Since Bush Won Two Elections How Is Obama Winning Two Elections Anything Special

How the hell did George Bush win two presidential elections?

Americans aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

Why did Obama and the Democrats win the 2008 election?

1. Obama and the Democrats had a head start as the current (at the time) president had one of the worst approval ratings in the history of the United States. The word "Republican" had a bad connotation for the last 2 years of Bush's presidency. Obama's "changing of the old guard" strategy proved to be tough to crack for Republicans, as this really resonated with (at least with moderates) the general public.

2. The Republicans had 8 whole years, and to the general public (biased or not), thought they had their chances at fixing the United States' problems. Whether you agree with this or not, when things are looking bad after a party has control for 8 years, generally there's a change of the party in power.

2008 election - OBAMA Summary?

There's a lot of strange things that happened in the 2008 election, the Black Panthers intimidating voters at the polls and then not being charged with anything by the Obama administration, several voting districts had 120%+ voter turnout, how do you have 20% more voter turnout , than what you have registered voters, lets take Virginia for example, they have not voted for a Democrat president since LBJ in 1964, that means they did not vote for Jimmy Carter, nor Bill Clinton, Nor Al Gore, nor Micheal Dukakis, they didn't even vote for John F. Kennedy in 1960, then all of sudden they vote for Obama, very strange indeed, and it was not the Black vote because Virginia has only about 20 to 25 % Black population

as for 2012, Obama will have a very tough time, he cannot run against Bush again, he will have to face the Republican candidate this time, his record is awful, so he can 't run on that, but on the other hand he has the full support ( as usual for Democrats ) of the Mass Media ( ABC,CNN, NBC, CBS, MSNBC) and if the Democrats can get another Ross Perot ( maybe Trump) to split the consecutive vote, like they did in 1992, Then maybe Obama can walk back into the White House with less than 50% of the vote, as Clinton did with 43%

Why do Republicans always win the midterm elections, but never win the presidential elections?

sore losers often turn out in force during the mid-terms, trying to win back some pride.

It's that simple.

That's why Dems won the midterms in 2006.........after the embarassing re-election of Bush........and republicans have won both the midterms, after crushing defeats to Obama.
The losers have more to gain by showing up for the midterms.

The winners tend to rest on their laurels, since the Oval office is the real prize.

Overall, no one actually CARES who the governor of Massachusettes IS or Isn't.

It doesn't effect the rest of the country one iota.

They made a big deal about "stealing" Massachusettes.

wow.......short memories...........because, correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't ROMNEY Governor of Massachusettes???????? and didn't they elect a REPUBLICAN senator after Kennedy died?

so why are they acting like they just pulled off the greatest HEIST of the century? Massachusettes elects republicans from time to time. It wasn't that "shocking".

Obama said that People elected Scott Brown a Republican because their mad at Republican President Bush - What?

You have to stand back in awe of their arrogance. They are talking to the American people like we are all confused little children. Once again, they are completely out of touch with most people.

Just wait until November 2012... Let's see if Obama uses that line then. We'll all be so mad about the last 8 years before Obama that we'll vote him out of office. lol

It's really comical. What logic. People are angry at Republicans for the last 8 years so they run out and vote for one. LOL

What is an electorial vote, and how is it won?

they are won at the state level - each state has a certain number of electoral votes based on population size. if the population votes for one candidate, that candidate wins all the electoral votes in the state. That is a short explanation, I'm linking you to a longer (and better) one below.
