My son is complaining of hearing "screaming in his head". Does anyone know what causes this & how to stop it?
Wow, this is a hard one to pinpoint. How thorough was the doctor when he checked your son for physical problems? I'm thinking, if it's physical, maybe he has a problem with his ears that a doctor wouldn't be able to see just from a superficial examination. If the doctor thinks it might be something like that, your son should see an ENT (ear/nose/throat) doctor. If the 'screaming' is psychological in nature, it may be symptomatic of a few different disorders. The main one that stands out is schizophrenia, because auditory hallucinations (hearing voices, etc.) are common. I doubt that your son is schizophrenic though, so don't get too worried until you talk to the doctor again and maybe see a specialist. When the episodes happen, is he aware that the screaming is coming from himself and not from another person (like, is he aware that it isn't someone else talking to him inside his head)? It may simply be a weird, quirky, passing phenomenon. How old is your son, by the way? I would say that if this happens again, just remain calm (the more calm you are, the less agitated he will get) and soothe him. Just reassure him that it will stop and nothing is going to hurt him. See if you can determine where he thinks the screaming is coming from... then when you see the doctor again, tell him what you observed. I hope you get this resolved... make sure the Dr. follows up with you and doesn't just sweep it under the rug. Whether it's physical or psychological in nature, if it continues to happen, your son definitely needs to see a specialist of some kind. EDIT---- I think it's a good sign that he knows the sounds are not coming from a separate 'voice' inside his head, and also a great sign that he's functioning so well in school and home life. I guess all you can do is follow up with the doctor and make sure he gets thoroughly checked out by an ENT. Good luck... I hope he doesn't experience it any more, and if he does, that you guys figure out what it is.

I find it incredulous that Americans see themselves as the "policemen of the world". History has shown that every medium to long intervention in the 20th and 21st centuries has resulted in either the status quo being preserved after US troops had departed, or a worse, an "unforeseen" option such as ISIS, had filled the void. All with substantial US personnel losses, vast numbers of non-combatant losses and unaccounted-for trillions of missing or wrongly-distributed funds.What President Obama has attempted to do - with extremely limited success - is to streamline US' offense to take account of the new and very real external threats. The offensive against US infrastructure - financial, and more worrying, production (SCADA), water and electrical power reticulation (again, SCADA). The recently announced cut of 40,000 Army troops and 17,000 civilian support personnel, would still leave the Army with 450,000 troops, well over the number required to serve the current never-ending conflicts. The probability that the US would ever be involved in a ground war with either or both China and North Korea is slim - these wars will be fought in a different arena, where the personnel count-to-damage ratio is much higher: Water, Food, Electrical Power reticulation, Satellite destruction or lastly, specialized weaponry (NOT the F-35...).The military is hopefully being streamlined to meet these new threats.As for allocating blame to the Obama Administration's cuts to the military making the military weaker, it does seem that personnel deployed to combat zones now have adequate protection in armor and kevlar. As Mr. Rumsfeld remarked so quaintly "You go to war with what you've got", leaving troops to cobble together armor for their HVs and kevlar for troops. Lastly, The Pentagon was required to submit to an audit in 1996. It has yet to comply with that particular law. Since 1996, $8.5 Trillion is unaccounted for. All politicians too a certain degree are arrogant, cocky and self centered; it comes with the job. If you’re not, politics eats you alive.Of all the Presidents I’ve known in my life I’d say Carter was probably the least self confident or arrogant of Presidents in the past 50 years.Nixon was a very typical politician - when he wasn’t kissing babies, he was stealing their lollipops. Reagan was self-assured, confident and he commanded respect “likeable” is an easy word to apply to Reagan. Clinton was very self-confident but he never came off arrogant. Both Bush’s were humble yet confident (George Sr. more than George Jr.). Obama was (and still is) a smug, arrogant SOB to the point of ridiculousness. He tried to have Clinton’s coolness, but it just came off as “put on”. Trump is cocky and walks with a strut. He demands and commands attention. You know who the boss is when he’s in the room. Trump doesn’t have the finesse of a Washington politician so he comes across as abrasive and blunt - but that’s just the New Yorker in him - he simply doesn’t care what you think. All of us who live in NYC are not surprised by anything he says because he’s been in the news here for decades and we know him very well.Just look at the Democrat field for 2020 - it’s a narcissism convention.

This isn't a cancer question, but I know a man had one and he pretty much died within minutes of it rupturing. I also know a woman, that didn't die after hers leaked and caused a stroke. Drs spent quite a while "chasing" it around, keeping it at bay until they found the source of the bleed. She's home now and doing well.

Tell you doctor you want a prescription for Kwell, it will get rid of the scabies. Now it can cause brain damage, but if you leave it on, (from head to toe) over night and shower it off, you will be alright. Now in addition to this, you must take everything off your beds, I mean everything, matress pad, sheets, dust ruffle, pillow cases,put these in hot sudsy water and turn on the washing machine. pillows, and any rugs must be either washed or steam cleaned, curtains must be washed or steam cleaned. The trouble is most people do not want to go to all this trouble and they get reinfested. And find out who you are getting them from, and do not go back to that place, even for a visit.
