Should We Force Americans To Respect And Not Speak Up Against Cops And Dea Agents.

This happened in 2009. Maine State Police were chasing a suspected drunk driver who crossed the Canadian border into the province of New Brunswick in an area where there was no Customs officers housed. The police captured and arrested the driver — a Canadian — on Canadian soil. The Canadian authorities charged the man with illegal re-entry into Canada, and the American authorities disciplined the arresting officer with an unpaid suspension for illegally crossing into Canada.I don’t know exactly what happened to the driver, but my best guess would be that the case was thrown out. From a legal standpoint, this was a completely illegal arrest. The driver could be charged with failure to stop for the police inside the United States, but once he entered Canada the drunk-driving charge most likely would not have stuck.Trooper cited for chase into Canada

Two things need to be clarified first before I can answer this question.Do you mean arrested in the US or abroad? The CIA do not operate on US soil as a result of the CIA’s Charter. So there are no CIA “agents” active in the US to be arrested by an American police officer. When you say “agent” are you referring to intelligence officers who are the actual employees of an intelligence agency or are you referring to the people recruited by intelligence officers who are the actual agents? Agents are the people recruited by intelligence officers as they have either a lot of power or access to valuable information which the agency wants.I am assuming then that by your question, that when you say a CIA agent, you actually mean an intelligence officer. I am also assuming that this intelligence officer would be arrested abroad and not in the US. So if an undercover CIA intelligence officer is arrested abroad due to being a member of a terrorist organisation then the officer would probably tell the police that he was CIA. The police would then likely contact the nearest US embassy or consulate in order to confirm whether the person was actually CIA or whether he was bluffing. The chances are that if the embassy says they are indeed CIA then the police will release them provided certain details are shared regarding the operation. However, it depends which country the CIA officer was arrested in, some countries may react less favourably.Anyway, this situation is unlikely. Firstly, CIA intelligence officers don’t really infiltrate terrorist organisations like is portrayed on films and TV. Instead they recruit existing members of the organisation as agents. Secondly, the CIA would probably inform the intelligence agency of the nation which their undercover officer would be operating in. They would likely inform them because they could assist in their operation (provide resources etc) for their undercover officer and also they will be aware of this undercover in case things go awry which may result in this situation with their officer being arrested.

The Golden rule of any criminal organization is not to get too deeply involved in a war with the law enforcement. In most countries - the Government and Law Enforcement reluctantly come to the conclusion that crime is a fact of life and you cannot eradicate crime. To ensure that crime is controlled and the common man is not too greatly affected (causing governments to fall in elections) - the governments rely on an unofficial relationship between the cops/law enforcement and the criminal organizations. There are several unwritten codes but together they ensure that the society is reasonably safe. They include:Criminal Organizations like the Mafia seldom affect the common man. They dont interfere in a common mans life, they dont threaten common people, they dont hit on random women, they dont make neighborhoods dangerous - it is a golden rule. If there are troublemakers who give trouble to the common man, then the mafia usually eliminate/get rid of them to keep the golden rule.Criminal organizations like the Mafia hate publicity. Even the smallest front page report is poison to them. They hate their names being made public and prefer to be as quiet as possible (An Exception to this was the notorious Al Capone).Criminal Organizations have too many skeletons in their cupboards , so they rarely go to war especially against the law enforcement.
