Should I Wake Up At Four Or Five

Why do I wake up after 4 to 5 hours?

This happens to me all the time as well - it’s completely natural. There is a phenomenon called biphasic sleep, where you sleep in two periods during a twenty-four hour period. Usually this would mean 4–5 hours asleep, then an hour or two awake, then a few more hours of sleep. Our ancestors used to sleep like this, and even referred to these periods as “first” and “second” sleep. In modern times we’ve dropped this habit in favor of efficiency (if you sleep through the night you have an extra one or two hours to get more work done in the day), but it doesn’t mean that it’s a bad way to sleep. If you have the flexibility to wake up a bit later and you can get back to sleep, you’ll feel great. One technique that helps me sleep through the night, believe it or not, is a tablespoon or two of almond butter before bed. The theory is that this keeps your blood sugar even as you sleep, so you’re less likely to wake up. Seems to work most of the time. A guaranteed way for me not to wake up is taking a small amount of Benadryl, but I don’t like to do this very often.

Waking up after only 3-4 hours of sleep?

You are describing a type of insomnia which can be caused by many reasons. If humanly possible, avoid anything with caffeine after noon. Even coffee after noon, colas, mt. dew, and certain OTC meds like Exedrin, Anacin. Codeine and tobacco use can interfere with normal sleep cycle. Computer needs to be off a couple of hrs. before bed. Avoid shows with a lot of action at night as well. These overstimulate brain waves. There's tons of research about this. Please check out these as well. It will be worth your time~ :)

Should I wake my four-year-old if he hasn't eaten dinner yet?

I really love Nita's answer cause she's completely right! These preschoolers should have a schedule going already, so if they are asleep while everyone is eating, do all the parent checks- Is he hot, is he going to puke, was he incontinent, is he really lethargic, does he get total pissed if you try to wake him up, is he holding an ear, are his lips dry, will he drink some juice or ginger ale. You've had him 4 years already so you have some intuition on if he's getting sick. Toddlers and preschoolers love to get sick around 2am on Friday and Saturday nite. Or did y'all just have a rip roaring day at the waterpark and he's exhausted and ate too many Skittles. So if he seems pretty tired on this off kinda day, I would just eat quietly, go to bed early, and check him through the night. And you won't be the only mom who let her angel wear his regular clothes instead of PJs to bed. Unless you want to be The Joker at midnight.

How do I make myself wake up at 5 AM?

I keep trying to wake up at 5 AM but everytime it's the same scenario. Basically my cellphone alarms goes off at 5 AM and I just automatically turn it off and go back to bed.

I know I should sleep early to wake up early but I need the cycle to begin first if I want this to work. For example if I want to sleep at 10 PM to wake up at 5 AM , I'd need to be up from 5 AM the same day otherwise I won't fall asleep. So basically I can't get the cycle started because I just turn off the alarm everytime.

What time do you wake up every morning?

I am just curious.
What time do you wake up, and what time do you WISH you could wake up?
I wake up at 4:30 am (Early morning seminary), and I wish I could wake up NEVER! Just kidding. I would much rather wake up around 6:30 like I used to.
On the weekends I can sleep in till noon.

Why do I keep waking up at 4 AM?

Note: I don't believe in superstition. I rather follow scientific approach which is done on the basis of research and studies and on the unexplained - having both reasons of scientific and cosmic/paranormal in nature. I myself use to wake up at 3.00 am exact for few weeks. My Answer:Waking up between 3am and 5am is associated with the energy meridian that runs through the lungs and the emotion of sadness. To help yourself get back to sleep, try some slow, deep breathing and express faith in your Higher Power to help you.If the time that you awaken is between 3:00 am and 5:00am, it could also be a sign of your Higher Power alerting you to pay attention to messages that are being sent to align you with your higher purpose. Read more below about this important time frame for wakefulness.Your sleep cycle is a time when you dream and you can also receive messages from the Divine about your path. Dreams can reveal details about the spiritual journey that you are on. As a human being on a spiritual journey, you need to be aware of the signs that your Higher Power is sending to you.In the same way that emotional problems can manifest in the body as pain, your spirituality can also manifest in bodily form as well. The divine inner spark that we all posses is being called upon at the time that you are waking up. This signal from your Higher Power is something to tune into. Conclusion:Whether or not you believe in an ascension, when you wake repeatedly between 3:00am and 5:00am, the pattern is something that is clearly not normal for you. Your Higher Power needs you to pay attention at this time so tune in to the messages that are being sent to you, and take action to align yourself with the Divine.Source: If You Wake Up At The Same Time Every Night, This May Be Why -

Is it better to wake up naturally after 4-5 hours, or go back to sleep and wake up with the alarm after 6-7 hours?

Every natural function is widely preferable to any technical intrusion. When you sleep 5 hours long and wake up rested and feel well, there’s no reason why you should still lay down and try to sleep again and undergo an alarm. Each one of us has similar needs, an adult suould sleep about 6–8 hours. But there are some people whose need is wider, and some whose need is shorter. An alarm is necessary when you must go to work, and you’re not sure you’re able to wake up in time.

I naturally wake up after sleeping 5 hours. Should I go back to sleep?

Sleep naturally comes in cycles of roughly 90 minutes, and it’s said that we need between 3 and 5 cycles. Each cycle follows a pattern which ends with REM sleep (the kind where you dream, and essential for a good night’s sleep). I find my first cycle is usually more like 2 hours, perhaps partly because of the time it takes to get to sleep in the first place. If you follow the usual pattern, then you are waking up after 3 cycles, which MAY be enough for you. However, it is perfectly normal to wake after a number of cycles and then go back to sleep for one or two more. I typically wake briefly after 6.5 hours (4 cycles), then go back to sleep and wake again, feeling refreshed, after another 90 minutes (8 hours or 5 cycles in all). It depends whether you feel fully awake and alert after your 3 cycles.

Why do I wake up at 4:48 a.m at least 5 days a week? Do these numbers have some sort of meaning in my life?

Apart from answers factual or facetious, you are not alone, fellow lark. Only, let me tactfully remind you of the concept of selective memory. I myself always wake up at 04.00. Except when I don't, but it is hardly ever more than five minutes off. Wherever I lived, and that was in various places. Do I remember well?Whether those five days were weekdays you left unmentioned. Pity.Furthermore, it is all to easy mocking about your possible numerology. ( Ask this hard-and-fast scientist who for forty-four years had been haunted, I mean really haunted, by the figure 158.)My poor two cents.
