Since Cons Think We Should Govern Based On The Most Recent Polling

Why do cons ignore the will of the people? 75 percent of Americans and 61 percent of small business owners support raising the minimum wage?

Are Cons all wizzed off cuz Obama's approval rating hasn't suffered?

When people like Ted Cruz, Darrell Issa, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, Michelle Bachmann etc. are in the mix, we know exactly that an other witch hunt is on.
Just wonder why Issa's constituents overlooked his checkered past. Not a pretty picture by a long shot.

President Obama stands high above the aforementioned and WE THE PEOPLE know it.

What would the pros and cons be for cancelling Brexit now? Should the government ignore the wish of the people if it is in the national interest?

I'm getting increasingly frustrated of statements along the lines of a "will of the people" because the referendum was fought between the status quo and a phantasy project which people projected all their worst fears and greatest hopes onto. The reality is that people voted for Brexit for numerous reasons of which many are logically incompatible with each other and in some cases are even blatant lies. In other words, the government is likely ignoring the real will of the people anyway as these people voted for Brexit not as a means to an end but because of something they believed in and will never see completely implemented for the mentioned impossibility of it.Another major problem I have is that complicated decisions are made the other way around. We look at options, risks, opportunities and then come to an intent that could be described as "yes/no if/as long/unless and many 'but' in between". Brexit increasingly feels like “whatever it takes”.We don't know the will of the people and we can only find out with a better referendum, one that is designed to ask exactly that and is not only called to shut-up an unwelcome wing in a political party. If another referendum is, for whatever political reason, undesirable, Brexit should be cancelled and it was advisory anyway. Considering the many problems with that referendum and the rift in the society, the country needs a long phase of healing in any case. There is no need (or sense) to add economic problems and the many consequential social problems that come with an indirectly enforced lack of funding in social services.

What do you think the poll that found that 43% of people think the current federal government is doing the worst job of governing in their lifetimes?

There is a difference between bad and ugly. Certainly this is a very ugly time. However, for worst, based on the data available, I will have to pick the 60's when I was a baby because:US took the wrong side in the Vietnamese war of independence, spent much blood and treasure, accomplishing nothing but trampling our values and trust in government. Ken Burns documentary chronicles how the whole debacle was from nothing but presidents afraid to appear politically weak.Almost blew up the planet chest beating over the small island of Cuba. The economic policy to support Vietnam launched the painful stagflation of the 1970s. Missed growth never comes back. The 1960s social programs were established with ponzi scheme style funding and incorrect incentives, setting us up for a culture of dependency, special interest feeding and unhindered growth. That "fee for service" federal healthcare was a mistake became immediately clear.Certainly some good came out of the 60s, like federal support of civil rights movements, NASA, etc.Hopefully I'm right. But perhaps today's actions are setting is up for worse outcomes like an existential federal debt crisis or "lefts dream" socialist state. Neither Venezuela style inflation nor mimicry of California style poverty and income inequality would be anything to want. Why is liberal California the poverty capital of America?

Is paranoia a pre-requisite for being a conservative?

Pretty much so. Conservatism is a magnet for loonies.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Push Polling?

Can someone please tell me some of the advantages and disadvantages of push polling. How may push polling affect respondents' opinion? How do you feel supporters of the candidate whose campaign is conducting it, will respond?
Thank you!

Poll Tax-Levied Equal Amount of Tax?

Before answering your question in detail I should point out that the "poll tax" was levied not by the national government but as a means of financing local authority expenditure.
The tax was unpopular because, apart from a few exemptions, it was levied on just about everyone and as you say regardless of income. It was therefore what the economists call a regressive tax having most effect on those least able to afford it. The tax it replaced was a tax levied on property owners that varied with the size of the property and based on the assumption that the well to do lived in bigger houses and therefore were better able to afford a higher level of tax.
The disadvantages of the tax (from the point of view of the taxpayer) were that a lot of people who previously didn't pay the property tax were required to pay the "poll tax" and it was not related to ability to pay. Furthermore compared with the property tax it replaced it was relatively difficult to collect because of the mobility of the population between local authority areas whereas the property tax was levied on property irrespective of the number of occupants. The advantage of the "poll tax" was that it was arguably fairer because local authority expenditure is more closely related to the numbers of people using the local authorities' services rather than the numbers of properties in the local authority area.
