Should I Start Eli Manning Over Kirk Cousins

Should I start Favre or Eli Manning this week?

i would start Eli because SF has a terrible secondary and the giants will rebound from the beat down they got from the browns :D.

Should I start Eli Manning or Tim Tebow?

I like Tebow.

He has the chance to put up an epic game that will be talked about everytime he steps onto the field. You don't want to say he was on my bench for that game.

How would YOU feel if you were Kirk Cousins?

If I was him I would look at it like this. RG3 reminds me a bit of Mike Vick except RG3 is a much better Passer all ready. But I can see RG3 getting hurt, so just keep busting his A$$ so you can be the number 2 QB and come in when he is hurt then if you prove you can play against the big boys then get traded to a team where you can be a starter.

Should I start Kirk Cousins or Eli Manning?

Based on yesterday's results, Manning who went 13/25 for 161 yds, 0 TDs, 2 INTs in a shutout loss to the Falcons, 0-34, the first time the Giants have been shutout since 1996, while Kirk Cousins completed 26/37 passes for 329 yds, with 2 TD's and 1 INT, in a 38-21 victory of the Browns.....I hope you went with Cousins!

I wish I had seen the question sooner, I would have convinced you to pick Kirk Cousins. I honestly felt he would have a break out game against the Browns.

Manning is never reliable. Either one week he is amazing, or the next, he turns the ball over several times. Plus he was up against the Falcons.

Hope you picked Cousins! And if you went with Eli, I am sorry! :(

Who Should I Start This Week Eli Manning or Brett Favre?

Eli as well. I have the same set-up and was pulling hairs figuring this one out and I am going with Eli on this, I too believe he will be involved in a passing shoot-out against the equally offensive Cards....... there is a SMALL likelihood that Favre might get injured against the Pitt defense, as they have done that in the past.

A2A. I’ve been thinking about this one for awhile. They’re both in a similar class and both are paid similar amounts of money (Cousins has a slightly higher average per year and more guaranteed, but Stafford signed his most recent deal a year before Cousins and didn’t test free agency). If you look at approximate value over the last four years (as defined by www.pro-football-reference.com), they are equal. If you look at them statistically over the course of their career (or the last four years since Cousins became a 16 game starter), Cousins has better numbers overall. Higher passer rating. Higher QBR. Better completion percentage. More yards per attempt. To the extent we think that “clutch” is a thing, I’d give that edge to Stafford for the time being. The last two times the Lions made the playoffs (2014 and 2016), he had 5 fourth quarter comebacks and game winning drives in an 11–5 season and 8 fourth quarter comebacks and game winning drives in a 9–7 season, respectively. The Lions have been so bad for so long that it can be hard to know how much of the blame for their lousy play should be assigned to Stafford. He is the only QB in the history of the Lions to lead his team to three playoff berths (of course, he’s also the longest-tenured QB).It’s hard for me to say. The numbers suggest Cousins, but I’ve seen Stafford impress me more often. Cousins has never led an offense that’s been better than mediocre. Stafford hasn’t often, but we’ve seen a couple of high powered offenses led by Stafford over the years. Perhaps this year we’ll see if Cousins actually manages to do something productive in Minnesota and show himself to be more than just an expensive three year lease.

Is Eli Manning an Elite QB?

well he is progressively getting there
id say 1-2 more seasons are needed, then he'll soar...
Right now, people are critisicing him still because he has to live up to the manning name. People dont understand the difficulties of losing your #1 deep threat WR in the middle of a season... I mean if manning still had burress the wouldnt have been such an issue at all... He would still be up in high ranks. But since burress went and shot himself, Manning was in crappy situation. Think of McNabb if he lost DeSean Jackson, would he still be a top 5 qb? My point is, you cant expect a qb NOT to have a rough season if he lost his go to guy. Its the same with all qb-wr connections.

edit: He definitely showed signs of eliteness during the playoffs in 2008, last year, he threw only one interception throughout the entire playoff journey and that was in the superbowl

He’s definitely a good quarterback. In a league where half the teams are desperate for even competent quarterback play, he’s a hot commodity - which is why the Redskins have franchised him two consecutive years and someone’s going to pay him a lot of money this coming offseason. And despite his limitations, he has done well enough to have earned that contract. He’s not a great quarterback; there’s a stark difference between him and the elite (Rodgers, Brady, Brees, etc.) but there’s an equally stark difference between him and the worst starting QBs around the NFL. He’s no Mike Glennon or Blake Bortles, and I’d take him over Alex Smith, Eli Manning, or Joe Flacco. He doesn’t have a single outstanding attribute like Matthew Stafford’s arm strength and he hasn’t produced an MVP-caliber season like Matt Ryan, but some teams could talk themselves into him being a poor man’s version of either one of those players. Both were good for a very long time before eventually being recognized as great. Personally, I think a more reasonable comparison might be Andy Dalton - a good quarterback who does everything well enough to lead a respectable football team, at least during the regular season. Whether he can elevate his play and that of his teammates to success in the postseason is more debatable.(Side note: in college when I was rooming with a football player, Kirk Cousins came to our school and spoke to the football team. All of the players I was friends with spoke very highly of him and said he seemed like a great guy. Still doesn’t make him a superstar, but I’m personally happy to see him do well.)

My best guess would be Denver, for me it was between them and Jacksonville but in a recent statement - they mentioned that they would be “Sticking with Bortles”. So that marked Jacksonville off the list. Denver is also where he will succeed the most (personally). This is simply because they have a good receiving core, good half-back options, and their defense would simply dominate as they have in previous years. Of course if they do end up getting rid of Talib it will make a gap in terms of pass coverage, but knowing the Broncos, they’ll fix that quick.
