Year?

I think your problems are deeper than lacrosse. There maybe something sad that you associate lacrosse with that is causing you to feel this way towards the game. I don't know how long you've played, but I know this isn't the kind of sport that people can naturally be good at without loads of practice. I think you should work out your feelings because I think it would be a waste of talent to quit now.

I quit lacrosse too back in high school, except my reason was because the coach was a jerk. Many times, I wish I hadn't because I knew I could've been really good if I kept playing. My regrets, oh well.

To sum this up, think on the bright side. There's only one year left! Enjoy it by doing what YOU want. Listen to your heart.

Should I quit lacrosse my senior year of high school?

I played lacrosse my sophomore and junior year. Sophomore year was the first time that we had girls' lacrosse at my school. I was on varsity both years and a captain my junior year. I have really come to dislike playing lacrosse. I even have injuries on both of my legs from overworking that have to be taped up every time I play. I have also developed exercise induced asthma so it makes it hard to breathe when I push myself too hard. I have great grades and a high GPA and senior year I am taking 6 AP classes, the most out of anyone in my school (I go to a small school). Lacrosse is a spring sport so would colleges even know if I play senior year since I would probably already be accepted into a college by the time lacrosse starts? Would quitting affect my chances of getting into a good college?

What is the best way I can quit my high school lacrosse team?

If you like lacrosse, you just need to suck it up and withstand some pain. Shin splints are a sign of two things : 1) Your bone is getting stronger 2) You are pushing yourself too hard. Get a better pair of sneakers, lower your pace, tell your trainer that you have a problem and you need to slow down a bit on practices, and simply try to split your time well so you have time to study, train and go to school. You might not have too much time for fun, but... everything comes with a price. If you enjoy it, keep it up.

How to convince your parents to let you quit lacrosse?

I've been wanting to quit lacrosse for a while and not to play video games but to skateboard and hang with friends. Do any of you guys have reasonable answers I could tell my parents?
