Sitting Wondering What I

So I am sitting here in Athens wondering what harm would ensue if, instead of putting the toilet tissue into the bin next to the stool, I took a chance and flushed it the way I have for most of my 70 years in most of the rest of the world. Advice?

The Athenians do not show particular confidence in their sewing system. Older houses/apartments (more than 40 years) in Central Athens may have problems when too much paper comes through too thin pipes. The paper bin in the toilet is there for exactly that purpose. It is however up to you to use it, or not.

If you woke up one morning sitting by a crib in which baby Hitler lay sleeping, what would you do?

First, I would be incredibly confused and wondering where I was. Would I be in modern clothing? Or clothing that more resembles that time period? Then I would get up and look around more at my surroundings. I’ve never been to Austria(assuming this is where I am) before. I would check on the baby to make sure it was alright before walking around the house and seeing if anyone else was there. Depending on my surroundings, I would choose to leave and hope no one saw me or I would stay there and watch over the baby whilst contemplating how to live in this new environment.

I was just sitting around wondering how natives dealt with seasonal allergies?

I have never read anything regarding Native American Indians and remedies for seasonal allergies, which leads me to believe that they simply didn't have them. It makes sense - their ancestors migrated to the Americas from the Mongolian plains over 10,000 years ago, they have been here for a very, very long time. People adapt to their environments over time just like all other organisms.

Over time, humans who suffered allergic reactions to the plants in their environment would probably die out for one reason or another. Imagine being an American Indian out in the wild, sniffling and sneezing... suddenly a bear or a big cat is after you and because you are so congested you can't breathe properly, so you can't run very fast or think clearly enough to outsmart your predator. Bang, you're dead. Or perhaps those first Indians who suffered seasonal allergies were considered weak or infirm by their tribemates, and were unable to secure husbands/wives to procreate with because of their perceived weakness. Then they would not be able to pass on their genes, so their hereditary disposition towards allergies wouldn't be passed on.

After several thousand years of this "natural selection", you would eventually end up with a population of people who simply don't suffer allergies to their environment. Our ancestors have only been here a few hundred years at most, certainly not long enough to have evolved any sort of adaptation to the environment. Since we aren't native, we weren't conferred native immunities to the local fauna from our ancestors like Native Americans probably have. Hence, allergies.

Like I said, I really don't know, but that's my best guess. I honestly Googled it because your question piqued my interest, and I couldn't find anything on the topic. Given what I know about Anthropology though (it's my major), the natural selection idea sounds like a winner to me.

My pontoon boat sits low and i am wondering if you have to fill the tanks up with air...?

You don't need to fill the pontoons with air.

However you could have water in your pontoons.

Put the boat on a trailer and get it out of the water. Check the pontoons to see if there are drain plugs. If there are drain plugs remove them and to drain the water from the pontoons.

When reinstalling the pontoon drain plugs add some Teflon tape to the threads. This will help seal the plugs and make them easier to remove in the future. You can find Teflon tape in the plumbing department of your local home improvement store.

As I sit here and wait for hurricane Nate to hit me, I was wondering, “What are you doing today”?

I'm sitting in a cafe, watching the football match of Egypt vs. Congo which might take us to the World Cup in Russia, but my brain is all over the place.Yesterday was my graduation and I partied a little too hard for my taste. I'm trying to recover today but I still feel so tired. I'm waiting for a job interview that looks like it won't be taking place and I'm wondering what should my next step in life be. Up until this point, I was using “I haven't even graduated” as an excuse to slack a bit, after trying and failing to make something of myself for such a long time. Should I go into the corporate world and work a job that barely covers my transportation costs, or should I work on the so many book concepts I have, or should I improve the two books I already finished in hopes of getting them published?Truth is, I'm too afraid of trying and failing again, it got to me. Yesterday I partied because I knew that up until this point my goal was getting an education. That was always easy for me. Good grades were always a piece of cake. But the outside world is nothing like school. It needs a lot of effort, connections and luck, two of them I currently lack.So what am I doing today? Probably nothing. I'm too scared to start doing anything.

How do I deal with this annoying classmate who is sitting two seats on the right to me?

If you can try to remove yourself from sitting near them. However, just like in class...and just like in work...sometimes you cannot avoid people. I was in the military and you can imagine all of the hardships I have suffered. I hated some people and I cried at night wondering why I had to endure them. One day...I stopped caring. I realized that there are people everywhere! All different types of people. What can you do? They have to co exist with you right? You are in class. I think you should focus on the reason why you are there. To study and get high test scores. Be thankful that you are not sitting next to them. Then don't look at them and ignore them if you can. Or try to see if they are harmless. This way you must see that it is not their fault. They are just being themselves. If they are annoying and mean to you...ignore them completely. Focus on your intent. You are there to get past this class and succeed in school. This might help you out.

Car Been sitting for 10 years What should i do?

This is an update for my question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...
I was wondering What i should all work on now. I got a new fuel pump , got the gas tank professionally cleaned. Also I chnaged the oil transmission fluid. I don't have that good of knowledge about cars. But the tires were inflated for sitting for so long and i put the tires to the right pressure and for 1 week its still held the same pressure. I Got it started and runs i took it around for 2 miles but it tends to make a noise from the engine when i accelerate. But when i don't give it gas it stops. Other then that the car looks and smells brand new. Its been sitting in the garage for 10 years. Also it has 98,000 miles and its a dodge stealth.
I had a mechanic check all the fuses and said everything should be fine after we replace all the fluid but i always enjoy a second opinion on what i should do.
Thanks For your time!
Andrew
