Can I make series with books with the same or similar themes, but not characters?

These days, for an indie author to gain traction, you MUST have a series. The characters need not be the same as long as they live in the same world, and the rules and premise are consistent from book to book. It will work better if your characters are loosely connected and make supporting or cameo appearances in each other's books. Don't just write books, reinvent the world on your terms and share it with us.Your series title is both vague and misleading. Fantasy suggests a particular genre populated by characters who carry staves carved with arcane runes and wear capes or dusters while carrying out a quest our slaying a monster. Your blurb suggests a theme of "Be careful what you wish for"The descriptions suggest they are modern dairy tales. Take that angle and run with it, and don't worry that it doesn't fit nearly into a genre, as long as YOUR concept is well defined.Free First In Series can work, as long as the first book is good, the reader knows what to expect from you and your back matter provides a path to other books. I strongly recommend starting a MailChimp mailing list and putting a link to your sign-up form in the back of your books.

What are some good classic books with similar themes for an essay?

Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice and Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre would be great! They both have prominent themes in love and independence, but are also very separate ideas of what that means.

If you'd like shorter books The Scarlet Letter by Nathanial Hawthone and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck would be good choices as both deal with people who are outcasts form he norm and the morality of society. The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald would work for that too. (also all three are HUGE on symbolism, especially SL and GG)

Books similar to One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest?

Hey, do you know any books with similar themes to Cuckoo's Nest?
Not the mental institution theme, more like anti-conformism (rebels), totalitarianism, dictators, authority, dominating regime, maybe even leadership, etc...or any other themes you can think of (but please state the theme along with your suggestion)

Also i've already read 1984 so i cant do that even though it's sooooo similar!

Classic Books similar to The Alchemist?

IMO it would be much easier if you would pick a classical book and than find a modern one to compare.

One of the reasons in this particular case is that I've read decent number of books and I have never found a writer like Coelho.

Also, the number of books and writers grows fast, so if you would have a classical book, you would have a broader area to look through.

Now, back to the second part of your question, there is no precise line, year, type, that makes difference between classic and modern literature, but I think it is safe to say that the classic ones survived the test of time, meaning that they are still popular, through generations. My other wild guess would be that it is safe to look for anything that was written until the mid 20th century.
