Since The New Us Site Format Was Adopted Can We Still

How Do I Know If I'm Adopted?

A DNA test will tell you, but it's entirely possible to have blue eyes when your parents have green. Also intelligence, whilst linked to genetics isn't strictly governed by them and therefore you may not necessarily have the same strengths and weaknesses.

As for accent.. you know that you're not born with an accent right? It develops under the influence of people around you as you learn to talk, hence why you can be Scottish by blood, but not have a Scottish accent as you may have lived in America all your life. So that point about the accent would only be relevant if you'd been adopted later in life after learning to talk and therefore you'd remember being adopted.

Will WebM be adopted as a new 'image' format across the web, replacing GIFs?

HTML5 video should replace GIF animation for large sizes. HTML5 videos are usually smaller, load faster, have playback controls (no one wants to land on a page with 50 infinitely looping GIFs), and are relatively well supported, with only IE8 and below not supporting an HTML5 video format of some sort. They are a bit costly in that for the widest range of compatibility since you'll have to save 3 different file formats, though at this point, OGG support can probably be dropped. Mobile is a weird space for support, however, since iOS on an iPhone or iPod Touch will always open the video at full screen. Likewise, you can't support autoplay on mobile, though that's probably for the best since you don't want to waste the users mobile bandwidth for content they may not want.

Should the NHL adopt a new playoff format?

I have a few tidbits to offer on this question:The first is that it's been discussed and pushed hard by Charles Wang (NYI owner) that there could be a one game wildcard playoff for the 8th spot. It has been met by resistance most notably by teams who have earned their spot consistently.Second currently the playoffs allow half of the NHL teams to make the playoffs. This is a good number. Not the ridiculous formula baseball has where great teams with good chances at winning don't even get a shot (although wildcard has helped) and not the proposed 20 teams the NFL is currently mulling over which is as close to a gimme into the playoffs as professional sports has to offer. The only change I would like to see adopted would come mid season and might add some competition to an otherwise dull weekend. The winning team in the MLB All star Game earns home field advantage for its league in the world series. This had led to slightly more interesting games and more talk and interest around the whole weekend. This would be a welcome change to the formula. To address the 5-2 home v away formula posted above while I do agree it has its merits I'm just picturing Phoenix getting home ice advantage over Vancouver and the amount of empty seats. Or having to cover 5 home games from Nassau Colliseum. In addition please dear god no one recommend a shootout.

Do puppies get adopted quickly in animal shelters such as SPCA?

i fell in love with this stray black labrador retriever, I dont know how since im scared of dogs! but I still did. He ended up in spca since he accidentally got out of my house while I was at school. We found out that one of our naighbors had sent him to spca. My mom and me then went to check how much he'd cost since he was "lost" not really up for adoption yet. I had the puppy for one day and so we didnt have proof that he was techinically ours so the lady said that we coulnd get him out, wed had to wait till sunday so we could adopt him.He would cost $95 doesn't sound like much but I knew my dad would get him. So know im all worried if he'd get adopted or not! I could beg my dad for him and everything but I dont want the to prevent the puppy from finding a proper home since in mine he wont have that much space. Still I would love to keep him but i just wanted to be assured that he'd find a home fast and woulnd't have to "suffer" living in a small cage for long.

Should English-speaking countries adopt a universal date format (DD/MM/YYYY - 1st January 2016, for example)?

Even worse is when someone uses short formats for the values, as in 10-6-11. Is that October 6, 2011? Is it June 10, 2011? Is it June 11, 2010?The format YYYY/MM/DD (or YYYY-MM-DD) would be more sensible, as placing the year first, then the month, then the day of the month makes it far easier to sort things that are labeled by date. Most of the world uses either month first or day first, so "standardizing" on one format or the other is still too ambiguous, as one would not be easily able to know whether the date has been standardized or not. However, nearly all instances where the year is placed first will place the month next and the day last, in a proper hierarchical format. Since it is so rare to see the day be placed immediately after the year, YYYY-MM-DD would be a better standard to adopt as it is almost universally understood. My vote is for YYYY-MM-DD, using dashes instead of slashes and using leading zeroes for values less than 10. Since it is common to use dates in file names, and some operating systems do not allow slashes in file names, also some programs do not handle slashes in input well, dashes are preferable.Today's date is 2016-01-29.

