Shoulder Blade Been Stuck For 5 Weeks

Why do I have shoulder pain after a gallbladder removal?

Did you have laparoscopic surgery? My daughter had her kidney removed laparoscopically and had terrible shoulder pain for almost a week afterwards. They told her it was because of the gas they used to distend the abdomen during surgery. The gas either becomes stuck inside and puts pressure on the diaphragm which causes the nerve pain in the shoulder, or according to an internet site I read, the gas causes some internal tissue damage due to tissues that are supposed to be moist drying out. Either way, her pain was pretty intense but was ignored by doctors and nurses as "nothing to worry about "

Upper back pain between shoulder blades?

It sounds like you could have an esophageal problem. You may have a hiatal hernia or a problem related to GERD. The pain in your back could be referred pain from your esophagus. You need to see a doctor about it because although unlikely if you are not a drinker or smoker, it could be a tumor in your esophagus or upper stomach.

In the meantime, eat only very small meals, frequently. Stay away from spicy and gassy foods. If you are taking any medications (like for osteoporosis or NSAIDs) call your doctor and ask if you should continue them. If taking other pills, be sure you are taking a drink of water before you attempt to swallow them, and wash them down with a full cup of water.
You can try taking some Mylanta after your meals and at bedtime. Sleep with the head of your bed elevated, either the bed up on wood blocks, or put something under the mattress to raise the head. Sleep up on a couple pillows and do not eat a heavy meal before bedtime.
Avoid all alcohol, soda, caffeine. Stop smoking if you do.

When you see your doctor, take a list of the measures you tried (those mentioned above) and let him/her know if they helped at all.

Rotator Cuff Injury? Shoulder Pain... how to fix?

I have had pain in my left shoulder for a little over a week now... on the top, back into the shoulder blade, sometimes down into my elbow, etc.

If hold my arms straight above my head the left arm/shoulder starts to feel pressure after a little while and I need to bring it down. If I sit on a chair and let my shoulders hang down completely it feels as if there is a small weight sitting on top of my left shoulder... thus I am constantly resting my left arm on the elbow of my chair/sofa.

I still have fairly good range of motion in my arm, but the pain is pretty constant throughout the day. It is somewhat relieved by Ibuprofen and various creams/etc., but never completely and not usually for very long.

Everything is pretty tender... if I push on the left shoulder blade area, for example, it is rather painful... yet it feels somewhat nice to do so.

I have never experienced a rotator cuff tear/injury, so I don't know if that's what this is.

If it is, what should I do to begin healing? Just limit its use as much as possible? Begin stretching?

I would go to the doctor, but I am stuck in Japan for a while longer and every time I have visited a doctor around here for other things they have been useless in diagnosing/helping my problems.

Thanks.

P.S. I am a 26-year-old guy, 5'11", 165.

Advice to keep fresh tattoo from sticking to clothing....?

I have been working on a right arm sleeve for the last two years or so and I have my final appointment this Friday, a touchup and to hammer out a few small pieces that he hasn't done yet.

I did a japanese sleeve and I have one issue that happened last time I was in and will be redone this week but I want to avoid it from happening again.

Basically, around my shoulder blade/top of shoulder area where the sleeve ends, I have a bunch of clouds/windbars (black/grey).

Anyway last time they were done, they looked good but in the initial healing stages, it seemed to catch onto my T-Shirt and would slowly pull the scab off in a small section and you can clearly see where that happened now that its fully healed. Like I said, I am getting it redone Friday so I'd like to learn from that and make that not happen again.

Clearly I can't walk around shirtless all day for two weeks and I am fully aware that covering the tattoo the whole time while wearing clothing during its healing stage is a big no-no because you don't wanna suffocate the tattoo or it won't heal properly. I got all that.

So that is why I am here...just lookin for some advice on what to do so that it doesn't catch on clothing anymore. I take very good care of my work after its been done to include cleaning it regularly and after the first few days, applying Tattoo Goo a few times daily.

Thanks for all the help!!!
