Can I complete my graduation in one year from IGNOU?
I guess this question was asked by a CA student, because if you are one, the answer for you is : YES!The ICAI and IGNOU have a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) between them, which allows students pursuing CA to complete their BCOM degree from IGNOU, by sitting in exams only once.The course is called BCom hons. (Accounts & Finance); code BCOMAF in the IGNOU prospectus.Here's the link : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of IndiaTo get this degree, you'll have to sit in the exams conducted by IGNOU in the month of June, only once. There are 6 subjects including : Exports, English, Business Communication etc.You’ll also have to submit assignments for all the 6 subjects; written assignments.Its pretty standard stuff and all the study and assignment material is readily available in the market.There's a catch though : its still not BCOM degree in one year, its BCOM degree awarded after 3 years of articleship, but you're exempted from giving any exams for rest of the years.This means that after you’ve passed the above exams, you'll need to submit your form 108 (article-ship) completion to IGNOU and you'll be awarded the degree.This is all legit.