Why does the Indian Railway use the 24 hour time format?

A little brief on the timing used in Indian Railways.Since the Railways in India were started by the British, initially they followed local times based upon the individual Railway companies which owned any of the regional railway lines. However, as the rail network underwent a massive expansion, this caused a lot of confusing, leading to the British adopting Madras time as the standard for two reasons - it's longitude was roughly midway between Bombay and Calcutta, and the observatory had a telegraphic service to synchronise time better.Later, when Allahabad was established as the centre for IST, they started using that time as standard instead. As for the 24 hour military time format, it was adopted to avoid confusion to common people (it is more clear to mention 01.15 and 13.15 as separate times rather than say 1.15 AM and 1.15 PM). In a vast country filled with numerous languages and innumerable dialects and cultures, it was vital to adopt a certain standard way of keeping time.

Why don't North American universities adopt the 3 + 1 (undergraduate + Master’s) format used in the UK?

At some point in the past out American friends decided they were not out friends and thought it better they did not pay for the King to get pissed while they were a bit hungry. At various points afterwards they have been more or less friendly to the point the current US president owns a bunch of Scotland and wears a highland ferret on his head. They have often forgotten this and ask really stupid questions to people who still liked the King/Queen such as “do you celebrate 4th July” - or traitors day as we like to call it. To clear it up - no. They also pretend Ben Affleck won WWII - he didn’t. Nor did his mate. So, after clearing that up the US and the UK went their intertwined but separate ways. Being somewhat behind the times the Americans decided to listen to historic views of some short frog called Napoleon and drive on the wrong side of the road. Probably to piss off their biggest allies - who knows. They also came up with a schooling system that ensured everybody knew nothing about anything. To fix this they invented a University system where you can learn nothing of any note as you split you time between minor (no idea what is going on) and major (maybe heard of it). They had a perfectly good system which has a University currently ranked no 1 in the world but they decided King George was such a twat they would ignore it, even though it had nothing to do with him and was already nearly a millenia old, and institute something that qualified nobody for anything instead. If Americans are really clever though they go back anyway via something called a Rhodes Scholarship. Rhodes had lots of slaves and is not very popular these days (Oriel college nearly pulled his statue down), Americans were officially ok with this until recently though but they have since got with the plan, well Alabama may vary but mostly. Anyway, clever Americans get UK degrees. Figure that out…..TL;DR I have no idea, blame Napoleon. US Bachelors degrees are useless though whoever you blame unless you want to hire someone to do finger painting. They do have the odd good postgrad things though, I assume they get to specialise by that point.

How does the Texas Constitution differ from other states and the US constitution?

Cause theres was written when they where there own country. then they joined the union after. So there's is allot different:

It states that the State of Texas has only those powers explicitly granted to it; there is no state equivalent of the necessary and proper clause to facilitate controversial legislation. Thus, the Texas Constitution functions as a limiting document, as opposed to the U.S. Constitution's purpose as a granting document. Because of the unwieldiness of the state constitution.

The 1876 Constitution is the one of the longest state constitutions in the United States, and one of the oldest still in effect.

Can I buy a kitten from another state?

I'm very allergic to dogs and my dad finally agreed to letting me get a kitten when we move in the next few months. I'd realllllly like to get an exotic shorthair kitten but I haven't found any breeders in Las Vegas (where Im from) I see theres some breeders in California and I'm there frequently. I was wondering if I'd be able to go to California, buy a kitten, and be able to bring it back to Las Vegas with me just by driving back. Am I allowed to do that? I'm just wondering since I live in a different state and want to buy from another state.

(Also I know it'd be better to adopt but I'd REALLY like a kitten and specifically a exotic kitten!)

Thanks!
