Should I Sleep Or Not Bother With It

Can't be bothered to sleep?!?

Hope you've avoided caffeine and sugar for at least four hours prior going to bed. As a general rule, if you're really not sleepy it's better to get out of bed and do some light reading (preferably boring material). When you're feeling a little tired, go back to bed.
You can also do some relaxation exercises while in bed. Start with deep breathing... slowly inhaling and slowly exhaling. Also, tense your muscles and then relax them. Many people like to start by tensing their facial muscles and then moving down the body: neck, shoulders, arms, hands, stomach, legs, feet. Repeat if necessary. It's important to try to feel like you're melting as you relax those muscles. The lighter you feel, the more relaxed you will be and the more likely you will doze off. Good luck :)

Is it better to sleep for an hour or not sleep at all?

The human sleep cycle is a complicated thing, and it has a rhythm.  The sleeper tend to rise into a "shallower" REM sleep about every 1½ hours, from which awakening is easier.  One hour tends to find the average person in stage 4 sleep, from which awakening is very difficult; in my experience one will be groggy and good for nothing – in fact, still partially asleep – until that full 1½ hour mark is reached.  The three-hour peaks tend to be shallower than the odd-numbered 1½ hour peaks. If brief relief from sleep deprivation, with acceptable functionality on wakening, is the goal, one hour is probably not the right time.  Either catch a 15-20 minute "catnap", or go the full 1½ hours, preferably three. But you can only do this once, maybe twice, before having to sleep long and heavily.  Short sleeps like this heavily deprive the brain of REM sleep (because most of our REM sleep happens later in a full night's sleep); and lack of REM sleep is particularly detrimental to cognitive function, especially memory and judgement. (This is why late-night cramming doesn't work well; REM sleep is the period during which one consolidates memory.)You need your sleep; shortchanging yourself in this area is destructive to body and mind. (And also, if you're doing things like operating heavy machinery or power equipment on sleep deprivation, or a similarly fraught activity such as energetic-materials chemistry, then other people's bodies, not to mention property, are at risk.) Seriously, if at all possible, get your sleep.

I can't sleep, i'm all hot and bothered and jut can't get comfey or sleep or get tired, help please?!

have you tried a cool, not cold shower. and don't just lay in bed. if you haven't gone to sleep in 20 minutes, get out of bed and if you can get out of your bedroom. do something else; read, watch tv, say on YA a little while then go back and try. of course if you have to get up at like 7 or 8, i've found it' s better to just stay up. if i'm going to get less than 3 hours sleep, i just give up. that little amount of sleep makes me feel worse than if i just stay up. you'll have a crappy day, but when you get home, you'll be in a good position to get enough sleep the following night.

It's 5am, should I even bother sleeping?

Well, I went to bed at 6am the other day and wasn't feeling tired at all. I don't regret it at all, it did take me a bit to fall asleep. But you are probably going to regret it if you don't go to sleep, you will feel like crap throughout the day if you don't, trust me. Plus, this is NOT a good habit to get into! Specially when you go to college... I say get into the right sleeping groove, and sweet dreams.

Should I let my dog sleep on my bed? Why/why not?

I’m going to take a different approach here…First understand this: dogs are pack animals and they look up to you as the pack leader. So they want to be close to you! If you don’t let them sleep with you, at least offer them a nice doggie bed or blanket on the floor next to your bed.As for the pros and cons to letting them sleep IN the bed?I hate to say it but it really depends…Potential “ickys”Like others here have said, dogs don’t have shoes. So if you don’t bother to wipe down their paws or give them frequent baths after long walks outside, then you do tend to get a lot of dirt and other not-so-hygienic stuff laying next to you or on your pillow. Also, if you don’t keep up with properly grooming your dog and if the breed is prone to shedding, then you’re going to have a lot of hair on the sheets.Potential “benefits”Circadian rhythms: dogs thrive on routine and make excellent alarm clocks which ensures humans usually get better sleep. The presence of a dog (you know they love to live in the moment), they are a great partner to practice mindfulness and stillness. I love waking up to cuddles. There’s something special about being close to my pooches.Dogs have sleep cycles much similar to that of humans in that they go into REM (8–12% of their time is spent there) source: How Much Do Dogs Sleep and How Many Hours Does Fido Really Need Per Day? (The ANSWERS may surprise you!)In the link above I included, there’s also some studies showing cuddling with your dog released a hormone called oxytocin in humans and dogs! [1]It helps form bonds and reduces stress to promote a restful night! Also consider some dogs have anxiety and other sleep disorders so keeping them close to you may benefit both you and the pup!Now puppies are a bit different, so I only speak of adult dogs here.To avoid “messes” always feed earlier in the day, set routines and take them outside at night before bed. Also, coming back to the messy dog paws point, if you walk your dog on pavement a lot or on messy areas in an urban environment, just take a damp towel and wipe down their paws - this really helps minimize the mess inside the house! If your primary concern is yucky messes in the bed, just follow the steps above and you are good to go!Or just get a doggy bed close to you and train your pooch to stay down there :)Hope this helped!!Footnotes[1] How Much Do Dogs Sleep and How Many Hours Does Fido Really Need Per Day? Can u give a baby a bath while their asleep?

I guess that depends on if you can get the water the perfect temp to not wake them up. Or if you can take off their clothes while letting them sleep. If your asking if it is harmful, no not really. Possible, yes, but it's not easy I would imagine. I would have just given her a bath at night and taken her out in the morning. This way she can sleep and will not be cranky later when you are running around, since there is a good chance she will awaken for the bath. The fact is while not taking a shower in the morning may bother you, it will not bother her...but losing sleep will, and she will let you know it :-)

Does noise or music bother cats while they are sleeping/napping?

With my cat nothing bothers him while he is sleeping. The t.v. won't even wake him up even if it is loud. I've played music in my room and he sleeps right it. He would sleep through the loud, squeaky hamster wheel and he is right next to it.
Maybe your cat will be the same way. So I would say no, music and noise will not disturb a cat from sleeping.

Which one is better: sleeping for only two-four hours or not sleeping at all?

Since I only sleep 2–4 anyway-sometimes I’m up for 72 hours. Never have need much sleep my whole life-now at 69 no big deal.If you can get into REM sleep in that time -do it! If you are unable to relax completely-stay up. Do something productive with your time. Last night for example; went to bed at 9:30 read magazine or book for an hour fell asleep at 10:30 awoke at 2:30;3:00 fixed coffee(only drink 2–4 cups a day in morning), went to garage and started hand sanding areas unable to reach with power sanders on Jeep J20 PU!Since I haven’t needed sleep like normal people I would take a second job not in my own trade just to learn something new. It has paid off big time through out my life.If you can’t sleep make money or finish projects you want or need to do.Remember the long dirt nap lasts forever!John J

Should I sleep shirtless?

I would definitely lose the shirt. I've been sleeping shirtless for several years now - I'm a lot more comfortable and I sleep a lot better.

BTW, I wouldn't be worried about your parents looking in on you. I'd think they would understand.
