Should I Save Or Splurge

Should I splurge or save on my first car?

I really want a Jeep, I don't like small cars but if I was to get a small car it would either be a volkswagen jetta or a volvo s80. So should I save up and get a 2005 jeep grand cherokee or a earlier model or should I spend a little less and get something like a jetta or volvo s80? My budget is 5000$ but I'm willing to spend about 2500$ more for the PERFECT car.

oh yeah I'm 19 years old.

Splurge vs save on makeup?

Mascara- Drugstore. Many high end mascaras do the same thing as the $6 ones at walmart

Eyeshadow- It depends on what you want really. If you want bold colors, i would get MAC.I haven't found any drugstore eyeshadows as vibrant

Lipstick- Theres some good lipstick at the drugstore, i guess it depends on what you want. MAC has so many amazing shades, but you can find dupes for some of them.

Eyeliner- I love L'oreal HIP cream eyeliner. Its drugstore, but its kind of pricey, its $11 at walmart. I would never pay $20+ for an eyeliner from department stores

Blush- Most blush that i love is from department stores. Not to say drugstore blushes are not good, but most ive found hardly have any pigment, or are the wrong shade for me. I say go to Sephora (since thats where you want to order from, and see what blush you like. Check out NARS!)

Foundation- I find that foundation is most important. It make or breaks your look. IMO, I say splurge, but you can find good cheap covergirl foundation for like $4.

How do I save money and splurge at the same time?

Spending money is pretty much the opposite of saving money, and splurging is definitely the opposite. That said, assuming your income exceeds your expenses, you should be able to save money and still splurge. There’s no need to feel like you’re depriving yourself just because you’re saving money.Do a basic budget or track your expenses for a few months so you know what’s extra, about how much you usually save. Choose a fraction of this which is comfortable to you, and use that to splurge without guilt, secure in the knowledge that your bills are paid and your other savings is going where it should, toward longer term goals which are important to you.Maybe you stack up a few months’ worth of this “splurge money” and get something larger with it, such as that special trip, or the big purchase you’ve had your eye on.Or maybe you decide on a little everyday luxury that you really like. If you can find an affordable thing that seems to you like a “splurge” and can go with that for awhile, do. These are things like going out to dinner and maybe a movie now and then. The other thing you can do is to aim for a “splurge” that will keep you busy for awhile, and then stick with it. This might be a hobby item, such as a guitar or bicycle, which you can continue to use for many years to come.Incidentally, splurging doesn’t have to cost anything at all. You could take a luxurious bath now and then, or pack a picnic lunch to eat in the park on a nice day, without spending much more than you would otherwise spend to bathe or eat lunch. So to sum up, set aside an amount of money which is comfortable for you for these “splurges” and then seek opportunities to feel like you’ve splurged within your budget.

Should you splurge on pressed or loose powder or save?

How much should I earn or save to splurge on business class travel without worrying too much about it. If I earn over 250000 US dollars a year, would I be irresponsible to spend on it?

You earn enough to justify a vacation that includes business class travel as part of the trip. This really pays for itself if you are travelling any significant distance to make it worth the investment (think a long flight to Hawaii or further west, or a trip to London or Paris or Room). You’ll enjoy the trip more and the flight will be part of a great memory and experience.

What is always worth the splurge versus save?

Nothing..Cambridge dictionary states definition of splurge to be “to spend a lot of money on buying goods, especially expensive goods “So, there is nothing you should spend extensively unless necessary.Best experiences, memories, gifts, love, relationship, don't need to have money spent unnecessarily. However, you should spend decently on your necessities.Safety, health are the things you should never compromise in terms of spending. My statement is governed by 2 rules.Health is wealth.Better be safe, than sorry.

When remodeling your kitchen, what should you splurge on vs. save?

It depends. What is your plan? Will you be in the home 4 or more years? 15 or more years? Your budget and your definition of “splurge” also makes a difference.ANY TIME you do a kitchen remodel - don’t skimp on the cabinets. Those are NOT easily replaced. Ever. Get excellent quality, durable, wood cabinets with excellent hardware (especially drawer glides).Get the room laid out really well. Get the plumbing and electric done perfectly so it is well set up for your “forever” kitchen. Those things also cannot be easily changed later. Vinyl flooring can be updated later. Wood flooring can be refinished later. Laminate or butcherblock countertops can be upgraded easily later on.So if you are staying in the home, invest in the layout and the cabinets. If you are doing this for resale, the flooring, the countertops and the other finishes take on a MUCH GREATER importance since they appeal to the eye of prospective buyers. If you will not be in a home for very long, make all your kitchen decisions based on the next owner and broad visual appeal - don’t customize the colors and selections for your taste. So as with all remodeling projects, the answer depends. It depends on your precise situation, your needs, your budget, and the time you will be staying in the house.Jim Molinelli is an architect and remodeling expert who teaches homeowners how to take control of their projects, hire the very best available professionals, and achieve results they are proud to show off and enjoy. He created the online masterclass Ready, Set, Remodel! and he wrote the bestseller Remodel! Without Going Bonkers or Broke.

What is one thing you should always splurge on?

SoapFor some reason I take soap pretty seriously. I actively judge people by the soap they keep in their house. I went to a friend’s house recently and discovered that she watered down her soap. I pressed the dispenser and what squirted out was this thin, watery, weak bubbled mixture that just made me die a little inside. The aroma can only be described as a whitewashed lemon that expired upon first sniff. How disappointing.Having nice soap is a good way to transform an otherwise mundane, everyday activity into something special. Because there is nothing as satisfying as a simple thing done well.(Pictures like this=my crack)What I’ve currently got in use: organic lavender and thyme in a polished black dispenser, and a deliciously red tinted liquid soap with propolis extract. I also have—for those who prefer the more conventional bar soaps—forest pine from the Grand Canyon, rose from the salt mines in Poland, and orange blossom from the Dead Sea which is suitable for sensitive skin.Anyway the moral of the story is always get really nice soap—you never know what crazy person is judging the hell out of you for it.

What do you splurge on when you spend money?

Gifts. I am a good spender and really enjoy giving thoughtful gifts. I hate wasting my money.
