Should I Report The Lawyer

Where and who should I go to report a lawyer who refuses to refund my retainer fee and court fee; He did not?

I hope you had a written contract, and carefully read the 'refund policy'. Some attorneys have none, but they will carry it over should you need them again.

There is a state board that licenses attorneys in each state. There is also very often a separate board set up by attorneys, which individual attorneys may choose to join, that regulates their behavior. Here in the South, every state has its own such organization as well as state-run organization that regulates unethical behavior.

Which state are you in? Add Details.

Freeadvice.com has a legal forum. I'd register & check over there.

How can I report a lawyer for misconduct?

Most states have an attorney complaint office-- usually with the Bar Association or the State Supreme Court (sometimes there's an "attorney regulation" office.) Check out the website of your state -- usually something like http:///www.state.XX.us (where XX is the two letter postal abbreviation for your state) -- navigate to Supreme Court and you should find an attorney regulation site with phone numbers where you can report a dispute.

How do I report a lawyer?

In Canada, lawyers and (in some jurisdictions) paralegals are licensed and regulated by provincial law societies. Each law society will have a well-defined complaints process described on their web site, or you can simply ring them up and ask for the complaint forms be sent to you.Canada has a national and provincial bar associations, but these are trade associations for lawyers, not the regulatory authority.

Should I report my mom-in-law?

i understand why this is a dicey situation. Its really easy for everyone to bark down from thier ivory tower " report the beast, send her to jail!!!" but this is your HUSBAND'S MOM. what she is doing is wrong, cruel, and incredibly irresponsible. She is not breeding for love of the breed, but to make a quick buck. A responsible breeder would NEVER be caught dead doing anything remotely close to the awful scenarios you described.

Tread lightly... Reporting your mother in law to authorities is very clear in a black and white world, but unfortunately we live in the real world with lots and lots of grey areas. If your husband found out, would this be a marriage ender? I think if it were me, I would have to do something or I wouldn't get over it...

My suggestion? call ANONYMOUSLY and report the hag saying that you suspect animal cruelty. The cops will go over and inspect the premises and make their judgements from there. At the very least that will put a good scare on her and maybe she will re-evaluate her "business". She sounds like a very misguided woman who is more interested in the almighty dollar than with treating living creatures with humanity. I hope for your sake she raised her son better than that... Good luck and I hope you get enough solid feedback to make a good decision.

Should I report my lawyer for bad ethics? And do you think he will be reprimanded?

i could write a letter soliciting for the suggestions. in case you don't get a reaction from the attorney, you are able to then have some thing to deliver the ethics committee alongside along with your criticism to confirm it and instruct which you tried to treatment the region earlier submitting a criticism. additionally, submitting a criticism with the bar won't get you the suggestions. it may get the attorney disciplined, besides the fact that it may grant you with out treatment - a letter to the attorney could.

Should I report this weed dealer to the law?

Okay I am a highschooler-grade 10-15 yrs of age
everytime i enter the bathroom at a specific time before a specific class i see this guy my age dealing drugs with some other guys.
Now this guy I knew him last year in grade 9. He's really messed up, He isnt in proper school. He's in this step program, for "at-risk" kids, in the portables outside of school. So i guess he comes for a "washroom break" to deal. This isnt the first time I have seen him, let alone other people, deal and show me weed. I have never smoked it myself, it's illegal. yes, i like to abide by the law.
So the issue is this guy is a total doorknob, the guy dealing weed, he's really messed up, last year he was rarely clean(He was always high) and he kept threatening me last year. I'm not a small guy. I'm smart and I wear glasses but I'm not a wimp. And yes, he's alot bigger and stronger.
So the issue was today, in the bathroom, i caught him dealing weed with some other ganster.. He said to me "..if u tell anyone im going to punch you in the face" and he did this thing trying to punch me and i flinched like a retard. I felt really angry. I dont like him one bit. he's a law breaker.
The question is, do I report his drug dealing actions - ofcourse it would be anonymous, i would never give my name out for "ratting". But i dont know, i need some advice. One part of me says dont get involved, but another wants to get involved anonymously and make him pay for being a bad person.
Please, give me your suggestions, thoughts, advice, and answers. That would be greatly appreciated.
thanks :D

Should I report this to the bar association?

No. Was he your lawyer? No malpractice. If it was a typo, then why didn't the judge allow it to be changed? If the judge said it is too late to change it, then it is too late to change it, otherwise the judge would have fixed it. The Bar will tell you that as well, and besides, if everybody made bar complaints against their adversary's lawyer because they didn't like it that they lost, every lawyer would have a bar complaint.

This actually happened once, and we just had to file a motion to have it changed with a copy of the transcript of the hearing where the judge awarded the spousal support terms. It was easy. Just request the hearing transcript that says what the order was supposed to say and have your lawyer fix it with the proper terms and submit it. Bar complaints are made for serious ethical violations not typos. You should not do that. Even if you did, they would just dismiss it and no lawyer will ever want to represent someone who gets a reputation for making frivolous bar complaints. Your proper cause of action would be an appeal for an error made on the record, or just a motion to correct the typographical error; not a complaint.

*This is just general discussion though, for legal advice, consult a licensed attorney in the proper jurisdiction.

EDIT: By the way, if this was a final divorce decree, both parties have to sign it, so you should have read it first to make sure it was correct. That is the only reason I could think of for the judge saying it is too late.
