Siberian Husky Not Eating.

My Siberian Husky Not Eating and This Worries The Hair Off My Head!?

This is typical of adolescent male Siberians. They sometimes go through a phase where they will become very picky about their food. Understand that no *healthy* dog will starve itself to death.

If you have had him examined by a vet, and they found nothing wrong, he's likely just going through this phase. About the worst thing you can do is jump through hoops to try to get him to eat. This will just teach him that refusing to eat his food gets him rewarded with new things.

Put the food down for 10 minutes at each feeding. Pick up whatever is left until the next mealtime. He will learn to eat when there is food in front of him.

As for being "too big and hyper" to be inside, I'm not sure what you were expecting when you got a Siberian husky - but they DO need consistent exercise, and they DO need consistent training.

Female Siberian Husky won't eat.?

Well...She is about 1 year old now (human years of course) ....She has been de-wormed and shes up-to-date on her shots and everything. We've tried numerous kinds of dog food, but she would only eat that food for a day or two.

I know huskies are very picky to what they eat and everything. Shes begining to get skinny and we really hate to see her like that. I really want her to eat like a normal dog. She eats table scraps much more than dog food.

We don't want her to live off of table scraps, that could be dangerous for her health and cost much much more to feed her. We've tried popular food like Nutro, Maximum and other top of the line foods. We've even tried giving her canned meat, she doesn't eat it.

I'm really concerned...Please help me and my dog....Serious answers please...no "your unfit to own a dog" type comments.

Thank you.

Siberian Husky barely eats...?

I have been feeding my Siberian Husky Eukanuba ever since I got him. He is 8 months old now and I've noticed he sometimes doesn't eat all day. I leave the food bowl down all day and it is usually still full by the end of the night. I noticed that he is looking a little skinny. So I bought some Solid Gold and mixed it with his Eukanuba (so he won't get diarrhea) He likes the Solid Gold but he still isn't eating that much. The next thing I'm going to try is filling the whole bowl with Solid Gold. BUT is there anyone that can reccommend a food that you're Siberian Husky loved !?!? I'm really worried about him, I don't want him getting skinnier!

How many times a day should a siberian husky eat?

I have allways fed my adult dogs twice daily. For breeds that are prone to bloat, feeding twice daily reduces the chances of it occurring.Even breeds not prone to bloat can have it happen,so I have never agreed with giving a dog all his food in one meal. The only problem with free feeding and leaving the food out at all times,is that depending on the dog, they can quickly become overweight.

Do Siberian Huskies eat cats?

My brother & I have been thinking about getting a Siberian Husky & we've heard that they eat cats. Does anyone know if it's true? & if so, would just training the dog really well help prevent them from eating smaller animals?

Why doesn't my Siberian husky eat much food?

Huskies are not typical dogs. They have tastes and flavors they prefer and will abstain from eating or forage on their own while you're not looking. Huskies are the only breeds that can actually shut down their body metabolism for days and weeks on end. < Researchers Seek to Demystify the Metabolic Magic of Sled Dogs >My Husky is fed with a well balanced diet (fruits and veggies for treats and snacks) and Orijen dog food. It is expensive, but unlike typical dog food, this kibble is very dense with meat and veggies that you don't need to feed them a regular serving.  My Husky eats until she is full and stops...leaving the food alone until she is hungry again.  Your dog may recognize that it's a poor food and doesn't want it. I went through several brands, and upon further research many pet foods are full of junk and fillers. Many Huskies seen are typically over weight and over sized. Not saying I condone dog showing, but typically your dogs should be around or a little under weight compared to < Siberian Husky Dog Breed Information - American Kennel Club >. Remember, it's better and healthier to be under weight for a dog than to be over weight and over sized -- which tends to happen because we tend to spoil them. Hope this helps!

HELP. My Siberian Husky keeps vomiting and won't eat or drink!!!?

My 6m old Siberian Husky is usually very active, playful and always devours his food. However, when my dog came back inside from going to the bathroom this morning, he just kind of collapsed on the floor and wouldn't touch his food. He looks so weak. He's also vomited 5 times now and all that is coming up is this white foam. He gets up, vomits, then plops back down. I tried to give him water but he just sniffs it and lays back down.
What could this possibly be? Could it be some intestinal blockage or something? I would like to get a rough estimate of what it could be so I can help him until I can take him to the pet ER as soon as they open. His vet is already closed for today and the nearby pet ER doesn't open until 8pm.
What should I do? I'm very scared because my husky is like my baby to me. :(
