Should I Save This Dog

Would you let a human die in order to save your dog?

Yes, I would without hesitation. And honestly, if someone else had a dog that they absolutely loved and it meant that they had to let me die, I wouldn’t like it obviously but I couldn’t really blame them. Although the whole situation would obviously immensely suck and I’d try to get out of it if possible but I wouldn’t blame them for choosing their dog over a total stranger. It’s choosing a total stranger’s life over your beloved family member. I’d always choose my beloved family member without hesitation.I don’t understand the obsession with putting human life above animal life. They are both living things that want to live. Most humans aren’t going to find the cure to cancer or do anything noteworthy in their life, so the average human’s life isn’t anymore important than an animals. And call me cynical, but I think humans can be so toxic that the chance of a toxic human dying is probably pretty high so I won’t even have to feel that bad. But if it was a “good” person, then I would feel beyond terrible and it would stick with me forever. It would obviously suck but I would absolutely choose my dog over a random human, it’s not even a question. But I do acknowledge that I won’t have the higher moral ground but who cares about that, when it’s my dog’s life I’m talking about.

Who would you save, your dog or a stranger?

If i had time to think about it then it would be the life of a stranger but i don't tend to think things through, so if i was put into that situation my first action would be to save my dog- if i hadn't thought things through.

My dog dying would be tragedy to me and my family members (and possibly some of my family friends). The stranger dying would be a tragedy to potential wife/partner, children.

I do believe that a humans life is more valuable than an animals, i'm not denying that but because i'm the type of person that follows my heart more than my head 90% of the time, my dog would be the one i go for first.

This stranger may have the potential to do a lot of good in world, yes, but this stranger also has the potential to do a lot of bad in the world- for all i know this person could be a rapist/murderer/criminal of some-sort. I've let my dog(s) die for one of those people. I love my dog, i don't know this stranger and i have no doubt that if it was me and someone elses dog in that situation the owner would, 80% of the time, save their dog over me.

ADD: I'm not saying that i wouldn't want someone to save me over a dog but i know that many people would save their dog over me.

Should I get a dog?or save my money for a horse?

I think you need to do a little soul searching here, and talk to your parents.

First off, can you afford a horse? You say you have $950, but that's two months of cheap boarding and possibly a hoof trim. What about after that? What about lessons? What about training? What about tack? What about vet? What if your horse dies? (It's $600 or more to dispose of a horse.)

You can find horses for free, for cheap, certainly for $950. It's a tough economy right now, and upkeep for a horse is really expensive. How much of the upkeep are your parents willing to take care of?

If they're willing to pay for everything, and you just need to pay for the horse--well then it's up to you. Do you like riding? What is it are you looking for in particular? Competition? A partnership? Companionship with other like minded people?

This is just another solution, but if you want a dog, you want a partnership, competition, and other like minded people, why don't you get that dog and try agility? It's a dog competition based on horse show jumping, but adjusted to dogs. Just like in horses, the fastest "Clear round" wins. You'll never run out of stuff to teach the dog, and upkeep for a dog is far, far cheaper. They're also infinitely cheaper to move. (It cost me $2,000 to move my horse when I moved away from my parents. If I'd had a dog, he could have just jumped in the cab.)

Right now, I think you're in pain from the loss of your cat. Your heart is hurting, and you're lonely. Any decision you make now, is probably not a good one. Give it a few weeks to let your sore heart heal. Then decide.

How can I save a dog?

Hi everyone,I want to share an incident that occurred today evening. I was trying to cross the road to meet a friend, who was on the other side. So I crossed halfway and I was at the divider and I saw a small dog at the divider, which was a bit far from me. I was trying to cross the other half and when I almost crossed the road, I heard a dog screaming. The same dog has been hit by a bike!! Luckily nothing happened to the dog. Actually, the dog was trying to cross the road as I crossed the road (it was basically following me to cross the road which I’m not aware of).I never saw a dog at the divider, So I didn’t get the thought to help it. I request everyone to not repeat what I did to that poor dog.REQUEST: If you see any dog/animal at the divider, please pick it up and drop it safely on the other side.

