Simmers/sim Fanatics Are You Excited For Sims 4

Do you think the Sims series needs competition?

Absolutely. It's not uncommon for a person or (in this case) an entity to become complacent. They know they have a monopoly on games like the Sims. They know that when people think of life simulation games, they think of the Sims. They know people still remember how awesome and innovative the Sims 1 was upon release; how cool it was to play with friends and complete missions in Sims 2; and, how realistic and comedic the Sims 3 was. They were doing great, amazing even, and thought the warm fuzzies from previous titles would carry over into Sims 4. And for a time they were right. No doubt we were all excited about the new look of Sims 4, the improvements to build mode, and all the other new things EA promised us. But, that excitement lasted all of 5 seconds once we realized all these new features came at a pretty steep cost. Suddenly, there was a loading screen for something as simple as looking at the map. Suddenly, the cars and other things that added realism were gone. Suddenly, the game was missing too many things to really feel like a Sims game in anything other than name. I mean, really, why on Earth did they think removing toddlers was a good idea in the first place? So, because EA had become complacent they released a game that was lacking too much, had to be patched too often, and had expansion packs and stuff packs whose prices were too high for the common player to justify buying.Let's say someone were to come along with a game called The Hims (short for the Humans [bear with me]) that was everything the Sims 4 should've been and more. Let's say the game was able to attract enough attention to get the majority of Sims fan to switch up. Let's go even further and say all these former Sims players start telling everyone they know not to waste their time buying the Sims games anymore and to buy the Hims. The significant decrease in sales of the Sims would force EA to take notice of player dissatisfaction and get back to the drawing board. Competition would force EA to bring their A game if they want their fans and their fans’ money back.In short, the Sims series absolutely needs competition.

Which is the best version of The Sims in your opinion and why?

Although I'm enjoying Sims 4 very much, I'd have to say Sims 3. It keeps the core things from the previous games such as Wants/Fears but also adds moodlets which I really like.As someone who loves customisation, the fact that you could edit materials in Sims 3 was a big game changer. If you want everything to be polka dots it can be. I never had any expansions for 3 if I remember correctly, which shows how good it is as a base game.A downside I noticed with Sims 3 is that with each new household you create a new world which means you can't crossover families. If I've been playing it wrong this whole time let me know. Sims 4 allows you to both mix households in worlds or to create new ones.I could go on but to summarise: Sims 3 takes the best of 1 & 2, adds better graphics and gives you much more customisation for clothes and objects. Character creation is easier with sliders and you can also make cool coloured hair. Sims 4 is well rounded but all the colour choices are presets. Luckily the presets are decent enough.

More Sims 3 Questions!!!!!!!!?

Don't have to answer all, but it would be helpful. Thanks in advance! I've never played the Sims 1, 2 or 3 before but I am getting it soon! I just have some questions...

1. How long are Sims pregnant?

2. Can Sims give birth on the same day you are successful at 'Trying for a baby' (In real time so could you like be on the Sims 3 for a long time to make time pass for her to have the baby? Or do you really have to wait REAL days for her to have a baby?)

3. Can you spring forward in time on the Sims 3? (like make it the next day whenever you want to?) If so... How?

4. What are some Pros / Cons about the Sims 3?

5. Can a baby die on the Sims 3? What do you do to make it die? (So I don't accidentally kill it on the game, haha)

6. Other things I should know about the Sims 3 + Outdoor Living + Pets?

7. Is there a cheat to get tons of Simoleons (Not sure how to spell it...)? If so... is there only a certain amount of times you can use it (the Simoleons cheat) per day?

Does EA or Origin have a demo version of Sims 4?

Or atleast the CAS (create a sim) demo? I'd realllyy love to buy sims 4 but i just bought Sims 3 and 4 expansion packs last fall. Plus, its like $60.00 and thats too expensive for a computer game in my opinion! Ive seen people talk about the "Try it before you buy it" Origin option... but i cant find it.

I would really love answers! Thanks in advance! <3

How will the negative reception of The Sims 4 affect the future of The Sims franchise?

Hopefully, the justified criticism of the Sims 4 and all that it lacked will make EA take a look at the direction it is taking the franchise. Hopefully, the next Sims game will not be a barebones game thrown to its ravenous fans that has to be patched and more or less forces fans to buy Packs and Stuffs to have a more compete and enjoyable experience.I still play just the base game, but would love to be one of those people willing to drop $20 or $30 on content that should have been included in the base game. The most obvious example of this would be Get to Work, something that would have made the prospect of buying Sims 4 for the $60 it retailed for in the first few weeks all the more tempting. Also, the toddler update (and Parenthood expansion pack) was definitely something that shouldn't have been a thing; toddlers and the ability to be a more involved parent should have already been included in the game from the get go!I really hope that the EA team will look at what fans griped about Sims 4 lacking (more specifically, all the things they didn't include from Sims 3) and earnestly work to release a better game when the time comes around.I've heard rumors that Sims 4 might be the last game, but I refuse to believe that. I refuse to believe they would create something so haphazard and rushed only to run away with their tails between their legs because people could tell the game wasn't as polished as it should have been.
