Should The Two 12 Year Old Girls That Stabbed Another Girl 19 Times Be Sent To Jail For Public

What is the worst child abuse story you have ever heard?

It's between

Dave Pelzer-
His mother nearly starved him, burnt him with the stove, stuck him in a bathroom two separate buckets of ammonia and clorox. made him bathe in a cold bath and sit outside naked trying to dry off. made him throw up if he ate something, and then eat it. she stabbed him in the stomach. she tried to make him eat her baby's dirty diaper.

or

Sylvia Likens-
wasn't even her parents, her parents sent her to a woman named Gertrude for twenty dollars a week for board with her handicap sister. she received cigarette burns, whips, forcibly was told to stick a coke bottle of her vagina, tied to her bed and urinated on herself with no food for several days. tied to a pole in the basement where neighborhood kids were allowed to go and beat her up. she died because Gertrude and her tons of kids took a heated needle and wrote "I'm a prostitute and proud of it."

both took place in the 1960s, Dave Pelzer lived, Sylvia Likens died. Pelzer was from California and Likens was from Indiana.

Should the two 12 year old girls that stabbed another girl 19 times be sent to jail for public safety?

They will be evaluated for their mental condition first. If it is determined that they knew what they were doing and the consequences of their actions, they can be tried as adults and sentences as such (Wisconsin doesn't have the death penalty, but if they did, this would be the only thing they could be sentenced to). If they are shown to be legally insane (as opposed to clinically, which is completely different), they may be confined to a mental health institution, and that could, and usually is, longer than they would have to do in prison. So don't go thinking that an insanity plea is a way to "get away with the crime".

How does a 12 year old think?

i am 12 years old turning 13 in january. i have been told i am very mature for my age so i dont know how this will help other people get into the mind of a 12 year old. lets say school wise i am in gt um when people ask what i want to be when i grow up i always say animal biologist because that is what i aspire to be. i am very well educated. unlike most kids my age especially at my school i love reading and trying to be healthy i have big dreams for life i just want to be succesful. i would also be a docter or lawyer(people always tell me im awesome at arguing hehe) and i would also love to be a singer or actress as a side career but that what i want to be. i have always been my teachers favorite (for my brain not behavior though) so again i am not like other 12 year olds. so thats education but lets talk about personality and how i am in general. i am the first to say i am the most dramatic person you will ever meet. no question. i am not so girly well, im like a mix because i love basketball and track and im in boxing but at the same time im also in modeling. i love doing my nails those are the girliest thing about me. i love clothes and shoes but that doesnt mean pink. i normally wear jeans a cute top and boots. or ill wear shorts a t-shirt and sneakers. but i also go to the gym. of course my gym clothes have to be cute as well. i absolutly love singing but i love reading as well. i am also christian and stick to that very well. i go to church every week because its my choice no on else.i know this is long but i just want to tell people how some 12 year olds think. im aware that some people think that they are just little devils while others think they have potential. people have heard me speak and talk about life and they even said that they didnt expect me to be the way i am. so please dont judge people based on there age. its not cool. it happens alot and i think its not ok. people dont normally expect for ME to be as intelligent as i am.okay thanks for reading!! bye

What should I do if someone threatened to stab me?

I'm not sure where you're located but at least in the U.K. a threat is considered an illegal offence thus, you can report the threat to the police if you wish. It is illegal to threaten to kill under s. 16 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1891: ‘A person who without lawful excuse makes to another a threat, intending that that other would fear it would be carried out, to kill that other or a third person shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years’.I sat in on a threat case in Swansea Crown Count: the Defendant had made a threat in front of a psychiatrist and a police officer that he was going to stab his pregnant girlfriend in the abdomen. For the Defendant to be convicted, the jury had to decide on whether the police and psychiatrist were in fear of the threat being carried out, not necessarily whether the threat would 100% be executed as stated. The jury found the Defendant guilty and he was given a custodial sentence. This illustrates how threat cases work in the courtroom.Your problem may be that you do not have a witness who will testify that they also believed that the threat was authentic. If there is no evidence, it'll obviously be difficult to prove. If the threat was to harm rather than murder, this would usually be a criminal offence under s. 4 Public Order Act 1986. However, bad news: under s. 4(2) Public Order Act 1986, a person does not commit a crime under s. 4 if the person issuing the threat and the person receiving the threat are in the same dwelling thus, you would not be able to go down this route. There is the possibility of suing him for the threat. Unfortunately, I do not have much knowledge of civil actions like these. There’s an interesting archaic case called Tuberville v Savage where a threat was issued in one of the Houses of Parliament and even today threats violate Tort Law. With civil actions, the judge has to decide on the verdict by who he thinks is right! Their opinion can be split as low as 51/49 where as a jury must deliberate the verdict beyond reasonable doubt (they must be around 99% sure that it the Defendant committed the crime). It really depends on what you want to gain out of this. I hope this information has helped a bit!

Should juvenile criminals be punished like adults?

It's a very hard question to answer, morally, ethically, politically. A 12 year old is not the same as a 17 year old, yet they are tried the same. A 17 and a half year old is almost exactly the same as an 18 year old, yet one is a juvenile. In my opinion, anyone below 18 year old should be treated according to the severity of the crime they commit, and the punishment should be brought closer to that for adults if damage on life is inflicted. A child may steal due to hunger, bad parenting, wrong peers but there's something seriously wrong with a rapist. In my opinions, juvenile crime should be divided into categories. Somewhat on the following lines:Stealing, underage drinking, drugs, unarmed robbery, these are crimes people can recover from.Manslaughter due to drunk driving, sure, the damage inflicted is severe, even irreversible, but it's not necessary that the person is unfixable. Punishment is necessary but so is juvenile counseling.Rapist, murderer teens. I feel no sympathy for them. Someone needs to be a sadist to pull these crimes off. They should be tried like adults in my opinion.

My sister threatened to beat me up?

Well you are doing the right thing by keeping your routes and schedules mixed up. And if you can help it don't park in the same spot each time. From the sound of it you have every right to look over your shoulder. Just keep up the vigil and don't back down. If you do start seeing people follow you then drive strait to police station or to a cop if you happen to see one and tell them you are being stalked. That is the next step if it escalates further. Just don't let your guard down for a while cause it sounds like she is a vengeful type of person who would do just about anything to get even with someone she feels wronged her.