What do dreams about saving your dog mean?

in the past i've had dreams about saving my dog gobo. i remember two from about a year ago where i've had to save her from drowning. and this past weekend i dreamed that i saw someone pull a gun on her and while saving her i got shot. then last night i dreamed she wasnt MY dog, but it WAS gobo and i was taking care of her and something was wrong and i had to get her to a hospital to get tests to try to save her life.

i dont get why in my most vivid dreams she's always a part. yet i dont think i have ever once dreamed about my other dog and he's the one we have to worry about in real life!! what does this mean?

in the dream this weekend, i actually woke up right after and fell asleep and had the same dream again, but i remember thinking i know what i have to do this time (but still wasnt able to do it), and then the dream last night she had a lion's haircut and a tail (she's australian shepherd, she doesnt have a tail). in the ones from a year ago, she was drowing but she's a great swimmer and loves water in real life. what is going on in my head?

Would you rather save the life of 1 human being or the life of 50 dogs?

Context is kingI currently (by my actions) value the life of one cat over the lives of many humans. While our pet cat provides some utility (she keeps the mouse and rat population in check and she is comfortable to stroke at night) she costs money to feed and vaccinate on an annual basis. This money could instead go to Save the Children or MSF and make a huge difference to the lives of others. (Yes, I help fund these charities, but that is irrelevant, for the cost of the cat I could fund them incrementally more). However, I’d kill a thousand pet cats, dogs, whales, cute fluffy bunnies to protect my children. So to me, some cats (or dogs) have move value than some humans, some humans have more value than any cats (or dogs).Similarly, by my actions, I also seem to value one latte $2.00 over the life of a foreign child dying from a preventable disease. The polio vaccine costs $0.12 a two drop dose.https://secure.msf.org.uk/donate...

Dreaming of saving my dog?

Dogs are traditionally guilds in the underworld (unconscious).
It is an instinctual element in man essentially . Normally this is what is socialized out of us (society =pack). It is the individual values pitted against collective values (what society says is right and wrong)- these are the ones that tell you to be "nice" when something in you tells you to be otherwise. The dream is a good thing- it 's telling you that threw all of the ups and downs in life (the trampoline) don't be taken by the "herd" creature mentality. The number three is a designated expression of the family unit. The lesson is to find a path of integrity. Do not abandon your self ( in your dreams, this is your dog) because you can't make everyone happy. That you are using your entire body to protect him means that you are using everything you have to try to defend yourself against an on slot of criticism of some kind.

Why does my dog save his treat until I come home?

This is a question for anyone with knowledge or experience in dog behavior.

Whenever I leave the house for a short period, I confine my dog and leave him a treat. If it's a little treat (like a tiny cookie or a kong with a little peanut butter) he goes right for it and it's often gone before I even get out the door. But if it's a larger cookie or a pig's ear, he will not touch it until I come back home again. As soon as I get him out of his crate or his pen, he grabs the treat and eats it immediately.

This is not causing any kind of problem, it just has me extremely curious. Any thoughts?

How will you save yourself if you are chased by a dog?

Ok. You’re being told to be assertive - to meet aggression with aggression. This could work, maybe, or it could trigger the dog to attack. You’re not going to outrun it for sure.So ignore it. Dogs defuse situations with other dogs by not confronting them. By averting their eyes so they are not making eye contact, and turning their heads and bodies away to emphasise this. Watch a couple of strange dogs meeting in the street and you’ll see this. Therefore, turn your face and body away from the dog (yes, not easy if a dog’s chasing you and you want to see what it’s up to, but at least turn side on). Then get really interested in something else, like your mobile phone or a tree, or anything nearby.Wait till the dog gets bored and wanders away when it realises you’re not a threat. It won’t work for all dogs, particularly if you’ve strayed on to their territory and they are very aggressive. But it stands a better chance as a tactic than getting fierce.
