Should We Take Our Daughter To The Er

My 11 year old daughter woke up with a fever it is 102.3 now about two hours after tylenol.?

Ok...let's not jump to conclusions about allergic reactions. If it is an allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, rash, wheezing etc.. give benadryl and take her to the ER, but that likely isn't it. She likely has the beginnings of the flu or other viral infection. You can give tylenol every 4 hours. You can give ibuprofen every 6 hours. So here is what you do. Give a dose of ibuprofen, if in 4hr or so, give tylenol, and alternate as needed. If the ibuprofen works well for 6 hours, you don't need to give tylenol. Catch my drift?
You can use cool, damp towels or cool (not cold, and no alcohol) baths to help keep the fever down.
If she gets short of breath, stops eating for a long period of time, start vomiting/diarrhea for a long time, especially with decreased eating, you may need to take her to the ER for dehydration, but it isn't likely. Keep letting her eat and drink as much as she wants and see your doctor first chance on Monday.
Many health insurance plans have 24 hour nurse lines, these are typically pretty good and might relieve some of your anxiety.

My son head butted my daughter in the mouth, should we go to ER?

My daughter will be 4 in october. Her and my 2 year old son were chasing each other around the house today and he head butted her in the mouth with his forehead. She was bleeding a lot so i made her rinse her mouth out with warm water and then i applied a cold compress and pressure to stop the bleeding. The bleeding stopped after a few minutes but she was still crying saying that it hurt. I put ice on it and gave her tylenol. She has never been to the dentist before so there wasn't a dentist i could call up to ask for advice. So i tried to call every dentist that is in our insurance network but they were all closed. I also tried to take her to 4 urgent care places in my area but they do not accept out insurance. While in the car driving to all these places she seemed to calm down a lot and asked if we could go home. She is distracted now and it doesnt seem to be bothering her anymore except for her occasionally saying her boo boo hurts. However, above her top 2 front teeth looks all black and blue on the gums and her gums are a little swollen but the teeth are not loose. I was going to bring her to the ER but i dont know if they will be able to do anything there as its her teeth and they dont have a dentist in the emergency room. Idk if i should bring her anyway or just wait until monday when i can get her to a dentist. Also if you have any suggestions as to what i can do to help her out with the pain, if i do decide to wait to bring her to the dentist on monday. I already gave her tylenol for the pain and put orajel on her gums. Any advice would be helpful. thanks

Should I take my daughter to the ER?

An earring? No, I wouldn't take her to the ER. Give it a few days, make sure it's being kept clean and bandaged. If it becomes infected, which it probably won't, then take her to a doctor. Earring studs are usually pretty small and shouldn't cause significant damage.

Please help. My sister hit her head, what should i do?

My 6 year old daughter just fell off some bleachers at my son's baseball game last night and landed on her head on cement! Luckily there was a nurse there and they had her ice her head.

*Ask her questions like, "What is your name?", "Where are you?", "Who am I?".

*Check to see if her pupils are dialated.

*Do NOT let her fall asleep before you take her to the doctor.

*If she's vomiting, IMMEDIATELY take her to the E.R.

*I would also recommend taking her to the doctor because you can never be too sure. They will check her over and give you more signs of a concussion to watch out for. We took our daughter just to be sure!!!

*Ice her head and give her some tylenol or motrin for pain.

Good Luck!! Poor girl!

My daughter just had chlorine splashed into her eye... do i take her to the ER?

My mom was putting liquid chlorine in her pool, when my daughter came around the corner to see what she was doing. The chlorine splashed in the water and bounced into her eye. It is red and puffy. we have been rinsing it for 20 minutes like the bottle says. Do i need to take her to the ER or urgent care?

My preteen daughter feel in the shower and hit her head what signs to look out for if she needs the ER?

Make sure there is no bleeding, and if she appears sleepy. Do not let her go to sleep, that is a sign that she may have had a concussion. If you are feeling nervous about it, I would have her checked out anyway. It is always better to air on the cautious side. I hope and pray that she is going to be ok.
