Should I Set Myself On Fire Out Of Boredom

I'm retired and bored?

As hard as I try I am unable to understand how a person can be bored. Seriously, I am struggling to be able to understand boredom. People complain about it, so it must be bad, but what must the sensation be like is what I wonder about.

I retired a few years ago, but I had a huge list of projects I could finally choose from. That was 7 years ago, and I have written one book and done a number of other significant projects. My struggle is that I still have a huge list of interests, and don't know which one to do.

Maybe you need to think of something radically new, like learning the piano or violin. Maybe genealogy, that is one I am into, and I have my ancestors identified back 11 generations now, and still finding more. Genealogy is like a disease that gets hold of a person.

How can I force myself to study my boring subjects?

Please note: This response has been drafted with a satirical sense of humor. So if you easily get offended, please don't read on.OK, back to your answer. To put it in simple words "There is no easy way to get through a boring subject".But what can help you is the 'Rocket Theory; which I am pretty sure you are aware of.However, for people who don't know. Here it goes.In a year we have 365 days to study. Out of which 52 days are Sundays so that leaves us with 313 days. During the Spring, due to a good weather it’s hard to concentrate on studies, hence minus 50 days. Now we have 263 days left. Usually a person sleeps 8 hours a day which is 122 days in total. So, now only 141 days left to study. All of us spend 1 hour doing something that we like (hobbies), that reduces another 15 days. So, 126 days left. Everyday we spend at least 2 hours eating. Minus 30 days, 96 days left to study. During the year, 90 days of it we spend outside. That leaves us with 6 days. Every person is sick at least 3 times in a year, minus another 3 days. Everyone who has pet at home spends at least 20 minutes feeding or walking the animal. Which is 2 days. That leaves us 1 day.Now by reading this you will understand that you don’t have enough time to study the whole subject a.k.a Ass on fire, much like a rocket. Conclusion(Edited) : Hence, the answer to your question is, "There is no easy way out my friend. JUST OPEN THE BOOK, start reading and spend as much time possible".Addition: Study with attention, if you could gain knowledge just by opening books, librarians would be the most intelligent beings in the planet.

Have you ever dared yourself to do something when you alone?

I was sitting in the spare room by myself, and I was talking to myself and dared myself to swallow a bead I saw on the floor. I swallowed it, then I felt a little... uh....odd.
