Should We Treat All Police Like Gods

Why are police officers treated as heroes?

I recently read an article by someone saying that we should write letters to cops thanking them for keeping us safe. But don't most police officers join the force because it is simply a job that puts food on the table, gives you great financial benefits, puts you in a position of authority over regular citizens of a community, can be very exciting, is a childhood dream, gives you respect, gets you girls, gives you protection makes you a "god of the streets" etc...

In short, while there are certainly risks involved with being a police officer- many jobs that help society are dangerous (such as roofers and fishers). With the benefits that so many cops get and the obvious reasons to go into law enforcement (there is very high competition right now), they are they held in such high reverence?

What do you think of Police Officer's?

Hey SW toes

I saw a very nice policeman on Monday as I lost my handbag, and he was so sweet and helpful I took him a packet of chocolate biscuits the next day to thank him!

He typifies for me the average cop we have here in the UK as a decent guy who genuinely wants to contribute something to his community and to help and comfort people when they are distressed.

Even when I was younger (and a bit of a bastard - if truth be known!) I had to respect the cops I came into contact with as they were always professional and treated me with respect - even after chasing me and my mates all over town or arresting us!!

That is what I would consider the most important thing a cop (or anyone) can do to inspire confidence. Recognise that you are being paid to do (an often unpleasant) job and that showing a consistant and humane face to the public is the ideal that people hope for, but don't always get.

A cops attitude may be the only thing that sticks in the mind long after the problem or offence is a dim memory - and as others have pointed out; you sell more papers with bad news than good. So unless you have firsthand experience with great policemen you are going to have a skewed perception of what most of them are like.

I hope you get treated well on the streets, as from what I have observed of you - and the fact that you even care enough to ask - I guess you're the kind of copper that people are glad to run across!

Is it bad that we treat singers, dancers and actors as gods?

Yes, it is. Entertainers, while often extremely talented, are only people, not gods. Actors, in particular, often seem to think that playing a role entitles them to wisdom that frankly they just don’t possess. While I support everyone’s right to voice an opinion, an entertainers opinion or lifestyle is reflective of their personal choices and often mirror immorality, addiction, and and a supreme sense of insecurity carefully masked by their public relations personnel until those behaviors are exposed.

Why do the police treat firefighters with no respect?

Again, did all three jobs, so here it goes.Cops like to break the balls of Firefighters. Nozzle Nuts, Hose Monkeys, Ladder Jockeys, Cellar Savers, and the Evidence Destruction Team. We call them all of that, but ask 95% of cops, they respect anyone crazy enough to enter a fire, because nothing we’re issued is fireproof, even a little. The remaining 5% are volunteer firefighters, and generally looked at as nuts, because they do it for free.Firefighters make donut jokes, ask about quotas, and generally bring up things to piss off cops every chance they get. But I have NEVER had a problem getting firefighters to help me with something if I needed it.EMS don’t get as much abuse, but everyone realizes you don’t abuse someone too much if you might need them. Paramedics are far easier to abuse. Ditch Doctors, ParaGods, Ambu-Jesus (got called that, once), and I’m sure there are more. Many Paramedics have huge egos. You have to, you are walking into a situation, and have to take control without weapons, using force, arresting anyone. Sheer force of personality.EMS will not bust cops as much as the firefighters do, but those two fields have a longer history to call on.Where do I go with all this?EMS allegedly means Earn Money Sleeping, but most EMTs I know are sleep deprived, working 2–3 jobs trying to make a living. They are the lowest paid of all three fields.Police Officers, should you wish to, have “Ride-Alongs”. Firemen have “Sleepovers”.Stay safe.

Do police officers get to go to heaven despite lying to the public and suspects?

I think everyone is judged by who they are and what they have done. Just because they are a police officer does not mean that they will be judged differently. In heaven, all is seen, and whatever you or I might think of what the police officer did, it may not really relate to how it really is. I find it very hard to know what the truth is from reading the news. We leave it up to God and them to treat the person in the best way to help him get the message of what is good and what is bad and to learn the lessons they need to learn. Who knows, it his next life, he may choose to be a victim of police brutality in order to learn that what he did was wrong and what it is like for victims.

Why do celebrities get treated like Gods instead of doctors or people who are changing the world and saving lives?

I had a car accident, the police officer was rude.?

hello guys.

so i had a car accident tonight how it happened was that i was tryna get into the left lane and didnt notice the van that was speeding, when i did notice was after i felt the bump. thank god no one was hurt but they called the cops so i decided not to. which i guess was the wrong choice, when i did start to call the cop had already arrived had i knowed he was gonna be so rude i woulda asked for another cop. he told me and my nrother to get off and went to the other people first, and it was raining so i guess he did that on purpose. after half an hour he came to us and said i was already getting him frustrated, and then didnt ask my name nor for my liscense nor what happened, i reached for my liscense and he said get ur hands out your pocket but i still took my wallet out and got my liscense for him. then he started to mouth off at me asking if he knows me for me to do that and stuff and just being rude etc.. he automatically decided it was my fault when i was the one hit and continued on being rude...
maybe its the fact that im 19 that he treated me that way. i guess he coulda been racist but the ther folks were black and im hispanic, stating that black people ae higher on the chain the hispanic?
well yeah i got home and was thinking frustrated thoughts like "and then people wonder why some cops get killed". well yea is there anything i could do to report the cop for his rudeness and the way that he disrespected me.
