Should Putin Invade Ukraine Today

Why did putin invade the ukraine?

'Absolute power corrupts absolutely'.....he's gradually gained absolute power over Russia and now he's lost his senses. He's rebuilding the Russian empire, and wants Ukraine because it used to belong to Russia.
People make all these silly 'political excuses' for him but that's what it 'really' is.
Please read http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ Jan. 2014 magazine in their 'archive' about Putin's bizarre obsession with the Russian Sochi Winter Olympics of last month which he insisted on. As Russian dictator he's come to think he can have anything he wants. He has a 1 million man military, 1200 combat planes, about 4000 tanks, a huge nuclear arsenal and submarines.

Why did Russia invade Ukraine?

That is not an invasion for the purpose of waging war. It is to protect those Russian ethnics and citizens under siege by gangster nationalist Ukrainian thugs in eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Russia has national and security interests to protect. The U.S. cries national security all the time while it is a few thousand miles from the countries it attacks.

Why is Russia invading Ukraine?

You see Ukraine used to be apart of The Soviet Union. In 1954 they acted to be their own country. Crimea is a large city in the Ukraine. 60% of their population speaks Russian. The Ukrainian president passed a bill to strengthen relations between the European Union. President Putin didn't like that so he made the Ukrainian president decline the bill and that started protest in the Ukraine. Crimea is mostly full of pro Russian citizens. So Russia wants Crimea back. Also the Ukrainian government is poor and they are considering war against Russia. If that's the case it would be a terrible match up. Russia would kill them and the Ukraine would go so deep into debt they probably won't be a country anymore.

Why did Russia invade Ukraine?

Ukraine was pulling away from the Russian sphere of influence. It even had desires to join the EU where it saw a brighter economic future it had not realized clinging to Russia. It had been a traditional part of greater Russia from before the USSR. It would have been a psychological blow to Putin's image of a strong Russia. Just as importantly, Russia's entire Black Sea Fleet was based in the Crimea, a part of Ukraine. While Russia has a solid lease on the land for decades to come, I'm sure it was making a national security problem even more troublesome and even embarrassing. Russia invaded to secure the Crimea and then Ukrainian land to secure land access to it. As for what Putin wants to do about the rest, who knows. The may have intimidated what's left of Ukraine to keep it's ties with Russian and not the EU.

Is Russia "invading" Ukraine now?

Alarmed by your question I rushed across to the most reliable cource of news the BBC website and enclose the link. They do seem to have occupied the airport.
